Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood. - "Michael E. Zilkowsky
We know better to expect consistency from the left. The inevitable failure of their methods, whenever they’re tried, should lead them to realize “maybe there’s something wrong with our ideas”.
Instead, it provokes cries of “they were never really on our side anyways, they were part of the right all along!” Just like Mr. Hilter of Sommerset (my preferred Monty Python skit). Socialist darling of the 30s, meeting with all of the other high level socialists around the civilized world (imagine nose-in-the-air as that’s being said, it’s a poke at elitists), promoting national socialism over international but having no problem meeting with and making agreements with communists.
With airbrushes for direct modification of history, and selecting what portions of history are taught (and how) it can be relatively simple to re-cast the past. The Right treats Orwell’s writing as a cautionary tale. The Left treats it as a manual.
The article reads word-for-word … like a puff-piece on Obama. A very shallow and superficial portrayal meant to deflect and ignore the pathology that lies beneath the surface. It appears as though this is a particularly well-developed Muslim skill … Deception.
In my 20’s and 30’s, I loved to read Vogue and Vanity Fair but once they strayed into politics, I gave up on them. I wanted to ” Vomit,Vomit, Vomit” when both magazines did pieces on the Obamas and on our noble leader and his wife.
I would advise to stick to fashion advice, but from the expensive crap profiled in the last few years, I do not think they can even perform that job well.
$5K a month as a retainer?! That’s cab fare.
That must have been a typo(?)…
The Atlantic is hardly innocent in this regard.
2011 was obviously a long time ago and a different world, or was it, there was a time when everything that is in that article about Syria was not far from correct, Syria like Lebanon before it was a safe stable multicultural and multi ethnic country enjoying the fruits of its history, he says looking at his last two bottles of wine from the Bekar Valley..
So before we start the name calling just a caution as to how its all gone wrong and whilst its never easy to point a finger consider that Lebanon was a majority Christian country until very recently, Syria also once a christian country and home to Chaldeans/Greek/Russian /Syriac/Armenian churches amongst others as well as Jews / Zoroastrians, and finally late to the table the musselman and alawites of which the Assad family belong, they by mutual consent of all parties rode and administered a tight walk of balancing different cultural and tribal groups and did a pretty fair job.
I know many now old truck drivers that plied the roads down to the gulf during the 60s – 70’s Syria and Lebanon where safe and enjoyable places to travel and do business by all accounts, likewise in the oil patch working Syrian wells where not considered on the same level as the working the gulf states.
Just saying, personally I’m with Farage on this one, I’m scratching my head on where the POTUS was coming from, I’m holding back on judgement, Assad was winning, had just secured a POTUS that was to all intents and purposes neutral why use chemicals now, and against what exactly. I’m dubious of photos showing children, the track record isn’t good. Back when no one gave a damn and Saddam/Khomeini did use them against the Kurds the last thing you got were photographs maybe not everyone had a camera then but it took the world a long time to believe it had happened and even longer to attribute blame.
The Russians are embedded and have long long history in Syria it would make no sense at this juncture for them or Assad to use them and Assad is not going to do even were he capable of anything like that without the Russians knowing.
So the vogue article, despite everything else, back in 2011 its a pretty fair write up.
Well said C_Miner and DSV. Both Hitler and Stalin were touted by the left in the 1930s as examples of the shining socialist utopia of the future. Henry Ford, NYT journalist Walter Duranty and the industrialist Hammer come to mind.
Farage is right. Assad had everything to lose and nothing to gain with an alleged chemical attack. The whole thing smells fishy. Remember the dead Palestinian kid walking around after the video shoot.

Odd was told I was timed out and to try again..
Sorry for all the excess posts..
Sleeping Coyote is either an organ grinders monkey for the trolls on SDA or he is incredibly stupid..
In future please try not to repeatedly hit the send key. Wait a minute or two and your first submission should be delivered.
That happens, it’s best to keep a copy cached in a notepad application, and only send once. Unless you’re on a phone, in which case it’s a send-and-forget.
Here is another long one. Truly focused on Canada’s Political and Individual Rights;
When you read this Article about the Cruel Dictator of Syria and His Family I hope you will recognize the reference to how many People Asthma al-Assad murdered in the Current year of the Article, by Vogue. But did not mention the Murders in the previous Years.
Naturally we understand Assad’s number of Murders did not end with the Vogue Article.
However I hope you will also read about the Land of Syria, which is still a Land of NO-understanding of the Enlightenment, except the Elite Educated. The ones who do not become Suicide-Bombers or Terrorists.
At least; not the Refugees deliberately being driven into the Enlightened Cultures of Europe and encouraged by the Feckless Elites of Canada & America.
Fortunately; the Country of the “Great Experiment” where Individual Rights of the Individual is Supported by the Constitution of the United States of America. A strength of the Enlightened Individuals who have thrown the Washington Corrupt Elite of Democrat/RINO sewer sludge aside.
Unfortunately; the Country of Canada does not have the Individual Rights of the Individual and/or Property Rights of the Individual. A man’s/woman’s Home is no longer their Castle.
At least not since the First Trudeau Prime Minister and similar Elite Politicos-except Quebec’s Rene Levesque-Took away the Magna Charta; which, through the steady strengthing of the “Rights of Man and Citizens”, became the Legacy for Canadians with the British North America Act of 1867.
However the Legacy of Individual Rights/Property Rights were wiped out, without a Referendum, by the 1981-1982 Constitution of Canada. Yep!– we Canadians are now under the control of King John’s type of Monarchy, prior to 1215 BCE.
Now the problem is the Second Trudeau feels He has the right to follow “His Father’s Dream”. Naturally the “Father’s Dream” included forcing another reduction in the Canadian Culture through gaming the election process AND not having a Referendum.
Yes we sure got stuck with a winner in Juthtin, there is little that is more dangerous than a moron on a mission.
Whoops-1215 A.D
@DSV:
“I’m holding back on judgement, Assad was winning”
I am too. In the last few days I’ve learned some things I didn’t know about the earlier Ghouta gas attack in August of 2013 that lead me to believe that it was most probably a false flag event. I think that’s the best case now for this most recent Khan Shaykur attack also, using the same logic as you: why would Assad do this assuming he has any instinct for self preservation?
So far there’s no hard evidence on this attack. We’ll see what the “dossier” looks like when the Trump administration releases what they know that drove this attack, but I’m thinking it’s unlikely they’ll present any contrary evidence after the fact. Maybe no dossier will be released at all. You would expect they don’t want to repeat the mistakes in the dossier Kerry released on the 2013 attack.
The next time you get a ‘time out error’ open the discussion in another tab and discover that your nugget of wisdom has already been posted. That way you won’t look so foolish by posting multiple messages.
“French Vogue editor Joan Juliet Buck, did manage to spend some one-on-one time with both Asma and Bashar al-Assad, an exclusive many journalists might have killed for.”
My irony meter just broke. “might have killed for”.

Good point but discounting a no fly zone by the US and ‘boots on the ground’ I don’t think Iran will stand by and let ISIS, and the CIA, Mossad coalition forces retake ground won in hard fought battles..
I feel if the US tries oust Assad by force that there is a better than a 50/50 chance we see a live war with Russia and Iran..
Personally I don’t see this whole mess ending without major bloodshed and the slaughter of the losers..
And it goes without saying all the Christians will be slaughtered if the Sunnis win..
Sadly I see no solution beyond Assad remaining in power..
don’t bother. usually time outs have been posted. at least mine have and I no longer post a second time.
You can be forgiven for being confused by a blog that consistently takes 30-90 seconds to handle simple text postbacks.
