  1. Not my favourite hymn, though I admit is different when the bagpipes weigh in – Canmore Highland Games and it resounds among the mountains. Myself, I want to be wafted out of church to a pippie playing “79th Farewell to Gibralter”.

  2. I watched the 6:00 PM news tonight on Radio-Canada French TV out of Regina, Sk. I am bilingual. I was hoping that the French portion of the CBC would have shown a tad more savvy than their English-Liberal counterparts!! Non!! A few highlights.
They showed footage of Standing Rock, ND. They did show countless cars and trucks which CBC and CTV rarely show. . How did they get there without a pipeline feeding them?? And a cold wind now blows over the flat prairie, (12F) so the tents will have to be heated.. Heating a tent does requires petroleum based fuels?? Non??
A psychologue claims that the high numbers of native suicides in young people are the results of colonization, not mental illness. Wow?? Dr. Darian Thira works with native bands across Canada. Like hello Doc, all of Saskatchewan was colonized, not just the native portions of the province!!
Syrians arriving in Canada are having problems finding jobs because they have no ”Canadian” experience, claims the story. No! That can’t be? What? Nobody is buying snowshoes and traps anymore?
Windmills in Saskatchewan are supposed to produce 50% of our power by 2030. Slight problem. Wind only blows 50% of the time. Where will the other 50% come from??
Pipeline security was discussed. We won’t go there.
Panhandling seems to be a problem in Regina. At -22C?? I doubt it. And it is the Yuletide season!
Only one positive report. Possibilities of a new ”non-COOP” oil refinery in SE Sask. Now that is a warm breath of wind on this cool Dec. day.
Conclusion; Don’t watch the news on TV!!.

  3. Apparently they are being advised to use yurts, not tents. Would think they should at least – to honour the ancestors – go the tipi route.

  4. Re: Syrian Refugees
How all other immigrants over many waves that came to Canada, without Canadian experience, without language skills were able to look for a job the moment they arrived and secure it in a short term? I know I am one of them and I am still sort involved with (economic) immigration.
At least 90% of Syrian refugees are going end up on welfare – that’s the fact. Partial reason is that is not not very economical to take on survival job while you have several children for which you receive (Harper’s) federal allowance. Nevertheless , when you elect a potato as PM that’s what happens.

  5. I’m confused: Didn’t Suzuki (Dr. Fruit Fly) and I believe Elizabeth May (Green Party)said that Harper and the conservatives should be tried and put in jail?
Why doesn’t the Main Stream Media (MSM) not talk about this rather than saying that this is like “Trump Style” of politics? Even one of the hosts on afternoon feature from QR77 in Calgary attack the anti-carbon Tax protesters on this – br4cause the Rebel Media was a sponsor … the host does not appear to give any credibility to the Rebel Media. This was never brought up. SAD

  6. Not totally fair. Alexander was being attacked by the media because he did not stop the chant. (As though he could!) He doesn’t have to clarify to get out of their cross-hairs. A similar media pile-on would never happen at a Liberal affair where bad behavior is routinely overlooked.

  7. It’s probably because “Trump Hating” is the new “Harper Hating”, “Bush Hating” rhetoric we’ve been seeing for decades. The libtards just change the surname label of whomever they’re hating this year.
It’s even easier for the alt.right, they simply trot out and dust off the “Trudeau Hating” rhetoric they used on his dad.

  8. That was supposed to say DOES have to clarify. Don’t be manipulated by media attempts to smear.

  9. The Syrian refugees – according to many keen observers – were total pawns for the new Trudeau government; they got those Syrians in here real quick. Photo ops (hypocritical), looking good and “do gooders” were what motivated shiny small potato to get those Syrians to Canadastan. He never cared about them. It was never about the Syrians. The libs scored cheap political points by using the Syrians.

  10. So Trump had a meeting with climate change hot air balloon Fat Al Gore…bet that was an interesting conversation. Hope Trump had no questions for Fat Al, he never answers questions.

  11. Yes, went through it to see what it was about, still don’t know. Who the hell has time to concoct this stuff and for what purpose?

  12. Why isn’t our opposition demanding Monsef resign her position as Minister of Democratic reform? What on earth is such a ministry about if not about a not so hidden agenda? The media has let up on it as usual.

  13. I thought they were chanting “Lock ‘er up” in an insane asylum. That would certainly be more appropriate.
In any case, the left has no hate to spare so naturally goes ape-poop whenever someone else infringes on their territory.

  15. What is annoying about this is that it is the usual media pile on over something not that significant while (again typically) ignoring the actual purpose of the protest. “Lock her up.” is out there in the public consciousness and would have been picked up because it rhymes with “Vote her out.” In Hillary’s case there was a very good reason to chant “Lock her up” as she appears to be implicated in a range of unlawful activity (including destroying her emails, lying about Benghazi, and likely far worse!). The chant is less appropriate in Notley’s case, but good indicator of how angry people are. The media, as usual, decide to focus on the trivial, rather than looking at the damage a carbon tax will do in Alberta and across the country.

Vancouver Canucks Forward Derek Dorsett injured his neck on Nov.17 of this year.He is now scheduled for surgery….in Los Angeles, California…..U.S.A.!
WHY? Canada has the bestest health care system in the entire Universe, but a hockey player needs neck surgery and a Vancouver based team sends a good Canadian boy, from Kindersley,Sask., no less, for surgery in a foreign Country!
If, allah forbid,Michael Moore was dead,he’d be a’spinnin’ in his grave right now!
Let’s just hope he doesn’t die from complications.

  18. Our local Fire Department was PROUD of the fact that residential FIRE SPRINKLERS saved a home from total destruction. Not a particularly interesting occurrence … until … I read the very last sentence of the article …
    http://patch.com/california/lamorinda/lafayette-home-saved-fire-sprinklers
The fire was started by a CAR catching fire. There are many, many, Teslas and all manner of electric autos in my local uber-liberal enclave. I wonder why the article didn’t mention the make of the automobile that caught fire. I am BETTING it was an electric car. I will keep you posted.

  20. Who organized this protest?
They should consider that everything they do is going to be under microscopic scrutiny by the Liberal msm of this Country.
The chant of “lock her up” WAS inappropriate,Nutley, much as we despise her, hasn’t broken any laws.
I always liked the left-wing activists chant of “hey hey,ho,ho, so and so has got to go”.
Accompanied by the lobbing of grenades.

If there’s such a concern about voter fraud now that the election’s over, why do people like her take umbrage when the issue of mandatory voter ID is brought up?

  22. Just heard Gordon Downie telling the AFN that today is “the greatest day of his life” because reconciliation and like that.
Good for him. Mine was the day my son was born. Downie has four children. Pardon me for finding him insufferable and pointlessly weird.
