Considering Coyne recently asked sarcastically if anyone has been rounded up over M-103, this is particularly rich:

The Liberals have consistently elevated sleaze to an art-form. Also it seems that when it comes to Coyne’s scribes, the comments are more meaningful that the moral equivalence that precedes them. Perhaps that’s just him pretending to be balanced.

My buddy floated this thought a couple of days ago; his contention is that the liberals are practising their standard divisive politics by putting Motion M103 up in parliment. The objective of the bill is not to actually put M103 into practive, but to further showcase how open minded the liberals are and how xenophobic the conservatives are. I think he is onto something. And of course, being good little conservatives, our moral outrage spoke for us. Agreed that the contents of the bill are obscene, and that NO government in its right mind would pass this. But it works to underscore the differences in voting blocks, and right now Trudeau (the simpleton brand manager) is targetting Islamic groups.
We as conservatives need to stop rising to the bait, I think. To do so just underscores to the uninitiated youth and the rather ignorant newcomer that conservatives are racist.

Agreed. I’m not sure how opposing M103 could be construed as falling into their trap unless the response was over the top or could be viewed as such. The right response, however is still vigorous opposition and a clear summary of why it’s bad for Canada and Canadians.

You can respond to this a number of ways that puts the onus back on the liberals that want to label conservatives bigots.
1-I think one of the biggest contributors to islamiphobia is islamic terrorism, how does m103 address that?
2-How can someone construe someone is islamiphobic just because they don’t believe Mohammed ever existed?
3-Is it fair to give islamiphobia special attention and not to jewiphobia and Christiphobia?

That does not meant your comment didn’t get posted, it only means SDA couldn’t get back to you. The problem is likely with your ISP not SDA. When you get a timeout error open SDA in another TAB and you will see that your comment was posted.

It should be obvious from the public backlash to the motion that further attempts to morph it into an ‘anti-islamophobia’ law will be met with strong opposition, and will likely cause them to loose the next election. Any attempt to turn it into law will happen in the year before the next election, and it WILL be the defining issue that defeats the Lieberals. Whoever becomes the CPC leader will use this as a rallying point. We haven’t heard the end of this by a long shot.
