  1. I have never contributed to readers tips, but I was outraged by this MetroNews.ca Vancouver headline of “Troubled Berlin attack suspect sought better life in Europe”
    http://www.metronews.ca/news/world/2016/12/22/troubled-berlin-attack-suspect-sought-better-life-in-europe.html
    This is truly sickening.
“His mother said she saw no sign that Amri had radicalized.”
“His father and I are disabled. So he was forced to steal to emigrate and get … goods that young people dream of,” she said.

  2. Yes, that was one of Rex’s best. The wheels are falling off the Lieberal bandwagon, and there’s murmurs from the crowd: “The Dauphin’s Not Wearing Any Clothes”. Even Peter-the-National has stopped the obsequious fawning over PM”small-potato”™, and the AFNs are referring to him as Chief Notafuknclew.

  3. I was rather under the impression, I got to him first… 🙂

    RE: Statement on Fidel Castro
    rona.ambrose@parl.gc.ca Fri 12/9/2016 12:11 PM
Thank you for your correspondence following the death of Fidel Castro.
With Fidel Castro’s passing, my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Cuba, who continue to endure his long and oppressive regime, even after his death. Under his rule, thousands were impoverished, thousands were imprisoned and executed, and free speech, thought and assembly were curtailed and banned. All this to live up to Fidel Castro’s version of “socialism.”
Canadians were shocked and appalled by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s inappropriate statement regarding Fidel Castro’s passing. On their behalf, Prime Minister Trudeau described Fidel Castro as a remarkable leader. I have repeatedly asked Prime Minister Trudeau what he was thinking when he eulogized one of the world’s worst dictators. Distressingly, he continues to stand by his statement.
Canada and the Cuban people have had a long and warm friendship over many years. With the passing of Fidel Castro, I know Canadians join me in wishing for brighter days ahead for the people of Cuba. My hope is that Cubans may live in freedom and in a country where democracy, human rights and the rule of law are enshrined.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to write.
    Yours truly,
The Hon. Rona Ambrose, P.C., M.P.
    Leader of the Official Opposition

    Dear Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau
You do not speak for me, in your offer of condolences and ‘deep and lasting affection for “el Commandante”’.
With your rash and unmeasured words you have unleashed heaps of scorn and mockery:
    https://twitter.com/search?q=trudeaueulogy
In the same vein one could be writing eulogies for Timur:
Tamerlane while ‘controversial’ will be missed for his contributions to ‘urban renewal’, as will his efforts at skull pyramid art.
I suggest you take some time to reflect on the outright ahistorical paean to what can only be described as brutal dictator.
This renders your same day released statement on the Holodomor a black farce.
I am sorry to inform you but your statements on Castro and the Holodomor on the same day are MONUMENTALLY STUPID and in direct contradiction
to each other. The victims of communism aren’t just something you can gloss over; despite your love and admiration for basic dictatorship.
I am embarrassed to have you as my Prime Minister.
If this reflects the level of your historical governmental awareness, you should be fired.
    Cheers

  4. Trivia for the day
Kirsty MacColl the female voice on that Pogues song was a talented song writer and Tracy Ullman recorded many of her songs. Kirsty was killed age 41 in a boating accident in Mexico in 2000.
Her songwriter father Ewan MacColl a Scot born James Henry Miller was ‘a communist with very extreme views’.
He is best known for writing the monster hit ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’.
    Puzzle that.

  5. To All My Liberal/Democrat Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2017, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that the U.S. is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only country in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.
    To All My Conservative/Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

  7. With respect to the song, there was some controversy a few years ago about playing it on the radio in the U. K. One of the lyrics contains a word which certain people may find offensive. The result is that broadcasters decided to bleep it out each time it was played.
I don’t know if that’s still the case, though.
Some years later, I was going to fly to visit my father for the holidays. As I sat waiting in the departure lounge at the airport, that song just happened to be played in the background. Since I’d heard about the aforementioned censorship, I listened closely. No bleeping of any kind.
Maybe whoever made up the background music playlist for that day didn’t know about the objectionable term or didn’t think it was important. Frankly, the only way one would notice is one listened closely to the lyrics which, given that it was played at an airport, most people were unlikely to do.
An alternative would have been to have a version of the song suitable for broadcast, such as what I think was used for the Dire Straits song Money for Nothing over 30 years ago.

  8. Is there nothing Obama can’t do?
    ————————————
JERUSALEM (AP) — An Israeli official on Friday accused President Barack Obama of colluding with the Palestinians in a “shameful move against Israel at the U.N.” after learning the White House did not intend to veto a Security Council resolution condemning settlement construction in the West Bank and east Jerusalem the day before.

  9. More and more people are starting to realize
who and what we are up against. Finally people are waking up to the fact that the left are not reasonable. They say they value freedom and democracy but demand zero disagreement from their world view. Democracy with one party to vote for is the end goal.

  10. @Fearless Leader:
Prince Charles said, “My parents’ generation fought and died in a battle against intolerance, monstrous extremism and inhuman attempts to exterminate the Jewish population of Europe.”
And immediately after reading this I just knew this guy was either poorly informed or an idiot who wanted to rewrite history.
