I must admit I do not pay much attention to the Oscars, but after reading the short article in the “Rebel” I must agree that the reason for no black films being nominated was indeed racist as well as political, as the Academy is leftwing and does not like blacks who are successful or portray successful black people and not commie supporters like the Academy members.
    The same mindset went after Herman Cain, Allen West and other right-wing black politicians.

  2. People still care about the awards handed out to a tiny set of people, judged by an even tinier set of people, for films that we ‘watch’ on tinier and tinier screens? Let me shed a tiny tear…

  3. Get real folks, Hollywood is a huge part of our culture. We use analogy, metaphor, simile all relating back to movies we have all seen and characters that we all know. No one does it better than Dennis Miller.
    Our immigrants should be forced to watch about a thousand Hollywood productions over the years so they can understand how we got so stupid and what it is that we want them to assimilate into. There are no words for this, so when they arrive give them all a Netflix pass and see what happens. Dumber things are tried everyday.
    I still catch the occasional Oscarama to try to imagine the machinations that go on behind the scenes … these the biggest of big in the ego department …. lots at stake for the twits and twats.
    It’s all just entertainment … and I don’t give a pube about how many black actors are snubbed. Most of them have blurted out their racism toward white folks over and over … You know who they are … they are most of them … maybe this isn’t just old tunnel visioned white men, maybe it’s a bit of payback.

  4. So Bryan Cranston is nominated for the perennial favourite inside soap , the Hollywood Ten. Trumbo was protected under the US Constitution to join the Communist Party and play act the Stalinist line from the safety of Beverley Hills. Likewise, the Movie moguls/producers were protected in their choice not to hire him for their projects, at least not under his real name. Seems a fair enough trade off, yet the movie industry retells the story every 5 years or so, never adding anything new.

  5. The Oscars, shrug. Face it, when it comes to meaning and credibility, they have been in the same boat as the Order of Canada and Nobel Peace Prizes for quite a while.
    But if Lee and his under-represented black buds are dyin’ to take home some of those lumpy dildos, all they have to do is to have the foresight to put together a tear-jerkin’ movie about the class and race struggles a black SJW faces/exposes while bringing a white cop to justice for shooting a black youth. Alternatively, maybe the struggles of a Somali teenager to find love and acceptance in the Ozarks would do.
    Hell, probably even get Obammy, Al, and Jesse to do cameos.

    Some group of Beyond rich progressives giving out awards to other Beyond rich progressives for what..?? …their ability to fool people into believing they are clearly something not..??? Like intelligent fellow human beings…LMAO.
    Really…? And this is supposed to be “news” peddled by more progressive entities…?
    Cry me a river…I could give a Rats (_i_) about any backslapping “awards” garbage pushed on us via regular paid subscription “TV”….long since cut that cable.

  7. Bad politics not to nominate a token one or two. Did anyone ever consider that the 90 % or slightly less that aren’t black couldn’t really give a shit. Is that racism or good taste? Will Smith is boycotting but he’s had some films his momma wouldn’t even watch.

  9. The article in The Rebel is really interesting – although prefaced by a hashtag means few SDA readers will click on it.
    I never watch the Oscars, nor am I likely to have watched many Oscar-winning movies since I prefer action flicks. Has anyone looked into previous Oscar winning performances to see if the theory proposed by The Rebel Media holds true? How many times have black actors or black directed movies received an Oscar that WASN’T about black people being victimized ?

  10. My wife gets her news from CBC. She’s been talking about how racist the Academy is this year and I’ve been arguing with her, saying they just didn’t quite make the best this time.
    Looks like I was wrong. It is racism after all, but politically correct racism.

    I can’t wait to see “Trayvon,the movie” or any one of a dozen about black victims of white man’s fascism.
    They could tell these stories every year and clean up at the Oscars until white Hollywood folks start bleating about the new racism.
    The only reason to ever watch the Oscars is to check out the cleavage on display,but if Bruce Jenner shows up in a low cut gown,I shall never watch the Oscars again.

  12. I agree exactly. We know how Hollywood treats black conservatives so why would the way they treat non-victim thinking blacks any different except to pass them over for rewards.

    Oscar nominations are made by Liberals and Liberals are Racist.
    I know, you know it, and deep down in their hearts liberals know it; they are racist and desperately cover it up with their patronizing of blacks and other minorities.

  18. This article is especially accurate about the Academy Voting. Every year. Without Fail. Accurate about the age, and predictable politics of the hardcore leftist Academy voters. I used to sit with my children and watch the Oscars every year. Why ? Because we admire the Actors and Films ? Not especially. We do it for sport. Our sport is to predict the winners … even though we haven’t seen the films or read about who/what was nominated. All we need is to see the film clip, or hear the description of the film being nominated to accurately (95%) predict the winner. Here is the predictable order of Academy Award winners, be it for Best Film, Actor, Actress, or Soundtrack:
    1. Homosexual celebration and/or Homophobia
    2. Racism – horrors perpetrated by white folk
    3. Women overcoming patriarchal or Corporate abuse
    4. Evil Christians
    5. Evil Corporations – various themes
    6. Evils of Colonialism
    7.Global Warming, corporate destruction of the environment
    8. Horror/Futility of War
    9. Corruption of Right wing politicians
    10. Celebration of Socialism
    11. Crime and Punishment FAILures – corrupt police, prison, justice/injustice
    We use this list like a hierarchy of poker hands. Homosexuality themes are the Royal Flush of Academy voting. It currently trumps All … Even the most horrible make-believe film about Racism

    Ain’t that the truth. It’s spilling over into the advertising too. Just saw an IKEA advert, with a de rigour ‘couple’ of guys in bed, one caressing the other’s stubbly cheek. I’ve seen a couple of others lately too, though I can’t remember the product.
    Then there’s the Tylenol commercial showing the 30 something guy seemingly getting ready, preparing a meal for ‘his girl’. The door opens and a little girl runs in, saying “bye mommy” to the adult woman – cuz it’s important that as a big company who wants to sell lots of product, we publically acknowledge all those failed relationships out there, too.

  23. I stopped watching the Oscars ceremony in the late 1970s. By then, they had become bloated, fatuous–and boring–spectacles, not to mention occasionally indulging in idiotic politics.
    I watch a lot of movies on cable channels like Turner Classic Movies and Encore Avenue. Often, I see one that one that got a Best Picture Oscar. Sometimes, I switch it off because it’s so dreadful. If I finish it, I wonder how on earth it won or, for that matter, what the losing movies were like.

    name the last time, any time, there was a big budget film celebrating some inspiring triumph over adversity, which happened to have blacks in the lead roles, BUT the theme was about courage, tenacity, teamwork, hard WORK, and NOT about race.
    I can’t.
    and that other thing hollywood does, you know, such-and-such ‘inspired by true events’ and the similarity and accuracy immediately ENDS there. they are in the job of creating entertaining fiction. F-I-C-T-I-O-N. and are very good at it. makes lots of money with the star wars,harry potter etc franchises. but its always all FICTION.

  26. Don’t they already have two awed shows solely dedicated to black entertainers, etc.? I’m thinking of the BET and NAACP Awards. It’s not like there’s a white equivalent, like the Cracker Prize or some such
