Uber suspended the driver? Playing the liberal blame game to almost perfection. Too bad for Uber that the Fake News has been negated by social media and blogs like SDA. Thank you to Kate and all the other Real News Media for outing these lying liberal-socialist snowflakes.

If they suspended the driver of the self-driving car it wasn’t a self-driving car. It was being driven by remote control.

To get everyone using auto-driving vehicles will require government legislation.
This will be preceded by software billionaires donating to a foundation named after a former Prime Minister related to a current Prime Minister.
The glitches causing accidents, maiming and death, will be written off by the government claiming an overall increase in public safety.
This according to the data released by the aforementioned software companies.
The self-driving vehicles will only be allowed to take a passenger to locations authourized in advance by the government, and by routes so authourized as well.
As for cycling and walking, both will be prohibited, and replaced by mandatory use of Segway devices controlled by the same on going government protocols.
All this if for your own good, non-believers will be punished by …

Do you think that it is just a random choice by UBER to use a Volvo XC for their driverless demo car ? One of the “safest” rated car on the road ? Or more accurately … one of the most “perceived to be safe” car by the general public ? Of course not. Uber needs to send a subliminal message that says … “You will be safe in our driverless cars”. BTW … You DO know that a T-bone crash … usually the result of running a red light … is the most devastating of all crashes (apart from a high-speed head-on crash).
In a related story … the (anti-automobile) city of San Francisco BLAMES Lyft and Uber for traffic gridlock in the city.

The city LOVES the Taxi-drivers UNION more than they love “the people”
I suspect they will love driverless cars even less … no jobs, no UNION.

What a great time to be a personal injury lawyer with self driving cars and delivery drones. That Amazon drone just missed but now I’ll suffer from PTSD for the rest of my life.

And, Lo, the Government spoke, and so it will come to pass, thou wilt be a “passenger” in a self driving vehicle. Traffic lights will be “intelligent”.

“The proposed rule announced today would require automakers to include V2V technologies in all new light-duty vehicles. The rule proposes requiring V2V devices to “speak the same language” through standardized messaging developed with industry.
Separately, the Department’s Federal Highway Administration plans to soon issue guidance for Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communications, which will help transportation planners integrate the technologies to allow vehicles to “talk” to roadway infrastructure such as traffic lights, stop signs and work zones to improve mobility, reduce congestion and improve safety.”

Two things. First, the only thing left to wonder about with the robot cars is how long before they start delivering Conservatives directly to the police station for tuning in to Rush Limbaugh on the car radio.
Second, and more to the point, now would be an excellent time to invest in a classic car. Reason being, the classic car hobby has an extremely well funded lobby in the USA. Bigger than the NRA. A 1964 Buick will not decide to take you to the cop shop if you tune in the wrong radio station.

Self Driving cars….meh, as if….might have to consider accessorizing above vehicle with an RPG…tuned to the same “language” as those contraptions…
