Um, no. The national anthem protests are a factor, but a small one — only something like 3% of NFL fans report watching/attending fewer games for that reason. As for Hollywood, box offices have been slumping for years. Partly, it’s all superheroes and remakes (who asked for a new “Flatliners”?), and partly, in the era of Netflix and iTunes, kids these days just don’t go to the movies as much.
That said, both major professional sports leagues and Hollywood are still massive money-makers — they’re just making slightly less money than before.
If only people would learn to vote the same way…

Maybe having to spend over $50 for two people to see a movie and have popcorn and a drink has something to do with it. The Bassturds have already driven the alternative theaters showing three month old movies plus popcorn and a drink for $20 out of business by refusing to rent them the film reels. My grandmother told me stories of watching double features and enjoying popcorn and a drink for less than a dime during the recession. Talk about inflation all you want…you do the math. The “pictures” stopped being the medium of the people a long time ago.

We actually walked out on a few movies in the past. Our home movie purchases for home viewing have become highly selective and any hint of a film being a SJW propaganda and it does not get purchased or gets the boot. Even some HGTV get bypassed.

Precisely. The declines in attendance/viewership were already happening pre-Trump. The anthem issue has added to the NFL’s ratings woes, but isn’t the cause of them. Seriously? You are equating a 3% decline in attendance/viewership from last season with the thousands of empty seats this season that the photos in the link I provided show? 3% can be a sampling error. Attendance is the real world.
