I think it was Thomas Sowell who pointed out that one of the things money buys is protection from reality. Refugees and economic migrants, except for the particularly well-heeled, do not typically relocate to wealthy neighborhoods. Thus limousine liberals can agitate for policies of immigration and refugee resettlement safe in the knowledge that the major costs of their verbal largesse i.e. disruption of lifestyle, competition for entry-level jobs, even criminality etc. will be born by those far lower on the economic ladder than they. The liberal gets the pat on the back at the cocktail party while the working-class stiff gets to deal with the job competition and his daughter being groped or worse. Immigration is good if it’s managed properly and the numbers and types of people admitted fall within the capacity of the host jurisdiction to accommodate and integrate them. I’m sure George Clooney enjoys Lake Como. I wonder if he’d enjoy it as much if it rose thirty feet due to flooding.

I’m pretty sure the refugees have heard his wife is a human rights lawyer, and just want some advice.
This isn’t anything new. I noticed the same sort of thing while I was out of work during the early 1980s.
Most of the SJWs I knew back then were well-off members of the church I attended. They were all enthusiastic about making sacrifices for their pet causes (all of them leftist, of course), provided it was people like me who made them. After all, being out of work and scrounging for whatever cash I could find, I was “accustomed” to making do with less and fighting to stay solvent.
They, on the other hand, felt they were exempt because they never had to worry about paying for their rent or groceries. Parting with any of their money, even the smallest amount (which probably wouldn’t have hurt their balance sheets), would have been considered incurably traumatic to them and best avoided at all costs.
