A 19-year-old Concordia University student has been stripped of her Canadian identity by an anonymous federal bureaucrat, a decade after the woman’s mother allegedly made misrepresentations when applying for their citizenship.
Now, realize, I’m not calling for the law to be changed. I’m calling for it to be applied equally for citizens, non-citizens and Liberal MP’s.
Will this be known in the future as the Clinton rule” whereby one of the ruling class doesn’t have to follow the law, and the peons go to jail?
Perhaps it can be the ex wife of an ex Prime Minister rule in Canada, for those that have received a drunk driving conviction while some others have been let off for reasons such as depression?

The Libranos will most likely drop all charges on all the liars and let them all stay, for “fairness” purposes, so it doesn’t look like Monsef is receiving special treatment, damn the laws. Monsef should be on the next plane out, instead she’ll be allowed to stay and game the electoral system, perhaps even given an award, the golden potato award. As a Canadian, one must come to the realization that being the subject of a Queen has it’s downsides. Royal Prerogative will be exercised through Her Majesty and her Privileged Class at any time of Her Government’s pleasing. Why not just remove any and every condition for citizenship?

If they overlook this legal transgression, then our laws are not to be taken seriously. By not taking the issue seriously, they are simply encouraging others to lie to gain entry. This is just shameful. The media seems disinterested already. Very typical. If the Conservatives make any missteps, they are relentless in their criticisms and calls for heads. If Liberanos do something it is swept under the carpet. Increasingly it seems like we are living in a banana republic. This woman cannot be heading up the initiative to change our method of voting. It is a slap in the face to Canadians.

I have the same inquiring mind. I’m supposing that they don’t want to appear or be depicted as “angry”, or the MSM figures that anything that they have to say on the matter, doesn’t matter to the bulk of the LIV’s. If they don’t report it, it didn’t happen. Or some such thing.
Get serious. Being upset over interpretations of international citizenship law is petty criticism of the govt. There are plenty of examples of actions [and inaction] Ms.Monsef has committed as an adult and a politician which make her unqualified to be a Minister in the federal govt, regardless of the portfolio. Focus on that, not on inconsequential ‘birther’ bullfudge; it trivializes the argument.
Can we keep her but get rid of Monsef?
I find my natural instincts on pretty much all issues to be at complete 180 degree odds with those of politicians (of all stripes) and the media.

It’s not possible to be upset over “international citizenship law”; there’s no such thing.
Lying is the Liberal norm. How can a Liberal cabinet minister be held responsible for her lies (or lies by proxy) when everything that comes out of every Liberal’s mouth is a lie. Only Conservatives are held to a any standard at all.
Just because you can’t understand the citizenship laws between Afghanistan and Iran doesn’t make them untrue; it only proves your ignorance of international citizenship laws.
