Caught with their thumb on the scale again. 100 year old data, 10 year old data, doesn’t matter; it all needs to be adjusted over and over. So NASA – GISS says it does not ‘fudge’ numbers
Over the eight years since 2008, the anomaly for Jan 1910 was re-estimated in many steps to be 0.7C cooler than it was thought to be back in 2008. Meanwhile the anomaly for Jan 2000 was adjusted to be 0.09C warmer between 2008 and 2016. Presumably the original raw temperatures were already adjusted prior to 2008. Who knows?
And you thought that temperature data was just a number on a page and once a calendar year was over it was finished. How naive. Turns out it’s a fluid entity traveling through the fourth dimension. Luckily NASA GISS are able to capture the way temperatures of the past are still changing today.
Thanks for the song Kate. I love the part that says, ”The transmission was a ’53 and the motor turned out to be a ’73 and when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were gone. So we drilled it out so that it would fit and with a little bit of help from an Adapt-O-Kit, we had that engine running just like a song.”
There may have been a good reason why the holes didn’t match. On Aug. 12, 1953, GM’s Hydramatic transmission factory, known as the Livonia Plant, burned to the ground. Livonia is a suburb of Detroit. The fire remains one of the largest and most destructive industrial fires in American history. http://www.autotran.us/TheGreatHydraMaticFire.html
Immediately, Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Pontiac along with other auto manufacturers that were utilizing the Hydramatic were forced to seek new automatics. Cadillac and Oldsmobile switched over to the Dynaflo that had been used by Buick, while Pontiac switched to the Chevy Powerglide. For the next model year 1954, a new facility had been leased, Cadillacs went back to Hydramatic, and transmission production was back to normal. So Johnny Cash just may have hit the wrong transmission. Who knows? As for the adapt-0-kits, (brand names vary) they are still used by hot rodders to this day.
Trudeau’s CBC propaganda machine is still alive and well. No doubt some of you have seen the 4/20 Pot Rally in Vancouver today. This is the story. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/philpott-un-marijuana-legislation-legalize-1.3544554
In 2003, the National Film Board released a documentary know as ”Through a Blue Lens.”
I later visited the East Hastings district where the film was shot. One of the worst ghettos in Canada, drug addicts were strewn all over the streets. The film features the interaction between Vancouver City Police and destitute addicts.
When I reiterated my E. Hastings experience on CBC.Ca in the comments section of the story concerning today’s pot rally in Vancouver, it was immediately deleted. God help us that the scum at CBC would ever show the dark side of Trudeau’s destructive legislation. As for the NFB film ”Through the Blue Lens,” it can be seen here. https://youtu.be/WTH1rbTeqyg
Coyne has no credibility in my opinion. Before the election he did everything he could to enhance the Liberals and their leadership while doing all he could in demonizing the CPC and their leadership. He did his utmost to get this group of clowns elected, he should now delete his word processor, take his medicine, shut the hell up, and watch those of us who saw all this crap coming do the Liberal ass kicking..
First Johnny Cash song I ever liked… well, when I was younger.
Hey, the CO2 is increasing, so naturally are temperatures. Every year as CO2 increases, 2000 gets a little warmer and 1910 a little cooler. It’s science dontcha-know.
Biggest fraud ever.
Exactly right. Coyne got what he shilled for now he’s trying to gain himself some credibility. Sorry, too late.

The crown Corp is a disgusting mess and the lower Churchill project is possibly the biggest white elephant mega project in Canadian history – so bad that a former premier urged the government to simply abandon its completion as it will never ever make the losses back.
Why does it matter to the ROC?

Harper attempted to make sure that CPP would be solvent over the longer term. The current Liberal government has changed the strategy (pushing back eligibility at 67 to 65 again) such that there will be a significantly larger burden on CPP happening earlier. Harper did not implement such policies to be “mean” — as the stupid voter contingency would have you believe — but because it was financially prudent. People should be very concerned about the long term solvency of CPP. With the Trudeau move, we can expect to see reduced benefits and increased debt. The Liberal government is proving itself to be fiscally irresponsible. Why no outcry from the media. Our economy is being managed very badly and we will all pay a price for this. Hey — not to worry — our boy is working out at the gym, and I am sure he will get a handle on policy issues any day now.
I think the change back to 65 from 67 is for OAS, not CPP. You could still get CPP at 60 under the Conservative government, albeit with reduced benefits. What the Conservatives DID do is to force anyone still working from 60 – 65 to pay CPP premiums on their wages even if they were also collecting. They also gave the 65 – 70 group the option to continue paying premiums if still working even as collecting CPP.
I agree that Coyne has no credibility. He is shallowly clever, rather than intelligent. He does a lot of political posturing — taking a side that at lest superficially appears to not be in agreement with the apparent consensus, but underneath that he is as conformist as the rest. This time, though, at least he is leading the opinionators in noting that something is amiss with our new government. I don’t think he got the worst of it (the phony posturing of the pretend PM), but at least it is something that might start a few people thinking.
AGW RIP.
