Canadian Government Rolls Out The Most Disturbing App Ever
    Points For Good Citizenship
And what better sign of that maternal love than a government-sponsored app to encourage you to live a healthier lifestyle? Well, guess what, fellow comrade of the Canadian socialist utopia? You’re in luck! The government of Ontario has just announced that it’s investing $1.5 million in just such an app. And the CBC, the media indoctrination arm of the Canadian government’s Ministry of Truth, tells us this is because they are betting the app will make you healthy. So what could possibly go wrong here?
Long story short: In 2015, the Public Health Agency of Canada teamed up with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, and YMCA Canada to create an app that would manipulate its users into pre-determined behaviors—in this case “healthy behaviors” (as determined, of course, by the Canadian government and its cohorts). The app rewards users for “correct” behavior with points that can then be redeemed for real world goods via tie-ins with popular Canadian loyalty and point programs like Aeroplan, Petro Points, Scene (Cineplex), and More Rewards. The federal government ponied up $5 million to get the app off the ground.

  2. Kate, you’re amazing! Good trick. Comments start 24 hours before opening of thread. How’d you do that?

  3. Everything is big in Australia. Including a battery that’s designed to back up a failed wind energy project. If you think Tesla has invented the battery backup for wind generators, think twice. In the mid 1920’s, Marcellus and Joseph Jacobs started work on their first wind generators. By the late 1940’s, they were producing 110 volt DC wind generators that were backed up by lead acid batteries and gasoline powered generators. Jacobs still manufactures small wind turbines today.

Wind generators have one common defect of character. The wind doesn’t always blow. That’s why we needed centralized power stations that provided power 24-7. By now, one would think that the government of Australia would have learned this. Not so. The Rebel Media provides an enlightening video on this topic.

  4. newsflash
Metis claim that they are indigenous
Metis: of mixed European and Indian blood (particularly French)
Indigenous: existing naturally in an area
Aboriginal: being the first or earliest known of a region
Constitution declares that aboriginal peoples Inuit, Indian and Metis.
The Constitution abuses the word aboriginal because Metis are clearly not that. A number of Indian tribes are also not aboriginal to Canada(e.g., Iroquois are from New York). Using the word indigenous is just ridiculous.
Canada has an Indian Act, overseen by the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs whose government has a Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women commission. Crazy word abuse.

ignoring the fact that those specific dollars squandered to prop up a failed business model are FOREVER unavailable for other investments by the taxpayers they were stolen from.

  9. MASS transit = mass rape

However … don’t blow it out of proportion, says the BART spokeshole. Yeah, like those FAKE rapes fabricated by Rolling Stone. Only … the 7 rapes on BART since Jan. are REAL. Leftist Press … crickets. Here we learn another rubric of the Left … that the promotion of MASS transit for the masses … is more important than a few RAPES. And we should all just get used to MORE RAPING … as we have invited other cullllll-tures here who believe that women are like toilet tissues to be used and discarded.

  10. G’bye, Auntie Beeb, it was nice knowing you:
    http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-40624288
I remember watching the first episodes with William Hartnell in the role back when they aired on CBC starting in 1965. I resumed watching them on PBS when the station we get in Edmonton showed them.
When the “new and improved” version started, I watched for about a year and a half and then gave up. The show bored me and the episodes became increasingly silly.
Now the BBC appears to have bowed to the pressures of political correctness. It was fun while it lasted but now it’s time to call it quits.

  11. So on Facebook today there was an article from the Glop and Fail about a mosque in Montreal that has been looking for 20 years for a place to bury their dead – apparently without success. My suggestion of ‘big green garbage bags’ was not met with a lot of enthusiasm. Methinks I have offended their politically correct tender sensibilities. Hee hee.
