You could ride it without a helmet if you want, but I have zero trust in everyone else on the roads. I don’t see helmet laws changing just because of balance.

Do these engineers not understand basic physics? More likely, their marketing dept. has taken liberty with the facts they were provided.
My car has an anti-tip feature when it’s stopped too, not to mention a protective steel cage. Time to abolish those freedom-restricting seat-belts and air bags too, I guess.
I have lots of friends who ride and it ever-amazes me how otherwise intelligent people will convince themselves all sorts of bizarre crap so they can justify NOT wearing proper helmets. They deny, deny, deny that it’s all about appearing cool and enjoying the unrestricted wind in the hair, some even argue DOT helmets increase the risk. Same with the obnoxiously loud pipes, it’s not to be cool, it’s for safety in traffic.
I usually catch them in their gross hypocrisy by simply pointing out the obvious. If your decisions are truly made with safety in mind, where’s the tall red visibility flag on the back of your Harley?
It’s the sexiest bike ever!!
“It also purports to use a novel matte black “flexframe” that’s nubile enough to allow the bike to turn without the joints found on today’s motorcycles.”

I didn’t know that balancing was a big issue with bikers. Most of them seem to accomplish it around the age of 5. When driving in the US, I cringe seeing helmetless bikers at 75 mph on the interstate. Mind you they are dead meat in a crash at 75 helmet or not.
Ride as if 90% of drivers can’t see you and the other 10% are out to get you.
Balance is a huge issue when you hit gravel or oil in a turn.
A Brit survey estimated that driving a motorcycle is 35 times more deadly than driving a car.
If a motorcycle was invented today instead of over a century ago it would not be allowed on public roads. Ditto pedal bikes. Yet both are being made and sold and used on public roads while no car can be made and sold without seatbelts, airbags and ABS.
And even doing that you are at least on order of magnitude more likely to get hurt or killed driving one compared to a car. They should be banned.
They should be banned.
No shortage of nannies…
Especially because they’re nubile.
I know that such motorocyles are not yet on the market, but claiming that a motorcycle is so safe that you can ride it without a helmet will leave the company open to lawsuits.
No, Gord Tulk is right, the 90% of drivers who don’t see us and the 10% who are out to get us should be banned.
Banning motorcycles will reduce road traffic accidents by the very small number that involve motorcycles. Banning cars will eliminate all car accidents which number comprises the vast majority of road traffic accidents.
Not much wonder the way a lot of them ride, go to beat hell weaving from one lane to another…sooner drive a truck, anyway…flattens those annoying two wheeled things better 🙂
Bitchin bike!
Ducati now leaves a lot to be desired.
Some require more than helmets.

Had a beemer 750, about 30 years ago. Drove it down the coast hwy 101 with lots of delightful turns all the way to southern Cali and back.
Balancing around the corners was never a problem.
I always wore a ‘full face brain bucket’…which was very useful as I dropped the bike around a corner near home. This happened after a sand truck had leaked some of its load at an inopportune location after leaning into the corner. Road hazards and physics don’t change just cause you happen to be a nice person…
Besides swallowing insects at high speed isn’t my idea of a protein rich diet.

I was enjoying my lunch break in a streetside patio when three or four really mean and evil Hells Angels sat down at the table next to me. Just as the boys’ lunches arrived, one of the very first Can-am Spyders stopped for a red light, just next to them. Noticing his fellow riders, the Spyder guy said “Hey guys, what do you think?” One of the Angels paused long enough to swallow the bite of his sandwich and said “I think you must have a shztty sense of balance.”
Self-driving motorcycles ? …. KILL … me … now …
No matter how safe you make it, cars will still be out to get you.
Why Mercedes plans to let its self-driving cars kill pedestrians in dicey situations
Speaking at the Paris Auto Show, von Hugo told Car and Driver that all of the company’s future Level 4 and Level 5 self-driving cars would be programmed with the decision to save the people they carry over anything else.
Ahhhh..aieeeeee !! surely Mercedes will STOP or SWERVE to SAVE a cat, dog, squirrel, deer, etc. Mercedes surely knows that Human lives don’t matter … but Animal lives DO !
Helmets are only useful for those who have something valuable to protect. It’s true for most safety gear. People who don’t use ’em, don’t need ’em.
Anyone who says they can ride with no helmet has never been hit by a junebug at 70mph. Or a stone, or a bee, or a cigarette butt… or hail, because this is Canada… or a deer, because that happens too…
Full face helmet, leather jacket, boots. At least. I’ll take all the armor I can get, every time, and wish for more.
Also, looking at those tires, they appear to have the same size contact patch as everything else out there, and less tread. Rain will not be your friend.
I actually don’t think Bikes should be banned.
What should happen is for all vehicles to be held to the same occupant safety standards. Cars should not be required to have seat belts or airbags or crash protection technology.
“Time to abolish those freedom-restricting seat-belts and air bags too, I guess.”
Not abolish, just don’t make them mandatory and let natural selection solve the problem.
“I’ll take all the armor I can get, every time, and wish for more.”
Absolutely, as long as it is not mandatory.
“If a motorcycle was invented today instead of over a century ago it would not be allowed on public roads.”
Yes and that would be wrong. There is no reason to ban motorcycles they do not block traffic, unlike …
“Ditto pedal bikes. ”
Those of course do not belong on the road and should be banned. They slow down private motorized transportation and are ridden exclusively by a$$holes. The only good thing about pedal bike riders is that many of them die. Unfortunatelly motorists are then held liable instead of rewarded.
Heh, a lotta poor drivers afraid they’re going to fall off…even some of the horse people are using helmets. Poor riders, I guess…no shortage of nannies willing to tell others how to do it. Probably because they’re poor at it themselves. I guess a form of projection…
LOL, BMW snowflake designers will kill that line of business.
Sounds like some of you think economic liberalism is a bad idea. Did you scoff at the idea of the Internet too?
Still, it’s not right to force folk to wear helmets.
A big fan of collective punishment, I see.
Well done comrade! Rosa Klebb is very impressed!
You really should consider not talking. For there is nothing more pathetic than a halfwit trying to sound sarcastic and superior to his betters.
LOL.
An elitist jerk, too, I see.
Get back to us when you learn to ride a bike through traffic like your average 10 year old kid.
psssst, tell him all about super cruise and stealth
You mean he isn’t you? Must be contagious.
I’m very against helmet laws. I’m very in favor of helmets. Helmet laws don’t save people. Helmets do.
