  5. Patrick Brown and the conservatives should not spend one time to try and win the next election. Let the liberals win another majority, then when the province goes bankrupt, they can come in and get rid of 30% of the civil servants and begin to clean up the mess. It will be painful but necessary.

  7. Just in the 15 to 24 age bracket? I am thinking all across the board actually. This wage hike will affect all low income workers and not so low income. When this comes in unless you have a good strong union wage increases will become a thing of the past. Not to mention resentment of people that have worked their way up the chain to earn that much and having all that effort wiped out with new employees making the same or just below what they are currently earning.

  13. Presumably, withdrawl from the Paris Accord will save the US 450 billion that was poised to go to China/India and countries that are taking jobs away from the US. This of course is a big loss for the globalist planners. Mean time, Canada is onside. How much of taxpayer dollars will we be sending to other countries? Will the government even tell us? We are already facing a huge debt. Why send even more money to what (with Trump’s withdrawl) seems like a loser cause? The Liberals are devastating our economy. Some adjustment to our Paris “committment” is required, but Trudeau does not seem prepared to address this.

  19. Fascinating — and unbelievable how people could be so duped on this issue — Canadians anyway. The inflationary impact of the carbon tax is going to be outrageous. I think our dollar will go down to about 50 cents US. The issue may help Scheer get elected — I certainly hope so as the Liberal deserve to be booted out for 100 years — but even scrapping the tax is not likely to result in lowered prices that will peculate through the system once the tax is in place and all sorts of things, food, etc. will be more expensive, including the cost of heating public buildings, so school taxes, municipal taxes, etc. will go up.

    It’s a vicious spiral downward! There will be no recovery until labour productivity increases to the point where employers can afford to pay more.
