Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

It looks like it’s a tight race between the PCs and Wild Rose in the Calgary provincial by-election:

The gal on CJME/CKOM was droning on… and on… about how the Muslims in Belgium have never integrated… and wondered whatever we could/should do about it…
Update: the PC candidate won.
Yes,the world COULD use a woman like Margaret Thatcher again.Unfortunately we are stuck with types like Merkel and Hillary Clinton.
And the men are even worse.

Deportation springs to mind.
Hard to imagine ozero or the empty hair being so succinct and intelligent in their replies.
The Arizona coverage CNN & Fox both have a false graphic calculating the percentage of votes for the Republicans.. It has been stuck on 46% for Trump for ~ 2 hours but nobody seems to understand math.
Trump was always >60% and is now at 67% of the tallied votes & increasing
Trump better get someone to watch for this type of false $ullshit

The world could use a leader like Margaret Thatcher, woman or man matters not.
Since I ranted here on SDA on Captain Capitalism’s thread ‘Those Who Can’t Do, Teach’ last Sunday, I feel the need to apologize to Aaron Clary for perhaps going over the top in being offensively critical, language wise, of his Marching Band vs Football team analogy.
Sorry Cap’n.
here is a song by Casting Crowns that moved me to write the above, I think the song was inspired by Ronald Reagan’s City on the Hill speech:

Red Rachel must have been worried as she arranged to have her cabinet meeting in Calgary yesterday rather than in Edmonton as originally planned.
Yes…Margaret Thatcher, or Golda Meir, or Indira Ghandi, or a man like Winston Churchill.
But what it could really use is a populace who knows as much about Western history and geography as Americans, Canadians and Britons did in the middle of the 20th century, and has the guts that they had to fight the hard fight against an implacable evil that wished only to destroy them.
They were the Greatest Generation.
And we could well be the Final Generation.
Typical Canadian election: each party trying to out ethnic each other. Four Indians in parties, 2 indies.
Donald Trump is the only one who feels comfortable saying what needs to be said and then done…close our borders until we figure out what’s going on. We are not admitting the obvious, we are not doing what needs to be done because it might interfere with our freedoms, we might hurt the sensibilities of those who hate us and our way of life. Time to wake up, this is a war we can’t win by being tolerant, we need to weave our way through the snakes killing and terrorizing whenever and wherever they please. We need to wear our suspicious hat at all times, trust nobody from the elements of society these horrible creatures fight in the name of.
If we lived long enough it had to happen sooner or later. Pity we missed the incident and opportunity for a road side party.

Liberal Justine government’s budget meanafesto for equal misery: socialism in theory and its praxis.
…-
“The Liberal budget won’t help the middle class, it will just spend us all into equal misery”
“The only thing this tax-and-spend plan will accomplish is to pull down the wealthy until they’re reduced to schlepping their groceries at Wal-Mart like the rest of us” (FP)

“Socialism’s Bloody History Shows Millennials Should Think Twice Before Supporting It
Socialism demands that we place blind trust in whoever takes the power to distribute society’s goods and services. History shows those who have this power abuse it in horrific ways.”
“My sweet Anushka! My Darling!
I write to you on the eve of the trial, and I write to you with a definite purpose, which I emphasize three times over: No matter what you read, no matter what you hear, no matter how horrible these things might be, no matter what might be said to me nor what I might say – endure everything courageously and calmly. Prepare the family. Help all of them. I fear for you and the others, but most of all for you. Don’t feel malice about anything. Remember that the great cause of the USSR lives on and this is the most important thing.”

It’s so dumbfounding to watch as the civilized nations of the world, even the most powerful, are unable or unwilling to stop the evil thugs called Islamic terrorists, we sit and wait for their next strike at innocent people around the globe. All we are doing is looking for the murderers after the facts. We know the root of this unspeakable evil, we know who is funding them, if we don’t we are not looking. We had better intelligence service during the second World war, if we hadn’t we would be wearing jackboots.
The only explanation for this stupendous phenomenon is we are treating this as a religious thing and don’t want to offend Islam. If this isn’t it what is it?
We have the ultimate power to go for the head(s) of the snake, what are we waiting for,Iran to become a nuclear power?
I am still confused by the Arizona and Utah results. In Arizona, Trump is being listed at 47% but the vote counts actually show him at above 60% and if you add up the % for all candidates it only adds up to 80%. It is a winner takes all state so he still gets all 58.
In Utah it is 69% Cruz, 17% Kasich and 14% Trump but all 40 delegates are listed for Cruz. It is supposed to be proportional so shouldn’t it be 28 Cruz, 7 Kasich and 5 Trump? What am I missing?
He might have been the “PC candidate” but he was a Liberal.

Yesterday I went to pick up a few groceries. As I approached the Super Store entrance, I noticed a driver looking for a parking space. I caught the driver’s attention and pointed out a handicap parking space that was open and available. The driver looked puzzled, rolled down her window and said, “I’m not handicapped!”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” I said. “I saw your NDP bumper sticker and just assumed that you were.” She gave me the finger and screamed some nasty obscenities at me.
Some people just don’t appreciate it when you’re only trying to help them out!
Re: Utah.
It’s a Republican Caucus. The rules are that if a single candidate gets 50% or greater then all of the delegates go to that person. If no one 50% or greater, then delegates are proportionately distributed. There may also be a minimum percent where the candidate get no delegates. Local rules are local rules.
I agree ballots cast and percentage of vote not in balance. In head to head polls 10% is still on the table. Are there that many polling refusals, failed candidates’ votes and spoiled ballots? The real question is what happens as we go forward.
It’s important to note state rules vary in primaries and also apply to delegates at an open convention as to when they become unbounded candidates aka free agents. Generally, defeated candidates’ delegates are now unbounded, and a significant number become free agents after the first ballot, but essentially Trump and Cruz would retain their first ballot voters, so Kasich’s voters would likely be the only ones up for grabs on a 2nd ballot.
Because Cruz got over 50% of the Utah vote, he gets all the delegates; under 50%, then proportional distribution by vote.
Arizona is winner take all; Trump took 57% (47% of 82%) of ballots cast for remaining candidates; that’s why he is unstoppable, unless voters change their minds. He also leads in California, a big winner take all state. Cruz missed his big chance in Arizona to challenge Trump, who continues to win big.
It’s likely he wins before convention. I did a quick run up of remaining primaries and easily got him to way over 1237, conservatively, especially if Kasich hangs around. With 54% of remaining candidates’ total delegates, Trump needs 52% of available delegates to win outright. Even if somehow it goes to convention, all defeated candidate delegates are free agents on the first ballot notwithstanding moral suasion from the withdrawn. They all would have to go to Cruz or Kasich for it to go to a 2nd ballot. They won’t; Trump has been getting his share, and is backed by former candidates Christie and Carson.
The solution isn’t the pixie dust on Carl Rove’s magic whiteboard. Nor is it Paul Ryan’s assuming voters want & need ineffective politicians; nor is it Harry Reid’s incendiary hope he can convince enough voters Trump is a “racist demagogue.” The voter is tired of being told what to think by PC statists, on both sides; that must be fused with libertarians, evangelicals & conservatives and the new “Trump Democrats.”
The GOP needs to get on with and secure presidential victory. Hillary should be easy to defeat, as Obama should have been.

WASHINGTON — Cities across the USA are preparing for the next phase that inevitably follows a terror attack: anti-Muslim backlash.

Tonight Global hosted a televised leader’s debate moderated(??) by Costa Marigos in advance of the upcoming Sask election.
The brutish behavior by Cam Brotin (the socialist) with his constant disruptive over-talking was out of control- no thanks to the meek geek in charge.
Methinks the Dippers will be conducting another job search come April 5th.
I do percentage in my mind, but I guess most of todays folks don’t see the errors. The Republican taking points that Trump can’t get >50 seems to be rigged. If a database fails to calculate the percentage of votes tallied.. it is flawed.
If the database can be manipulated, as it was in Arizona, it can be corrupted in other (ALL) ways.
All that matters is who counts the votes…

Soros Board Member Chairs Firm Running Online Voting for Tuesday’s Utah Caucuses
Smartmatic Group, an electronic voting firm whose worldwide headquarters is located in the United Kingdom, will be running the online balloting process in the Utah Republican Open Caucuses on Tuesday.
The chairman of Smartmatic’s board, Lord Mark Malloch-Brown, currently serves on the board of George Soros’s Open Society Foundation and has close ties to the billionaire.
The Wall Street Journal dubbed the Republican party’s online adventure on Tuesday as “one of the biggest online votes conducted so far in the U.S.” and the “largest experiment with online presidential voting since 2004, when Michigan allowed Democrats to vote in a party caucus via the Internet.”
I was listening to the debate on the radio and gave up after about twenty minutes as the debate war largely unintelligible.
