  1. So what hockey team did he play on in Syria, or was he just practicing his stick handling skills for the beer league team.

  2. “A Satisfied Mind” …. mildly depressing and self important.
“Worried Mind” ….. nice for a romantic dance or evening but still sad music.
Problems? Sure. But rise above and feel better. Try a little upbeat optimism instead and in spite of your problems. You’ll be better people for it:

  3. Didn’t the Liberals endlessly criticize the Conservative government for wanting to educate third world savages who immigrated. Maybe we should beat civilization into them – with a hockey stick?

  4. A few days ago I mentioned that I was “enjoying the decline” and not getting too upset by the rampant insanity we see everywhere, opining that it was “natural, organic and irreversible”. I had no pretensions of originality in saying this.
Here is a nice short and crisp summary of Strauss and Howe’s Fourth Turning thesis.
The Fourth Turning: A Summer Of Rage And The Total Eclipse Of The Deep State

In this book, authors William Strauss and Neil Howe make the argument that our ideas about the nature of history, linear time, and progress are illusory, and that if we want a more accurate concept about the way that history unfolds, we would do well to study the ancient Greek concept of cyclical time. This concept views national and global historical phenomenon not as randomly occurring events, or the linear march of historical “progress,” but instead sees them as recurring archetypes placed into a larger tapestry of a greater repeating historical cycle.

  5. Not ALL. Not all Fredrickton men. I will not be party to this prejudice. Some of my best friends are Fredrickton men, and most of them just want a better life for their families. I don’t know any Fredrickton men who beat their wives with a hockey stick for a half hour. Maybe ten minutes, tops, and usually with a cricket bat. The worst thing we can do is make other Fredrickton men feel unwelcome. I call for a moratorium on high-sticking penalties and any other racist rules.

  7. With a Liberal appointed judge or a Harper appointed one (same thing) he will get 2 minutes for high sticking.

  8. “In Canada, face masks are considered to contribute to our diversity.”
    Which no doubt they do.
Reinforcing the important point that “diversity” is neither intrinsically a good thing nor a bad one. Thus it’s merely a demographic feature and thus cannot possibly be a “Canadian value”.

German magazine Der Spiegel on Saturday said Trudeau had made his comments in a call with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who next month will host a G20 summit.”

“German Chancellor Angela Merkel had actually thought that Canada’s young, charismatic prime minister, Justin Trudeau, could be counted among her reliable partners. Particularly when it came to climate policy.

“‘I did not say that’: Trudeau disputes report that he appeased Trump on climate
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he didn’t suggest removing the Paris Agreement on climate change from an international statement in order to “appease” U.S. President Donald Trump, as German magazine Der Spiegel has reported.
Trudeau rejected an attempt to isolate climate-doubting Trump over his June 1 announcement that the United States would withdraw from the Paris Agreement, according to the Hamburg-based news agency. The prime minister was concerned about provoking Washington, the report said.
Trudeau himself insisted in Parliament on Monday that “no, I did not say that.””

  17. The error the media made on this one is assuming that Trudeau is the guy setting policy for Canada. Trudeau probably thought he was saying something non-commital. No one told him what the official policy should be.

  18. Today on CBC radio I listened to a lavish 30 minute interview of unabashed Marxist, Naomi Klein, hawking her latest book, denouncing President Trump. The questions they threw at her were very sympathetic and unchallenging.
However, more interesting was the following guest they interviewed, to offer a very succinct counterpoint to Klein’s rabid leftist views.
Ha-ha! Just kidding. There was no counterpoint.

  19. A little off topic, but I see the drama queen is going to apologize to the LGTB community for alleged past injustices. I have one question for Justin. When is he going to apologize to all Canadians for the mess that his father created and continues under his tenure.
