  9. Andrew Scheer did the right thing. The Conservatives vote against this bill and they would be pilloried by the libranos, media universities etc. Luddites, climate deniers would be the charge. No need to go there.
    It’s politics folks. In the whole scheme of things this vote is meaningless – unless you voted against it. It’s better to win the election than win an argument.

    Wow, that’s a pretty negative outlook, but I understand where you are coming from. We often see it mentioned just how stupid the average voter is, not really disagreeing, but I do see it slightly differently.
    Leftists can wander around between the Libs, the Dippers and the Greens to find a party most comfortable for their own special and personal version of leftardism. I think their world is managed by group-think and steady propaganda, as much as a true dedication to leftist ideologies. Certainly not the brightest our country has to offer, but at least they have choices.
    On the flip-side, real Conservatives can’t even find real Conservatives to man the only Conservative Party in Canada.
    OK, Lindal, maybe my outlook isn’t any more positive than yours, but I simply refuse to give up hope. I want my descendants to enjoy at least some of the freedoms my ancestors fought and died to achieve.

    Next they need to end the Nod-Nod-Wink lawsuits by activist groups against agencies like EPA, whereby this happens:
    1. Activist group sues to force the agency to regulate certain activities, even though there is no law that actually requires that regulation.
    2. Agency quickly settles, and with the backing of a court order or consent agreement, undertakes regulations that were never required or intended by Congress.
    3. Agency agrees to pay court costs and lawyers fees to the activist group for their time and effort.
    4. Activist group finds a new target, changes a few details in the original lawsuit filings, then returns to step 1. and files a “new” lawsuit to force regulation of additional activities.
    This pattern repeats, and each time around, new regulations are promulgated without a Congressional mandate, AND the activist groups are paid for court cost and fees as though the entire process was original work instead of a cut and paste job.

    This simply has to be so much BS. I’m sure it all has to do with firearms legislation requiring a license be provided but doesn’t require that it be written down. The RCMP expect stores to do an illegal backdoor registration. It will take 3 years to get to court and the gunstore will win but they will be bankrupt.

  38. My point is the logic that whatever a kid wants, the kid should get. It reminds me of the educational doctrine of “student as customer” and how I, while I was a post-secondary educator, has to meet everyone’s “needs and expectations”.

    Comey was worried that Trump might lie but provides no example or proof of Trump lying. Trump was more concerned about Comey lying. That’s why he taped it. The only criminal activity shown was Comey leaking government information to the press to get an independent prosecutor where the evidence didn’t warrant it. Perhaps an independent prosecutor needs to investigate Comey.
