Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I believe it was Oscar Levant who said that Zsa Zsa Gabor has found the secret of eternal middle age.
I noticed on the boob tube, they did not give credit for her best and funniest role…Green Acres.I guess for the new millenniums a farm wife is not cool.
That was her sister Eva.
Wasn’t that character played by her sister Eva?
Green Acres was Eva Gabor, not Zsa Zsa.

Yer, thinkin’ bout her ‘wicked twister’ Eva Gabor who starred in Green Acres providing much laughter; gone and missed since 1995.
Zsa Zsa’s best line; poking fun at herself for her husband collecting wiles:
“I am a marvelous housekeeper. Whenever I get divorced, I keep the house.”
Never at a loss for a husband, to keep her in emerald earrings.

There were some great quotes from the day Zsa Zsa had in court when she was convicted in Sep 1989 for slapping a police officer:
“I’m disappointed. I can’t believe it,” Gabor said, moments before the premises were cleared because of a bomb threat. “I can’t believe that in a country as great as ours that a 6-foot-4 policeman can beat up a lady of 5-foot-4 and use dirty language as if she was a street walker. I think Russia can’t be worse, or communist Hungary.”
Asked how she felt about the prospects of jail, she said: “That would be wonderful. I’d have time to write my book.”
“If I go to jail, Bistro Gardens (a restaurant) said they would serve me food three times a day.”
She had a larger than life wicked sense of humor and the spunk to back it up. Most of the time her humor worked mahhhvalessly…but not every dahling she ran into appreciated it and could get outta the way fast enough.
Whenever the Gabor sisters come up, I can’t help but think of Merv Griffin. Never thought I’d miss Merv but he was better than anything that’s on late night TV nowadays.
Green Acres was laugh out loud funny. Lisa(Eva Gabor) would mispronounce a word; shoot was shoost, flute was fife, parachute was parashoes and right after Oliver would correct her, Eb or someone else would come in and pronounce the word the ‘Lisa way’.
Oliver would do one of his soliloquys about the nobility of the American farmer complete with flutes playing in the background and Lisa would say “there go those fifes again”
Oliver was the only sane person in a completely mad topsy turvey setting.
“I am a marvelous housekeeper. Whenever I get divorced, I keep the house.”
Strangely, my wife enjoyed that comment also..
