Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

The scandals rocking Hollywood, the political elite, and the media are qualitatively different from any scandal that could embroil a conservative because the latter was always just a man while the former were special men who stood as judges of all mankind, able to nudge or signal virtue as the arc of history bade them do.

  1. All so very true … and I am reminded how leftists believe all children are born “perfect” … and they could/would remain perfect … if not for all the awful adults (parents) who screw them up. It beggars belief, and direct observation, that any child is “born perfect”. Such utter nonsense, but it is essential to the atheist left to view themselves as gods. Perfect, and in no need of redemption or forgiveness for anything … because THEY were born “perfect”.
And regarding the skyward-screamers … while watching Watter’s World … I saw dozens of pre-printed anti-Trump placards that all had refusefascism.com written across the bottom of them. So just out of idle curiosity … I looked-up the group …

Huh!? Imagine that! They are “closely associated” with the Revolutionary Communist Party. Now WHY doesn’t the media (including Fox News) ever reveal exactly WHO these unhinged anti-Trumpers really are? What!? They’re afraid of being called “McCarthy” … sheesh.

  2. There is this other blog that has an exceptionally leftwing slant that begins with an “r” and just out of curiosity I took a perusal of the postings.
If the commentary is any indication of the voting intentions of the typical NDP voter come next election if the liberals try to convince them to lend their vote it won’t work.
Those folks are po’d at the sock monkey and they want pay back for the broken promises.
They have become one issue voters.

  3. kenj, you make, that so often made, Christian error, in that you equate “conservatism” with religious belief. I am an atheist, AND a conservative, as if Kate. Try understanding your intellectual limitations:-)))

  4. NME666, that is so friggin’ true.
The bigoted contempt many Conservative Christians show for ANY atheist is quite depressing, especially when they completely fail to acknowledge that MANY MANY destructive leftards are themselves devout Christians. Really, profiling atheists as all leftists is as ignorant as lumping everyone who reasons NOT to believe in flying saucers into one identifiable group. Cause, we all know how evil those saucer-deniers are…. right?
I have already stated many times here that the ONLY reason we have Syrian refugees in our fair little city is because of the ignorance of local Christian churches. Not surprising though, since organized religions are the original virtue signalers.
Finally, to those idjuts who have convinced themselves that individual atheists are some kind of organized religion…. Atheism is as much a religion as abstinence is a sexual position!
Have a great Sunday everyone, and don’t you dare tune into any NFL games.

Great question! I also have wondered why FoxNews doesn’t tell their viewers who these radicals really are. I think we know why the other fellow traveler media doesn’t expose the Antifa crowd. For the same reason that Walter Duranty shilled for Stalin.
Another thing I have a hard time understanding is the extent to which the Republican establishment is so tied to their lack of realization of the mortal danger that “Refuse”, Antifa, Ayers, Alynski, Soros pose to American freedom. It is almost as if the GOP establishment leadership is allied with that evil bunch.
Richard is right, “We all do”. WalterF, yes.

  6. In short, the progressive media and politicians have screwed themselves. Not only are they considered dishonest, it has now been revealed that they’ve tolerate criminal sexual behaviour by fellow travellers for decades. Then there’s the sex scandal frauds (Rolling Stone magazine)and racism hoaxes reported as truth by the media since the election. It shouldn’t be suprising if people don’t believe the reports or, like progressives did for decades, just ignore this type of behaviour for “the greater good “.
Regarding religion: I think it is a fallacy to believe that self-control (which I see as the root of morality and virtue) can only come from religion. Religion can teach people about self-control but actually practicing it is the responsibility of the individual. Not all individuals need religion to practice self control; not all outwardly devout religious people practice self-control. The value of religion is to teach the individual and to normalize this type of behaviour, self-control, in the broader culture. Knowing if someone is atheist or Christian is not the best way to judge their morality. Something as simple as observing the way they treat others on social media is a better indicator of self-control.

  7. As a close second or entwined with self-control is respect for other people and their rights but that’s maybe more of a libertarian atheist ideal.

  8. Putting political persuasion aside, do you believe yourself to be a god, (your own god) and to be perfect? Do you believe you were born perfect, and any trouble in your life is the fault of “those bad (so-called intellectually inferior) people”? And to the point of the article, do you leverage your Godless, atheist perfection as a means to feel intellectually and morally superior? Nevermind, I think your response already answered my question.
But I still love you maaaaan. And repeatedly remind you of what you and I agree on … politically, if not ethically. And you will never hear me call your intelligence or even your motives into question … just your spiritual choice. I don’t hate you (like Kate?).

This is an incorrect reading of Leftist thought.
Leftists believe a child is born as a blank slate with no nature whatsoever, upon which anything can be written with the correct environment and education. That’s why they took over the education and the media, so they can decide what will be written. The technical term is Tabula Rasa.
Leftists hold that humans are infinitely malleable and have no innate nature at all, sacred or profane. That this is manifestly untrue, and that humans uniformly exhibit all sorts of traits throughout history does not bother Leftists. They just kill the ones that don’t act right, and the problem is solved.
This is also why Leftists love the idea of Eugenics and abortion. Very efficient to birth only those that fit the Five Year Plan and slay those who do not. Leftists love efficiency.
So it seems that your view of Leftists is much more rosy and forgiving than what they actually are, which is monstrous.
You should work on that, and perhaps not be so boastful of your piety. Piety, plus a buck fifty, will get you a coffee at Timmy’s.

  10. Some of my best friends are non-Christians. Ha! Seriously though, I tend to hang out with far more agnostic, atheist, non-Christians than self-confessing Christians. Why? Because, aside from their disbelief in God, they live mostly moral lives, and we just resonate with one-another. They also live very REAL lives, as I do. They don’t live stilted, fake, make-believe, lives as many Christians do. Consider the truism that “you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your family”. Many of my Christian family members are quite cringe-worthy. But I am still called to LOVE them as much as I am willing to LOVE my NME666 (and LC Bennett). And I might add that these “morally disciplined” (Conservative) atheists should LOVE me as much in return. My choice of friends is a personal choice which has nothing to do with my belief in God. I believe that I DO live a very moral life. But I accept that I am hardly perfect, and that many of those cringeworthy Christians (and perhaps LC and NME) might even be living far more-perfect lives than I. But since we ALL fall short of the glory of our Creator … minor differences in perfection are wholly irrelevant. I accept that the “board” covering my eye is always more significant than any “speck” I observe in yours.
What matters is to consider the source of our very being. Why are YOU uniquely YOU? Random molecules banging into one-another that created your very self-awareness and consciousness? Well, I suppose the church of science would tell us that. But my very self-awareness argues against the science. And none of us will know who’s right till our deaths. But I do believe that God has revealed Xeself (*snicker*) in everything surrounding our lives … the many fragile and fortuitous chemical and physical alignments … the very beauty and complex simplicity of our planet … the many spiritual truths and rules that we all sense … such as “morality” and “good” vs “evil” … we are all born with this innate knowledge. Only, some choose to fight against our very nature. Choosing to believe that THEY (essentially) created their own lives. I accept the fact that I cannot personally alter one cubit of my own life. But I CAN make the most of what I have been given.

  11. OK … so leftist believe that every child is a “perfectly blank slate”. I tend to think at the conceptual level, and not get lost in rigid orthodoxies. So forgive me if I don’t follow some published narrative of leftist belief.
You should work on that, and perhaps not be so boastful of your piety. Piety, plus a buck fifty, will get you a coffee at Timmy’s
Wow … did you miss my point entirely (as well as the point of the article). I am arguing AGAINST piety … by ANYONE … both the Atheist left (who are using their own fake moral piety to take down an “Alt.right” candidate) and … Christians. Piety is a manmade construct to make oneself feeeeeel better (more superior) about themselves. Piety is rubbish.
You are confusing my own defense (apologetics) of God as “piety”. I hardly feeeeel myself “better” than you, or any non-believer. I am NOT a “pious” Christian. I do not carry a BIG BIBLE to church like Bill Clinton did after receiving blow jobs from a 19yo girl in the Oval Office. I do not believe God views you any differently than Xe (*snicker*, again) views me. My saviour, Jesus Christ, taught a (difficult) parable about The Prodigal Son. Difficult, because it teaches that God will welcome YOU back into the kingdom of heaven with a massive party while virtually ignoring a faithful son like me. That parable alone suggests that any piety on my part will not only be ignored by God … but will likely hurt ME more than YOU. I am anything BUT pious.
I caution you to be more intelligent than resorting to stereotyping “religious” people (more likely JUST Christians) as pompous, pious, pricks. It seems to suggest extreme prejudice and bigotry on your part. Sort of a knee jerk reaction to something you just don’t want to hear. Such reactions will never cower me and silence my belief. Try to extend the obvious intelligence you have toward a deeper understanding of true believers and their beliefs.

  12. You KNOW that you and I would be good friends … as we both dismiss piety as worthless virtue-signaling. However, I respectfully ask you to please keep your brushstrokes small and detailed … and don’t broad-brush all Christians as pious azzwipes. Ha! although I guess I tend to broad brush leftists

    Communists follow the Devil.
    Democrats follow Communists.
    Republicans follow Democrats.
(That’s merely 3 degrees of separation between Republicans and the Devil.)

  14. I personally have a particular and deep and increasing contempt for ‘conservative’ ‘christians’. in fact I am fine tuning a document ‘dealing with christians’, detailing some 40+ YEARS of indifference and outright hostility from ‘christians’. curiously, of the 5 churches where this happened, 3 of them are now kaputz. including this one just this past summer:
