    Trump will have little time for the fool. Spud claims to have invited Trump to Canada pointing out that it’s tradition for an American president to make his first foreign a Canadian visit. Obama didn’t come to Canada (Harper) on his first trip out of the country and I predict neither will Trump (Israel).

    You know, if a few pipelines get built, we may have some positive economic spinoff of a Trump presidency here – hopefully spinoffs that even Shiny Pony cannot screw up.

  40. I am pretty sure Canada will be low on Trump’s list of priorities. Trudeau was quite open about his antagonism towards Trump at an earlier point. I think someone told him to shut up. AND YET, the left went on and on about some minion in the Harper government making a comment about not favouring Obama (a tepid, obscure comment). Think we will hear anything about Trudeau’s lack of diplomacy?
    I do think that a early move by Trump may be to pass the Keystone, since a number of Republicans had been pushing for that. Any bets on how Junior will respond? He takes his orders from the UN and the UN is against the pipeline. They will block it with some sorry excuse about new NEB rules or other stall tactics.
    Trump will be a thorn in Liberal sides because of his pro-business, pro-US, anti-UN and anti-global warming policies.

  47. Spud backed the person (Clinton) who opposed KXL. Why would a PM do that? Wouldn’t our PM want the pipeline completed? The original Keystone pipeline was built during obamas first term. Obama approved it. The KXL pipeline for the most part goes in the same right of way. A no brainer.
    Spud now volunteers a reboot of NAFT? Nobody asked him for it, he just steps up to the plate and says, “Yeah we’re for it.” Huh? NFTA contains no provision for the exportation of fresh water. A renegotiation will probably hinge on it.
    If Trump demands that Canada pay it’s way at Nato what is spud going to do about it? Pull out a joint and offer Trump a toke?

    To these people, issues, and how candidates address them, matter little. It’s all about image, ideology, and “it’s 2016”. I guess that if reality doesn’t correspond with their beliefs, reality is wrong.
