  1. His only complaint about the Leftist Violence is that it is Ineffective. Not that it is wrong, that it is ineffective.

  2. He has correctly described how private sector unions eventually kill their members jobs but lacks the introspection required to see that socialism is premised on state coercion and thus all those on the left are indeed looters and thugs. The cowards of the left don’t physically participate but hide behind the state to do their dirty work while the “idealistic youth” and steely eyed zealots feel no such compunction.

  3. Kate, I would very much like you to read this extract please: –
“I understood the infamous spiritual terror which this movement exerts, particularly on the bourgeoisie, which is neither morally nor mentally equal to such attacks; at a given sign it unleashes a veritable barrage of lies and slanders against whatever adversary seems most dangerous, until the nerves of the attacked persons break down… This is a tactic based on precise calculations of all human weaknesses, and its result will lead to success with almost mathematical certainty…
I achieved an equal understanding of the importance of physical terror toward the individual and the masses… For while in the ranks of their supporters the victory achieved seems a triumph of the justice of their own cause, the defeated adversary in most cases despairs of the success of any further resistance.”
Now Kate, doesn’t that sound similar to your article? So, who made these insightful observations of political violence? The author was Adolf Hitler; the book was Mein Kampf; and the “movement” he was writing about was the socialist movement of pre-WWI Vienna (I’ll repeat that, pre-WWI).
That’s right it was the period 1909-1913 when Hitler was just a young tramp in the Austrian capital. Before World War I; ten years before there even was a National Socialist Party; no brown shirts, no gestapo, no right-wing street violence, no Fuehrer.
As William L Shirer wrote in The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich “No more precise analysis of Nazi tactics, as Hitler was eventually to develop them, was ever written.”
In other words, the violence we associate with the Nazi party was simple them copying the violent tactics, that Hitler observed being used, by the (left-wing) socialists a decade earlier.
The ‘spiritual’ and ‘physical terror’ that you observed being used by left-wing protesters today, is simply the tactics they have always used.

  4. “the people who control institutions care first and foremost about their power within the institution rather than the power of the institution itself.”
It can be one and the same thing.

  5. Dr. Jerry Pournelle, the originator of The Iron Law, has run what is arguably the Original Blog since the 1980s. He has long been a consistent Conservative, and is well worth following…
“I can make some claim to this being The Original Blog and Daybook. I certainly started keeping a day book well before most, and long before the term “blog” or Web Log was invented. BIX, the Byte information exchange, preceded the Web by a lot, and I also had a daily journal on GE Genie. Both of those would have been considered blogs if there had been any such term. All that was long before the World Wide Web…”

  6. But the conservative party is different! That institution is the sole exception to the rule! Everyone else’s parties are evil like you say. But that one party is different! And so very important!

  7. Exactly! You just reminded me of the Pol Pot teenage executioners whispering. “It is for the good of the people”, just before they slit your throat. Also, Lenin’s comment about making an omelet and using his black leather jacketed CHEKA executioners to kill any opposition.
As an aside, how many eco-thugs like Suzuki have you heard say, “Deniers should be jailed”.
AB, I’d forgotten that William Shirer had written that. I read that book fifty years ago or so when it first came out. book-of-the-Month selection.

  8. Don’t forget, it’s National SOCIALIST German WORKERS Party.
Socialism is collectivism by another name. Collectivism itself is one big pyramid scheme for power as well as money, enforced by intimidation, threats of violence, and violence itself.

  9. ‘political power grows out of the barrel of a gun’
thus sayeth mao. who better to know how applicable that little adage was in his blood soaked rise to power.
this is the same mao that turdeau 1.0 and turdeau 2.0 admire so much . . . .
my dad said it best watching the leftist protests on the news back in the 60s, the moment the revolution succeeds, the leadership does a purge to eliminate all the whiners and untrustworthy loudmouths.
