   As long as I can remember, other than the Israeli’s telling the Arabs to back-off or die, the Mideast has been embroiled in one war after another with Muslimes killing Muslimes. What’s the problem with that? Sell guns, ammo, and bombs to both aides; help them kill each other faster. Accept no refugees; let them go to other Muslime countries.
   North America had the capability to be energy independent decades ago with nuclear and advanced drilling and production techniques. Stick a reactor on the oil-sands and we’ve got all the oil we need for hundreds of years, with far less mess than open-pit mining like now. All sorts of technologies become feasible when energy is cheap and plentiful.
   We’re at this point because of wilful meddling by the MIC lobbyists pushing politician’s emotional and financial buttons with the notion that foreign wars are good and heroic endeavours to sacrifice your sons and daughters.

3. None of it has anything to do with oil, the “war for oil” leftist cry has been debunked for more than a decade, please grow up. There were a lot of very bad reasons to get involved in that war (the way it was executed without end game) and subsequent wars, the reasons for alleged “nation building” were even worse. None of it has to do with oil. If it had to do with oil, if “kick their ass, take their gas” was a viable profitable strategy, that war would have been a good idea.
