Another song from Jim Reeves that will hopefully inspire those who are caught up in the Fort Mac fires. From Saskatchewan, God bless you all!

Rex Murphy is a national treasure, so much common sense for 1 man, working in a broadcasting corporation devoid of any of the qualities that make up Rex. Those poor people in Ft. Mac going through this hell and having gouls like this Moffat of Lethbridge spouting his Suzukiisms, and by the way are there any of the Pembina institute Sierra Clubs Suzuki foundation types donating any money or help to this wreck, no they will be over at Naomi and Avis house celebrating. Every time we see the news out of the fires they look worse, pray for rain.

Who is talking about Bill’s wife and says among other things, ”…… the Great Leader Who Needs No Name, the Maternal Tit daubed in wormwood, the bitter toxin left by men–those spoilers of the universe who created the master structures of modern civilization that provide us put-upon gals with jobs, transportation, abundant food, clean water, housing, electricity, and a magical disease-spurning municipal sewage system that only men seem required to clean and repair.”
Surprisingly she generally speaks well of men and traditions.
Re: Rex Murphy:
I can relate to Alberta having it’s arms opened to all of Canada, and for decades on end. In late 1945, my Dad was eating supper on the farm when a lone fellow knocked at the door. He was tall, cleanly dressed, and was carrying a WWII surplus pack sack. My dad was 22 years old at the time, he was living on the farm with my Grandmother. They invited the stranger in for supper. During the meal, the hobo informed them that he was from Weyburn, Sk. and that he was headed for Leduc, Alberta to seek his fortune in the oil fields. He stayed in the hired man’s shack for the night.
As it turned out, my Dad was leaving for Edmonton the next day to visit my aunt. They got into my Dad’s 1940 Chevy pickup, and drove away. Dad dropped him off at Leduc a couple of days later. For years, he sent Christmas cards to my Dad, and to my grandmother who died in 1958. It was amazing how he arrived at Leduc with pack sack and about $50.00, got a job on a rig, later on found a girlfriend, got married, had a family and ended up working on a seismograph crew as a technician. He retired in Calgary and died in 1994.
The moral of the story is that there were millions of people who left their homes in other provinces and found fortunes and happiness in Alberta. Now, it’s our turn to return the favour.
I know I far too old to get with this transgender thing, but this is the first thought I had reading this.
Bruce Jenner still has all his male parts I have read so the flag will cover them in order not to disillusion young people who somehow admire people who embrace their other and true selves.
Now, if he has all those bits he obviously finds unattractive since he no longer identifies with them, why is he a “she”? Why is Bruce a Catilyn?
Why does he need to go to the women’s (used to be ladies) washroom just to sit to relieve himself? What is liberating about all this?
Just inquiring, as I’m sure no one has an answer, not even Bruce.
Gellen. I think the answer is that it’s getting very tough to sell gays as discriminated against and otherwise I’ll treated when they are able to enjoy parades celebrating their sexuality, are lionized regularly and who are above criticism on any front.
So the left needs a new “gay” and transgendered – and let’s not be too picky with the rules on getting into that club- fits the bill perfectly.
You need to create outrage among your political opponents to be able to effectively club them. And transgender is the new club.
Don’t think for a minute the left or TRANS give a crap about it. It about political power.

RCMP in Alberta have brought in special tactical teams to root out people who refuse to leave fire-ravaged Fort McMurray.
“Right now we have special tactical operations inside the city looking to make sure that there is nobody left behind.”
The tactical teams will be checking homes and yards for people, he said.

I’ve never understood making people leave.
Will the RCMP be searching houses for any guns that may have been left behind by those fleeing the fires?
Fair comment. Straight up query.
Will the people fleeing the fires be penalized for not filling out the census? I’ll bet left hand of government doesn’t realize what right hand is doing.
After this, even SI’s annual swimsuit edition might be suspect.

The reality is that the homosexual demographic in any society remains stubbornly small (anywhere from three to six percent tops depending on which study you believe). Not surprisingly, it’s not a “growth” demographic either. The only way to expand this demographic is to loosen its definition – and what better way than by extending it from gay to LGBTQ+?
Interestingly though, a lot of gays and lesbians are not that thrilled about all this; a great many of them want to quietly get on with their lives like everyone else and are not too enthused by being lumped into some convenient demographic label with lunatic fringe groups such as the vociferous “transgendered” lobby.
“I’ve never understood making people leave.”
Holy cow, Sean.
Evacuation is key in large unpredictable disasters such as this because people are physically IN DANGER. Those who stay behind often put first responders in GREATER PERIL when they eventually do have to be rescued. People who do not leave can be a heavy burden on resources when they are already stressed to the max. And of course, in an empty town, you have the extra benefit of scumbag looters then sticking out like sore thumbs.
Even if there is 100% compliance to an evacuation, door to door searches are still required for the elderly, injured, ill, trapped, etc. Oh, and of course, those evil firearms.

“The truth must be told! All European life died in Auschwitz
By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez*
I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz.
We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, and talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.”

Good story.
When there was a contest to pick a new logo for the Saskatchewan licence plates 1 wag suggested ‘Alberta’s Farm Team’.
a great many of them want to quietly get on with their lives like everyone else “ This has always been the case. The gay activist agenda is used as a wedge with which to attack traditional Judeo-Christian values. It is being paid for. No one favours discrimination against gays, so it has been good to address that, but the push for gay marriage (vs. civil unions) and all those attendant `rights`issues (now unisex bathrooms) is an example of how gays and now trans are being used to undermine social cohesiveness and traditional values. The Black in the US are being used in the same way — the civil rights movement was a critical step forward, but now that minority is being used to undermine civil order. I am not optimistic about the future.
His post said “those who refuse to leave”. If I choose, key word “choose”, to not leave a burning city, why should I be made to? Obviously these people recognize the danger but don’t care.
Personally, I’d likely leave but to put people who freely choose to remain in an evacuation vessel at gunpoint seems wrong to me.
Before you castigate someone, read the post and see context. Words have meaning.
Re: ”I’ve never understood making people leave.”
If you’ve ever worked in a disaster, you’d understand that most of those that want to stay behind usually want to pilfer vacant properties. Not a complicated situation, but a risky one to leave a few behind. My family was in the Winnipeg flood of the early 1950s, and even then, people were going around at night with rowboats stealing property.
“Before you castigate someone, read the post and see context. Words have meaning.”
That is too funny. Do you always offer advice to others that you really need to take yourself? When you have been ORDERED to leave, “choose to stay” and “refuse to leave” are the EXACT THE SAME THING.
I clearly ALREADY stated this…
“Those who stay behind often put first responders in GREATER PERIL when they eventually do have to be rescued. People who do not leave can be a heavy burden on resources when they are already stressed to the max.”
It’s not my fault if you simply cannot comprehend the importance of 100% compliance to evacuation orders to those in harm’s way. Maybe you should talk to some firemen or paramedics if you won’t listen to me. When it comes to personal freedoms, go to any city and try loitering in the middle of a multi-car accident scene and see how fast your “choosing” to stay lands your ass in jail.
BTW, in the future, please don’t post the fact you don’t understand something if you don’t want to be bothered with explanations.
Entitled to their entitlements…

OTTAWA — Justin Trudeau took a small army of 44 people with him for a three-day visit to Washington last March, at a cost of more than $25,000.

This time, someone figured it out. It is on the census webpage that collection for affected communities is suspended.
I note that there are no comments allowed on Rex’ piece. They probably don’t want a chorus of “Mother Gaia wants them to burn! Burn them all!”
I agree with Rex. And our society is a much better place when we help each other with the big things, but only when it’s done voluntarily. Don’t stick a gun in a strangers face in Montreal and tell him “give me what you’ve got, I need it for Fort MacMurray relief”.
And I do not care if overpaid goons are in little more danger. People have a right not to leave and safety of the government goons is never a priority.
“It’s not my fault if you simply cannot comprehend the importance of 100% compliance to evacuation orders to those in harm’s way. ”
No you do not understand that none has a right to issue this order in the first place. They are forcing people to leave their houses. To let the houses burn if it suits them. To have undocumented access to them to loot them (like they did in High River) and then take their sweet time getting things back on track with as many union mandated breaks as possible, while armed to the teeth goons are manning the road blocks and rolling out spikes on the roads. This is a cynical demonstration of government control in a disaster caused by government incompetence.
Interestingly enough, this disaster gives people an opportunity to “unregister” their restricted firearms and claim they were lost/looted. Of course I do not suggest anyone doing it, merely I state that when JBTs are done looting other government employees may take their turns. Breaking every door in order to confiscate g… errr look for survivors makes it possible that lot will be stolen afterwards….

I am going to praise Rex Murphy in terms that only he could understand.
He not only exceeds the expectations of those whose expectations have been blunted by years of disuse, he expects to exceed them in an excessive way that can only, truth be told, be deciphered by intellects of at least half, nay one third, of his own. His prose soars so high above the commonplace that it disappears into the stratosphere that overarches the blogosphere for which he and his fellow staffers can only have a curious mixture of disdain, affection, and unease. And there is more, and it starts with an anecdote about some place in Newfoundland that you or I will never visit.
Mine was “Breeding ground for Alberta.” 2 of my 3 kids moved there.
