  1. The people that fly around the world and charge to speak about global warming are the ones who have the largest carbon footprints. What a laugh.

  2. That Energy In;Energy out ratio for wind and solar is very telling.
Wind, selfdestruct in half the claimed life time, huge manufacturing, transport, erection/foundation energy inputs.
Then to prevent the bearings self destructing “too soon” they require rotation power when becalmed, gearbox heaters in the cold and deicing.
And screw the bats and birds.

Solar .degraded to useless by 25 years, still high energy to manufacture and erect, manpower to keep clean..
Acres of land for useful power.
Never mind the mining to acquire the necessary rare earth metals, steel, aluminium, copper and concrete.
or the batteries and inverters if you hope to have power when you need it.
Yet if you point out to people that a diesel generator will serve their needs better, they insist you are a fool.
A mass produced 7 to 15 KWatt generator will run the average home with power to spare.
The energy to produce the raw materials, manufacture the machine are recovered in electricity equivalents(x cents/kW/h*days) in half the estimated lifetime, so one can project a break even point.
And the waste product enhances plant growth.Used oil can heat your home.Ditto waste heat.
To top off the uselessness of “clean energy” they do not survive without subsidies, which drive the cost of govt monopoly utility kW/h higher than generating your own.
With the oil slump, green energy is financially insane.

  3. And what happens to all of that de-icing fluid once it hits the ground and then the earth thaws in the spring? Right into the water table.
Any chance that an environmental assessment was required before construction of the wind turbine to determine the impacts of de-icing fluid on the water table? None.

  4. A David Suzuki conundrum if I ever saw one.
BTW, this isn’t the first time a turbine hasn’t worked. It may however, be the first time the hypocrisy of them has been photographed.

  5. And what kind of fuel is used to power that helicopter? All to help fix a wind turbune, LOL
    The hypocritical irony writes itself.

  6. No eagles or condors were harmed in the filming of this commercial for stupidity, only the hubris of the Gore Turdo Obongo Suzukis etal, and the pocketbooks of the taxpayers. Don’t try this at home, closed course ha ha ha.

  7. Screw wind turbines and the idiots who support these bird and bat choppers these stupid eco-freaks who support windfarms are idiots all the way to the top

  8. With helicopter time running at about $1500/hr, that operation is going to be very expensive if you have more than one windmill to de-ice.
That h/c looks like an A-Star, even more expensive than the standard Bell Jet Ranger.

  9. The universe is not infinite – and Einstein knew this. To be fair to him, the quote in the photo is incomplete. The full quote is “Only two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.”
Oh that Dalton McGuinty had to boil the water!

  10. The only thing renewable about renewable energy … are the TAX subsidies needed to PAY for them. Oh … and of course, the ever-renewing-increasing rates

  11. Given that wind turbines are also in Australia, I would add Spurwing Plovers to that list of
    birds in peril.

  12. AS 350 B3 – $1,760/hr plus fuel. 2.5 hour minimum.
Excellent point Ottawa MJ. Where does all the de-icing fluid go when it hits the ground?

  13. And guess how many wind turbines are located less than an hour’s flight from a helicopter base.

  14. How many? As many as the left wants, so long as the policy it endorses is supported. It’s for the good of the revolution, right?

  15. Best way to keep those blades turning is to hook them up to a diesel engine. Which makes as much sense as what they are doing now.

  16. Everybody’s overlooking the obvious! Just look at the effectiveness of ONLY ONE birdkiller in halting globull warming in its milieu ! If unchecked, a whole farm could cause another Ice Age!!

  17. “Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.”
    ~Albert Einstein
Yeah, not so bright after all.
The guy was a physicist, not a philosopher. Politics and philosophy were OUTSIDE his FIELD and his opinion wasn’t worth anymore than your’s or mine.
Here is the whole Einstein Quote:
“Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.
    ~Albert Einstein
His only true reference point for the LATTER, was Albert Einstein.
Einstein was a Bird Dog. He screwed anything that squatted to pee.
He abandoned his wife and children because, like a Kennedy, he couldn’t keep it in his pants.
Human stupidity in action, that was Albert Einstein.
Somehow his name became an inaccurate cliche'(excuse my French) for human intellect.

  18. “The guy was a physicist, not a philosopher”
The two fields are very closely tied together. Physics used to be called “natural philosophy”. Isaac Newton’s book was entitled Philosophiea Naturalis Principia Mathematica (mathematical principles of natural philosophy).
However, you’re right to take Einstein’s quotations with a grain of salt. The only guy who was right all the time has been gone for two thousand years.

  19. Al Gore and his own airport of leers and gulf streams John Travolta and his own 707 Prince Charles and his fleet of jets and Luarie David and his eco-freak hypocracy as well as Robert Redford selling land to devrlopers while supporting the various eco-freak groups(Sierra Club,Greenpeace Etc) not impressed by these spoiled show biz little snots

  20. Just a few minutes ago, I was looking for one of those 4 foot Revell
Apollo model rockets as a gift for a friend. I clicked on a link for
an International Space Station model. I was shocked by the area of
solar panels necessary to provide it with power. I was then reminded
that Dr. Dixie Lee Ray stated that to provide enough power to satisfy
the needs of New York City (Or any city for that matter,) it would
require an array of PV panels larger than the city itself.
This is the reason solar power is impractical. Solar energy is too
diffuse, it follows the rule of inverse squares. It also does not
shine 24 hours a day. Ditto wind power. This will NEVER be a
practical alternative source of power. There is a MASSIVE wind
farm in California. On any given day, 1/4 of the turbines are not
turning. They are broken down, and are so expensive to repair,
they remain idle. Alternative energy is just that, an alternative
    to energy!
