  5. Crows. About ten years ago, I came across a juvenile bald eagle trying to get some scraps of meat off a well picked-over deer carcass. Six crows had other ideas. Three were harassing from the front while three snuck in and picked at the carcass right under the eagle’s tail. Suddenly, the eagle would realize he was being robbed, and would jump up and do a 180. The crows picking at the carcass would retreat a yard or so and commence flapping and caw-ing at the eagle. While he was focused on them, the other three would then sneak in and snack. I watched this for ten minutes, laughing my ass off. That eagle never got a nibble of venison the whole time.
    Another time I came across some fresh road kill deer. Based on the Denali on a hook I had met closer tomRed Deer, probably an hour had passed since the deer and the Denali had failed to successfully occupy the same point in space-time. Some coyotes, magpies, and crows were all feasting at the banquet God and General Motors had provided. However, crows being crows, I was forced to pull over lest my laughing put me in the ditch. One of the coyotes had partaken his fill, and was a ways down the ditch trying to dump some of the previous day’s bounty. He was hunched up like a dog taking a you-know-what, and a pair of crows were having a world of fun making that chore even more difficult. They were flapping around his head and his tail, pecking at him while he was trying to take a dump.
    It was hilarious.

  24. I wouldn’t give too much credence to the Trump Bump phenomenon we’re experiencing. Sure, the market reflects future sentiment but the reasons for the bump are many and varied.
    Here’s an interesting read on why now (during Trump’s mandate) would be a good time for globalists to deflate the bubble and pin it on the current conservative uprising.
    All they really have to do is raise rates.

  28. my uncle was at Ortona and lived long enough to make it back to the, what the hell do you call it when you commemorate your survival of a vicious battle? He went back with some of the men who survived.

  29. I told an old German guy that my family came from not far from Stalingrad. He told me that he had been in Stalingrad. I congratulated him on surviving. He said he was lucky in that he got wounded badly enough that they flew him out. Of the ones left trapped in Stalingrad maybe 10% survived years of Russian prison.
