Salon.com insist on being located in New York City. Salon.com is being sued by former landlord for non-payment of rent. Salon.com wants Chaveznomic in New York and redistribute some of those wealth their way.
Poetry is in some way like a mirror to life, only a mirror that can shape one’s perception of events to help find meaning in them. Without Shakespeare, Milton, Byron, Shelley, Keats, Wordsworth, and all the other “guys in the band” (Inspector Hathaway in LEWIS), we are but obedient serfs who turn bolts for our masters and go shopping.
The present-day (poop)storm of I, I, I, me, me, me free verse (there is no such thing as free verse) is not poetry.
Ha.
Obviously SALON would be better off now had its own business model “achieved real economic gains”.
Yeah, the illusion is always there, for a time, with socialism. But reality always shows up, eventually, with the mass graves and prison camps and bread lines… The counter revolutionaries are always needing a lot of killing, and there always has to be some for the murder fetishists of socialism…
I’m probably not the only one wondering why a digital publisher felt it was necessary to pay $300,000 per year renting “space” for its “digital” publishing business.
Poetic justice.
Make no mistake about it,the vast majority of the stupid, thieving Venezuelan people voted over and over and over again for the evil monster Chavez and his gang of utterly incompetent, low IQ socialist criminals.
Let them suffer greatly
So what is the better part of Venezuelan socialism – killing people for their opinions or starving them to death?
There used to be lines at the bakery for bread. Now the line ups at the bakery are for edible scraps rescued from garbage containers. So one upside is that socialism leads to better recycling in a have not, waste not sort of way.
I can’t wait for Salon to die. It’s had a negative impact on political culture. Slate can be good; Salon cannot be.
Heh
That would be why Salon can’t pay its rent.
According to a link on Drudge yesterday.
Maybe they will ask the Big Brother for some alms, as does Canadian “news” company.
Real fascism has never been tried.
Salon simply needs to find a lucrative government-sanctioned-funded activity … like Abortion. Then they will be able to kill babies and the truth simultaneously. Or they could become a branch of the PBS … spreading leftist propaganda on the taxpayers dime. I guess they were counting on a continued flow of funding from The Clinton Foundation? Not realizing that Chelsea and HER deadbeat, corrupt, husband were skimming all the “operations” funding off the top. Too bad. Maybe George Soros can save them ? Have they kissed up to George’s creepy boy yet ?
maybe they lost george’s phone number, so could you text it to them for me:-)))
“…wondering why a digital publisher felt it was necessary…”
They felt it was necessary because instead of thinking about what was necessary, they felt about it.
The Venezuelan people voted immorally to steal from the rich hoping to enrich themselves and they ended up impoverishing themselves with their immorality.
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
~Winston Churchill
Social justice promises to make everyone equally rich, but achieves making everyone equally poor.
Socialism always promises to achieve equality of outcome. That outcome is justly failure for it’s supporters.
Socialism kills the reward that drives merit and therefore kills meritocracy itself.
For who should be striven to achieve merit when merit is shorn of reward and if rewarded at all, that reward is stolen and given to those who have neither striven nor esteemed merit at all?
Countries misruled by the worst of marxist crooks are usually easy to spot but the biggest “red flag” that can’t be missed is multiple foreign exchange rates with leftist virtue signaling explanations tied thereto. Needless to say “capitalist exploiters” who tend import stuff to sell in the free market in competition with the regime’s own well taken care of exploiting cronies get the dirtiest deal.
good grief. I stopped clicking on salon oooh, about 8 or 10 yrs ago.
