How the Mainstream Media Constructs #FakeNews

Imagine you’re a typical news consumer reading these three independent stories about Trump’s directive for all U.S. ambassadors to leave their posts by January 20th:

  1. New York Times
  2. Washington Post
  3. Reuters

Reading just these [supposedly] “straight” news pieces, what impression would you be left with? Perhaps that President Elect Donald J. Trump is a heartless bastard who doesn’t care about families & children? That seems to be a recurring theme.
Now read this and this. Given that you now know that Obama did exactly the same thing, has your impression changed?

  1. The links are all mixed up.
Two of the Obama links are in the Trump list, and a Trump link is in the Obama list.

  2. When I first read this a couple of days back in my E-mail,I immediately fact checked to see if this was S.O.P.,having learned to never trust the msm.
Sure enough, past Presidents, including Obama, did the same thing.
    But…OUTRAGE! TRUMP!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! etc., etc.,etc…..

  3. Let us see now.
This character “Neumann the president of the American Academy of Diplomacy” no less, does not know how things work in real life. That in itself is not really a surprise.
It is altogether another thing that he does not know from recent history how things work in real life.
That’s why them academics get the big bucks.
    Disgorge propaganda.
Bet you, you could write a whole thick book on BS in high places like this.

  4. I think the difference is this time we know the drill and Trump knows the drill. He’s not George Bush. They’ll still try but they’ll fail like they’ve been failing for what a year now? Remember Trump had ZERO chance. None. In the eyes of the lamestream press. In fact democrats wanted Trump because he was so beatable in their minds. I just hope they never smarten up.

  5. A new symptom of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). Digital paralysis and the inability to type search terms into Google.

  6. I was a young Sasaktchewan lad when Premier Ross Thatcher and the Liberals were defeated by Allan Blakeney and the NDP in 1971. My buddy had a job as a janitor at the legislature. Not exactly a position to be envied by anyone. One week after Mr. Blakeney was installed as premier, my friend received a letter stating that he was no longer employed. He had gotten the job as a political favour. He moved to Alberta and got a job on the rigs, never to return to Saskatchewan. Such events happen at every election, and everywhere in the world.
I was a bulldozer operator with a private highway contractor. I also lost my job because my boss was Liberal, and couldn’t get a contract with the NDP.

  7. ” has your impression changed?”
About the lying piece of crap mulatto? Not one effing bit.
About Trump? Nope. He said he would drain the swamp, and this is as good a place as any to start. To bad he couldn’t boot the little potato head.

  8. What WILL Caroline Kennedy do after Jan. 20 ? She’ll be the FIRST homeless Kennedy. All the family fortune squandered on mistress payments. And she looks sooooo olllld ? Who will hire her now ? Ohhhhh mammmmaaaa … Trump is sooooo cruel !
    Cry me a river.

  9. Fake news is close to the truth. They are not really lying, just failing to tell the whole truth and this leaves the impression that only big bad Trump is the only PEOTUS that has ever done this.
BTW, this is the sort of “news” that Canadians have been subjected to for decades.

  10. I should mention, thanks Robert for assembling this little collage of a perfect example of blatant media misinformation.

  11. Thanks for the tip. I just reviewed the links. They’re precisely in the order they should be.

  12. Three obvious examples of fake news from the mainstream media:
    1. 97% of climate scientists accept the global warming hypothesis.
Wrong; it’s more like 50-50. The 97% was an unscientific poll of scientists, journalists, bus drivers and homeless scroungers, among others.
    2. Women are underpaid relative to men.
Wrong; there is little difference between a man and a woman doing the same job with approximately the same amount of skill for the same company, which is the only rational comparison. If all women as a group average less than all men as a group, it’s because they make different life choices than men. Because, among other things, they’re “more nurturing”, as the feminists like to tell you when it suits them.
    3. Trump allegedly uses the word “bigly”.
Wrong; “big league”. Long since explained properly but still shows up.

  13. Knowing that this has been SOP for a very long time I dismissed it as the bull sh it it was.

  14. Multimillionaire or billionaire nouveau riche “donors” buying ambassador positions
are more a source of amusement than anything else unless they have more sinister
financial motives. In any case, all the day to day donkey work is still left to the
“professional foreign service people” while his highness hobnobs with his elite local
bros. in Bunga-Bunga or where ever. It would be more interesting if they were also
permitted to recruit their own embassy staffers and then have the performance of such
“private enterprise” embassies measured against comparable in size and importance
    “public enterprise” facilities.

  15. CBS is still in the fake news business. Here is how CBS radio reported on the Chicago Facebook beating. Fake but definitely not accurate.
CBS News Assailed for ‘Distorted and Biased’ Report on Chicago Facebook Beating
“The viral video of a beating and knife attack in Chicago suggests the assault had racial overtones. CBS’s Dean Reynolds tells us the victim is described as a mentally challenged teenager.
In the video he is choked and repeatedly called the n-word. His clothes are slashed and he is terrorized with a knife. His alleged captors repeatedly reference Donald Trump.”

  16. This regards Trump’s firing of all political-appointee ambassadors. It’s from an article that appears at the great blog Gates of Vienna. This is from a letter GoV received from a Czech citizen:
“I am a Czech citizen of Bulgarian ancestry…As you know better than I do, the lame-duck Obama administration was very friendly towards the Muslim expansion. I am sorry to say that this was the case with the American embassy in Prague as well. Obama’s ambassador, a certain Mr. Andrew Schapiro (a political appointee, not a professional diplomat), was very happy to support a variety of Islamic causes in our country. He gave grants to various multicultural NGOs, ostentatiously visited a mosque (there are just a few in the country so far), supported a brainwashing project called “Islam into schools”, which was finally stopped due to the backlash from the parents, etc. I am afraid that his tenure resulted in some permanent damage here, although the Czech public remains healthily skeptical about Islam.”

Here’s to Trump getting rid of all the rats and roaches currently infesting our government who provide aid and assistance to our Muslim enemies . Go get ’em, Donald!

  17. So, you want me to read our modern-day versions of the Soviet Union’s Pravda?
    Really?
I think I’d get more honesty from the 1950s and 1960s Mad Magazine.

  18. My wife asked THE MOST RELEVANT QUESTION about this horror show … what will happen to a baby gestating in the womb of a woman that has been bombarded with male hormones ? Why no outrage that the child will never be able to breastfeed ? The leftist ghouls contort themselves into bizarre shapes with their “progressive” deconstruction of culture
