Friday, Saskatchewan @ Hamilton: After getting their butts handed to them by Winnipeg last week a more humble Riders go against a suddenly winning team in the TiCats. Riders added Otha Foster and Jeff Knox Jr. back to the roster after they were cut by their NFL teams. Pick Riders.
Saturday:
Edmonton @ Toronto: Can the Eskimos get over their discipline problems to stay focused on the Argonauts? Toronto is well rested after their bye week. This is their chance to show the CFL they are in the running. Pick Toronto.
BC @ Calgary: Jennings showed he was back in form last week after the season ending injury to Lulay. Can their D hold a strong Calgary offence? Probably not. Pick Stampeders.
Sunday, Ottawa @ Montreal: Two weeks ago the TiCats had the week from hell. Now it was the Alouettes turn. The Als let go Head Coach Jacques Chapdelaine and D-Coord Noel Thorpe. Word is the players are not too shook up about it. Still, chaos is chaos. Pick RedBlacks.
Other CFL News: Next year the season will be 21 weeks, including 3 bye weeks per team and they are eliminating full contact padded practices during the season. Pads and contact will still be allowed during rookie and training camps. These are both good decisions in my opinion especially because they worked hand-in-hand with the CFLPA on these decisions. Can you say “limiting liability”?
One thing I wonder about the no pads rule – what happens when a replacement guy comes into the team. Is the first time he takes a hit going to be in the game? I can’t see how that is safe.
Saskatchewan over Hamilton
Edmonton over Toronto. Surely by now Edmonton can get back on track.
Calgary over B.C.
Ottawa over Montreal
Man, what ever happened to that dude with The Friday Night Blues, a link I found with y’all or Captain Capitalism. Friday’s never been the same.
In the continuing saga of goofs that is the cfl I’m going with Hamilton.
I think they signed Johnnie Football this week. Yeah, he’ll work well with Art Briles.
Oski wawa
The CFL is expanding the season one week forward to accommodate the 3rd bye, Now if they would only expand the season another 2-3 weeks forward to accommodate spring, rather the continue to play football in winter.
Once you get over 40, sitting in the stand in freezing temperatures gets old real fast. I also think that the teams will soon find that fewer and fewer Millennials will want to sit there as well.
Well, until they address the Commercial Football League telecasts they have lost this fan. Can’t stand the telecasts and this from a guy that watches, or used to watch, every single game. It is getting ridiculous. It’s bad enough having commercial breaks every minute or so of football coverage, but having to watch the same G*&%damn commercial over and over again is visual torture in my eyes. Added to that are the tacky commercial logos on the football fields, the sideline’s sandwich boards and Glenn Suitor’s incessant yakking. Do we really have to have an analysis of every single play – sometime showing it 5 or 6 times. C’mon guys. Last, stick to the game and stay away from identity politics. I don’t need top be told there is diversity in our league. There always has been. It is not a new paradigm here guys. You’re just falling in line with the progressive political agenda and it sucks. There, my rant for the week.
I am an Argos fan – for life. It is a cross I have to bear.
I now live in Victoria so getting to see a BC Lions game in Vancouver is a very expensive proposition and challenge. Why oh why can’t you guys (Lions) have more afternoon games so fans from Victoria can come to the game and still make the Ferry home.
That was “Dust My Broom” my favorite site on the net. The site owner retired from the internet business and is happily married and raising a family now.I converse with him on facebook every now and then.
Darcey’s taste in both beer and blues was impeccable. He is missed.
I prefer to watch women athletes but if watching guys turns you on well to each their own.
Oh yeah, whatever happened with the Lingerie Football League?

Finally the Edmonton Coach has Complained about what is the real problem…..When the “booth” pulled QB (ED/CAL) on the 10 yard line, and then they called a “BOOTH” penalty (throat sign) in the final seconds of the game..This is not just bad officiating
BTW: Today the hit on Edmonton QT was an illegal Helmet/Helmet hit & the ball came out after he was down… (Ground can’t create a fumble)…Not even reviewed! A FAST Mugging in TO…
Phillip, I saw the same thing. Everyone seemed so focused on the hit Reilly took that no one noticed that he was down on his back while holding the ball, before it was knocked free. Even down on his left elbow, prior to resting on his back. Rewatched in slow-mo with the DVR.
This brutal officiating is what lead to all the challenge flags to start with. Now it poor officiating continues without remedy.
Can’t stand Glen Suitor anymore, especially when paired with CutBerttt. The two of them together are like an old gay couple.
TSN needs some new voices and needs to mix up the broadcast teams, so the same guys aren’t always on together.
