The good thing about PM Harper is that he knew his job was directing the country but he left the ‘hows’ to the Premiers. That’s why the Quebec and Western sovereignty movements died. This guy is back to the divisive nature of “Daddy knows best”.
To be fair, he cannot serve the interests of the globalists and the premiers at the same time. He has chosen to do the bidding of the globalists, so watch for more provincial interference.

Not true at all. I think he was the best prime minister in my lifetime. He was often pilloried by the press, and hounded to death by the self serving Liberals. The failure, in my view, is the public who were too easily duped by every last Harper complaint.

Old Reformers like myself feel ‘played’ to an extent as the Reform leadership appears to have used our efforts. Reform was grass roots in name only. I met both Manning and Harper a number of times and very personable people but what were they really thinking?

Overall, I wasn’t happy with Harper. While not a complete failure, he did not really accomplish much other than to return Canada to a deficit neutral position after the great collapse of 2008. Unlike Obama who continued to be praised for running massive deficits.
Ultimately it makes little sense to run a balanced budget if voters don’t care. Trudeau is proving this in spades. People don’t know the difference between debt and deficit. They have no idea what happens to payments on the debt once interest rates rise.
The Nova Scotia teacher’s pension is $1.4 billion under-funded. Be patient and wait. One day the government will not be able to pay for their promises. Perhaps then we will have a truly conservative government. One marked by massive inflation until all debt is worthless. Then we can go back to liberalism / socialism.
The Whole thing about the “legalization of MARIJUANA”…has squat to do with allowing folk to grown their own and use it freely without interference. It has however, EVERYTHING to do with Increasing control over the population. I know enough about how the Sask Party government’s cabinet works that I think the progressives such as James Moore in Harper’s government stopped many of the initiatives that most of here wanted to see happen. CBC and total repeal of C068 come to mind.

I had a little chat with a Sask Party cabinet minister last evening and his answer to my question about stopping the prospective carbon tax from being forced on Saskatchewan and his only comment after a slight hesitation was that government lawyers feel they have a strong case in stopping it. But, with a leftist activist SCOC I wouldn’t bet on it.
Cutting the GST was stupid, and so was the transit tax credit. The current government was right to ax it.

Cutting the GST was a promise KEPT. He cut Corpse funding, but nowhere near enough. Instead we had James Moore and his NAUSEATING defence and love for the Corpse, whose employees detested the CPC.
Harper ran a poor last campaign. It looked like he lost interest, there was little enthusiasm.
Too bad, it stuck us with Spudnik and his attack on the middow clath, along with his unqualified imbeciles in cabinet, along with Ralph Malone, Johnny Walker (since put out to pasture) and Dionky, exiled to his home country. The cabinet now resembles a team of resume builders without real accomplishments. Anyone that has worked corporately knows who they are
