More Pavilions At Folkfest

Lessons from the Dutch election;

Nationalism was the centerpiece of the rise of liberal democracies because liberal democracy was built around the liberation of nations. Liberals in Europe and America did not deny that, but they simply could not grasp that the nation cannot exist unless the people feel a common bond that makes them distinct. The claim was that it was legitimate to have a nation, but not legitimate to love it inordinately, to love it more than other nations, to value the things that made it different, and above all, to insist that the differences be preserved, not diluted.

Great essay. (h/t DB)

  1. “They had nowhere else to go, and nothing to lose.”
Let the revolt against the elites continue.

  2. The fact that he came from the back of the pack into 2nd place shows the Dutch are waking up to the realization their country is in peril from idiotic immigration policies. I would consider that a step in the right direction. Next election is almost a guaranteed win.

  3. The elected Dutch leader gained support near the election date. He did so by standing up to the not idle threat, of the Turkey’s new Caliph, to overwhelm Europe with an another wave, one of hijra, the invasion by military, age, male Muslims.
Turkey’s Erdogan thinks Western Europe should realize that resistance is futile.
To see as followers of Mo’s precepts, “I’ve been made victorious by means of terror.”
The ongoing attacks on France, Belgium and now Germany. If they aren’t enough.
He has another wave of infantry battalions marching and marine battalions boating across the Mediterranean into dar al harb(the house of war), as in 2015 and 2016.
This time, unlike the last attempt in 1683, the jihadi have passed the Gates of Vienna and are inside the castle of Europe.
Islam believes in the Caliphate, not individual, sovereign nation-states.
Thus the unholy alliance with cultural Marxists, who believe in a global dictatorship, that would replace the nation-state, too.
Gert Wilders party did not acutally take power but set the political agenda.
Then the party already in power took up vocal defence of the Netherlands, when the Turkish would be Caliph threatened. Thus retaining power as the civilizational war heats up.
Europe is in the early stages of a 30 to 100 year war, the outcome of which is uncertain.
The article’s comment’s section is most interesting, also.

  4. Indeed, scorn IS worse than poverty. And the libs … both poor and elite are heaping scorn on the “populists” … and I already know which side will win. Winning.

  5. Muslimes enslave their women and breed like rodents. Let them in and they will win.

  6. Great comment. Excerpt, “Islam believes in the Caliphate, not individual, sovereign nation-states.
Thus the unholy alliance with cultural Marxists, who believe in a global dictatorship, that would replace the nation-state, too.”
This would explain our current prime minister’s immediate post-election comment, “We are now a post-national state”.
As well, “Europe is in the early stages of a 30 to 100 year war, the outcome of which is uncertain.”. So true. When the old Soviet Union collapsed I commented to my daily coffee group gathering that we face a more serious enemy in the future, that being a newly militant Islam.
Larry’s comment about western cultural Marxism believing in a global dictatorship, open borders etc, and thus enabling the Islamic dreams of a world Caliphate, has blinded the cultural Marxists to in the long term their enemy also.
Both the cultural Marxists and militant Islamists abhor free people and free enterprise.

  7. Larry’s comment about western cultural Marxism believing in a global dictatorship, open borders etc, and thus enabling the Islamic dreams of a world Caliphate, has blinded the cultural Marxists to in the long term their enemy also.
I don’t think it’s so much being blinded to what Islam’s objectives are but more like not caring. Remember, the Frankfurt School Marxists wanted to overthrow all of western civilization but weren’t in the least bit concerned about what replaced it, if anything.

  8. Well at least half of Canadians bond on this.
    –
Nearly half of Canadians want to deport people who are illegally crossing into Canada from the United States, and a similar number disapprove of how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is handling the influx, according to a Reuters opinion poll released on Monday.
PM Pretty Boy loves his Tacos.

  9. Canadians appeared to be just as concerned about illegal immigration as their American neighbors, according to the poll, which was conducted between March 8-9. Some 48 percent said they supported “increasing the deportation of people living in Canada illegally.”
When asked specifically about the recent border crossings, the same number – 48 percent – said Canada should “send these migrants back to the U.S.” Another 36 percent said Canada should “accept these migrants”.
In the United States, where President Donald Trump was elected partly on his promise to boost deportations, 50 percent of adults supported “increasing the deportation of illegal immigrants,” according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted in the same week.

  10. Gee, if only SDA commenters said as much cheerful stuff about Wild Rose coming back from oblivion and taking a higher number of seats to retain second place while the Alberta Progressives went for 1st to 3rd as they have for Geert Wilders’ Freedom Party, eh?
Nah, talk is cheap and loyalty to actual ideals sells even cheaper.
Hurray for Geert Wilders! May he survive until the next general election, eh?
