    Thanks Kate! You made my day!! I’m 66 years old and I would listen to the Rollers 24-7 if they had recorded enough songs. It was a very positive and powerful beat and created what was know know as ”rollermania.” God Bless you!

  4. “Saturday Night” takes me back a lot of years, too.
    It brings back memories of going for pizza and beer with my dorm mates on Friday or Saturday night when I was an undergraduate in my junior year in 1976. There were a few places we’d go to off the U of A campus and that song was often playing on the in-house stereo system. It also got a lot of airplay on 630 CHED and was a pleasant contrast to all that disco that was on the charts at the time.

    The simple answer to the question as to whether the EU referendum is legally binding is “no”. In theory, in the event of a vote to leave the EU, David Cameron, who opposes Brexit, could decide to ignore the will of the people and put the question to MPs banking on a majority deciding to remain.
    This is because parliament is sovereign and referendums are generally not binding in the UK.

  15. A move afoot in GB. Not satisfied with the referendum result there is now suggestion that a 2nd vote take place – once people realize the consequence of the first vote.
    Sure let’s circumvent democracy. We don’t like the result so we will keep trying until we get what we want.

    I always equated BCR with the early Osmond Brothers, Bee Gees, Monkees, the Back Street Boys…….
    I will have to rethink my 12 years posting here and see if I can find a more compatible group over at Huffpo or one a’ them other liberal /Dipper bloggies where we can endlessly discuss Justin’s latest hair style and global warming,and Sophie’s dress and global warming,and Michelle’s great teeth and global warming,BUT love Led Zeppelin,Hendrix (Jimi,not Wanda)the ‘Stones, John Lee Hooker,Doc Watson, and Itzhak Perlman.
    Yep this blog has gone to hell, goddamned bay city sissies featured, not a word on the demise of Ralph Stanley.
    Ps, if you hadn’t at least acknowledged the recent demise of Merle haggard,I think I’d ‘a had ta declare jihad on Delisle, maybe all of Lesser Saskatchewan!

  23. The biggest problem in the world today is fúcking muslimes. They don’t want to integrate, they want to conquer and convert the world to their barbaric beliefs. The ‘last straw’ for many Britons was the roving bands of muslime youth committing crimes and raping white girls, and justifying it because their barbaric religion says it’s OK to abuse and disrespect non-believers. A zero tolerance policy for immigrants is required. Commit one crime any they’re deported, no excuses, no exceptions. Enough is enough.

  28. Sean Cassidy? Ouch! I cringed when he was on the charts about 40 years ago. Mind you, that was a rather tacky time for pop music. After all, it was during the peak of disco and “You Light Up My Life”.
