The articles seem complete nullities to me — more descriptive of anecdotes than anything else. There has been little to no comment around here about any of this, which I find odd. It appears to me that a bunch of people, soon very likely to substantially increase in numbers as word gets around, are risking life and limb, literally, to escape the United States (afraid of something, which fear can’t all be based on group-think hysterical left-wing nonsense; there is reference is some cases to their having being found illegal aliens by the U.S. government, and their behaviour would make all of them, at the point of entry, illegal immigrants to Canada, as well, clearly).
Some questions:
1. Does this not constitute a threat to Canadian sovereignty that anybody’s concerned about?
2. Who are these people, and what are the motivations for their fear beyond the possibility of deportation back to their country of origin?
3. What’s the policy response? Are we okay with all of this, and okay just to let it happen? Are we okay with the police, or Canada Post employees, serving as a taxi service to the nearest border crossing kiosk or refugee shelter, which are sure to be overwhelmed soon, if they aren’t already?
4. What are we going to do with them once they’re here? Who’s going to pay for all of the costs of having them here?
5. What are the standards of acceptability for entry on a permanent basis, and how many are we willing to take, and should this not be organized in advance (as in get ahead of this thing)?
Seems to me that we have the potential for a “southern border problem” now as well. Crickets seems to be the response from those responsible for dealing with this situation. Blaming Donald Trump is not an answer, only an excuse: U.S. immigration issues have been on the table for a long time, and a policy response like his was certainly a significant possibility at some point. I’d wager that now that the Rubicon has been crossed on dealing with those issues, it’s not going to go away anytime soon. This is now a Canadian problem, and not an American one.
Wrt to juthtin meeting with Trump.
Trump is plain spoken and will be looking for answers to two questions. When will juthtin have a negotiation team ready for NAFTA renegotiation, and when juthtin tables his next budget will Canada’s defence spending be raised to 2% of GDP. Everything else is moot.
Now these answers will require juthtin to respond without a scripted response, so you have to ask what can go wrong when juthtin has to adlib with out a script?

The interesting thing about these ‘asylum seekers’ who are coming into Canada as refugees is that they have been doing so for months. I remember catching this story back in the Fall. It was barely a blip on the radar but now it’s getting covered more because it can be seen as fitting the anti-Trump narrative.
Is there some connection to the religion of Islam and obsession with sex? Why can’t men and women worship together in their places of worship? Is there really that extreme disregard for women and their rights as persons? Is there really no control over primal urges among those of that faith? It’s just so puzzling.
If it is proven as alleged that a Syrian refugee has sexually violated young girls here in Canada is this not grounds for deportation? It’s really not possible to screen for such crimes but if it becomes more prevalent perhaps we need to rethink our immigration policies and stipulate that is not allowed under our laws, women are respected here, they are equal to men.

Every year the climate data would show a complete refusal to follow the accepted and official line, and every year the faith of the climate change faithful only seemed to get stronger and stronger. And their abuse of heretics like myself only got stronger and stronger. I have lost friendships over my stance on this issue. I have been attacked publicly by those around me on numerous occasions. And I have endured the casual mockery at social gatherings where the accepted response has been to pat me on the head in a condescending manner – here he is; our own climate denier. Isn’t he precious?
I have watched landscapes I love destroyed by the looming figures of gigantic wind farms that stand in mute mockery of my continued resistance to this enormous scam. I have observed with silent loathing the hypocrites who swan around in their enormous SUVs while proudly parading their dubious green credentials, even as ordinary families struggle with the reality of paying their ever-increasing power bills. Only a few months ago, a piece I wrote on the climate change scam elicited concerned emails and calls from people I know who cautioned me with the treacherous path I was taking.
But money talks and bulls— walks, and the money is beginning to drop out of this con to end all cons.

I’ve seen the director’s cut in which certain bits that weren’t included in the original release were shown. Those add to the length of the movie and, in my opinion, don’t add a whole lot to the overall story.
One of the reasons that this movie is held in such high regard was the authenticity. Leone wanted to have as many of the details in the movie to be correct, so, for example, the reference to General Sibley was genuine. Henry Hopkins Sibley commanded a Confederate unit in New Mexico, which would have been a backwater during the American Civil War.
We used to take our girl friends to the drive in to watch these . 2 hours and 40 minutes was not long enough

4. What are we going to do with them once they’re here? Who’s going to pay for all of the costs of having them here?
5. What are the standards of acceptability for entry on a permanent basis, and how many are we willing to take, and should this not be organized in advance (as in get ahead of this thing)?
Seems to me that we have the potential for a “southern border problem” now as well. Crickets seems to be the response from those responsible for dealing with this situation. Blaming Donald Trump is not an answer, only an excuse: U.S. immigration issues have been on the table for a long time, and a policy response like his was certainly a significant possibility at some point. I’d wager that now that the Rubicon has been crossed on dealing with those issues, it’s not going to go away anytime soon. This is now a Canadian problem, and not an American one.
Wrt to juthtin meeting with Trump.
Trump is plain spoken and will be looking for answers to two questions. When will juthtin have a negotiation team ready for NAFTA renegotiation, and when juthtin tables his next budget will Canada’s defence spending be raised to 2% of GDP. Everything else is moot.
Now these answers will require juthtin to respond without a scripted response, so you have to ask what can go wrong when juthtin has to adlib with out a script?

Is there some connection to the religion of Islam and obsession with sex? Why can’t men and women worship together in their places of worship? If it is proven as alleged that a Syrian refugee has sexually violated young girls here in Canada is this not grounds for deportation? It’s really not possible to screen for such crimes but if it becomes more prevalent perhaps we need to rethink our immigration policies and stipulate that is not allowed under our laws, women are respected here, they are equal to men.

It’s been a rough ten years as a so-called “climate denier”. Every year the climate data would show a complete refusal to follow the accepted and official line, and every year the faith of the climate change faithful only seemed to get stronger and stronger. And their abuse of heretics like myself only got stronger and stronger. I have lost friendships over my stance on this issue. I have been attacked publicly by those around me on numerous occasions. And I have endured the casual mockery at social gatherings where the accepted response has been to pat me on the head in a condescending manner – here he is; our own climate denier. Isn’t he precious?
I have watched landscapes I love destroyed by the looming figures of gigantic wind farms that stand in mute mockery of my continued resistance to this enormous scam. I have observed with silent loathing the hypocrites who swan around in their enormous SUVs while proudly parading their dubious green credentials, even as ordinary families struggle with the reality of paying their ever-increasing power bills. Only a few months ago, a piece I wrote on the climate change scam elicited concerned emails and calls from people I know who cautioned me with the treacherous path I was taking.
But money talks and bulls— walks, and the money is beginning to drop out of this con to end all cons.

I’ve seen the director’s cut in which certain bits that weren’t included in the original release were shown. Those add to the length of the movie and, in my opinion, don’t add a whole lot to the overall story.
One of the reasons that this movie is held in such high regard was the authenticity. Leone wanted to have as many of the details in the movie to be correct, so, for example, the reference to General Sibley was genuine. Henry Hopkins Sibley commanded a Confederate unit in New Mexico, which would have been a backwater during the American Civil War.
