  1. “Some tweets that pre-dated my current role were offensive and do not reflect my views,” but he said them because, well, he doesn’t believe them himself?
    Ya, right.

  2. So the Dips field another misanthropic God hater – this is not news to anyone who has ever herd them speak to the converted. Maybe they hate the Pope so much because they can’t stand the competition – All Dips have wood to be political pontiffs – and they will abuse our trust worse than pedophile priests = both are established patterns now.

  3. So is this the equivalent of peeing in a cup? Let’s see how long it takes the bearded wonder to find a new candidate.

  4. People have long suspected the NDP have extremist views on Canada. If this is what the
Communications Director thinks, what are the rank and file communicating.
Will the NDP have the morals to ex-communicate him from their party?

  5. I’m sure the pope will be delighted with his extemporaneous commentary…
Obviously, the politician was angling for an audience with Pope Francis 🙂
Perhaps he’s trying to get the party renamed: “Newly Demonic Party”
Who needs acerbic wit, when the parodies write themselves?
    Luke 6:22
“Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man!
    Cheers

  6. What would the Reverend J.S. Woodsworth and the Reverend Tommy Douglas think of the currently anti-Christian NDP?

  7. to molest a child is a criminal offence
to not report said offence to the proper authorities when one is aware of the offence is also a criminal offence
Katholic church, largest criminal organization in the world, as they have been covering up the offences since kriste was a cowboy. Me wonders why this has to even be pointed out to “adults”.
Butt I do hang my head in shame, have to agree with a dipper

  8. Hi Ken, as a Kulak, let me say I read your view. While, on the occasion, I may disagree, you have my respect for your words. Kulak: “Emerging after the emancipation of serfs in the 19th century, the kulaks resisted Stalin’s forced collectivization, but millions were arrested, exiled, or killed.”
After emancipation, like the Scots’, your culture achieved.
    In admiration……. Jeff

  9. The unfortunate thing was the only meaning the term Kulak had was applied to those who were not cheerleaders for Stalinism. The poorest of peasants had serious objections to being labeled Kulaks and thus executed as economic criminals.

  10. It doesn’t matter, for Left-wing politicians only, what they say today.
They can simply retract that statement tomorrow, and it disappears, never to be remembered.
We’re living in the “idiocracy” right NOW.

  11. OF COURSE his tweets were his real thoughts! And as someone raised Roman Catholic, I was also disturbed and angered by the child abuse in the church and the subsequent cover-up and obfuscation.
But let’s look at the bigger picture. Shawn Dearn is a devout Leftist. Leftism has proven itself, time and again, to be a de facto religion in & of itself. True Leftists don’t have any space in their minds or lives to belong to any other religion than Leftism. They might have been raised as Jews or in the United Church or even the Catholic Church but once they adopted Leftism that became their religion, their mantra, their very purpose for living.
It would be fascinating to ask Dearn to publicly criticize the numerous union members who are teachers who have committed child abuse over the past few decades. My guess is that he would never DARE speak out against his fellow comrades. Which makes him both a hypocrite and a coward.

shawn dearn, mulcair’s director of communications tweeted…
“”Stop calling the misogynist, homophobic, child-molesting Catholic church a ‘moral authority.’ It’s not.”
Dearn is married to a man.

curiously, mr & mr dearn chose not to comment on the current situation in the middle east, where men ‘convicted‘ of being homosexual by islamic courts are being hogtied and thrown off the roofs of high buildings.
wassup with the religion of peace getting a pass?
once again, the ndp is cherrypicking its outrage.

  13. Dammit, you sent me to CBC! Gross! I see the article ends with a nice summary of Conservative wrong-doings. Of course.

  14. Dearn will rail against the church but not the mosque for the usual milque-toast progressive reasons: fear and pandering. He’s afraid of Muslim reprisal (Islamophobia) but seeks their vote!

  15. Somewhat exactly. The term Kulak was first applied after the Bolo consolidation of power in 1818 to the wealthiest farmers in the villages under Bolo conytrol, specifically to those who had been denounced by the “committee (s) of the poor” created by Lenin. After the civil war was over, the term was applied everywhere and slowly ratcheted up to include any farmer who had ever hired any labour, or had more than a certain number of cows, horses and other livestock. Later, under Stalin, the numbers of livestock ownership was reduced, and more importantly, the term included anyone who the local Soviet suspected might be opposed to collectivization.
Thanks Red Jeff. We should never agree on everything as that is dangerous, but be prepared to talk in a civilized manner. That is sometimes lacking here.
Robert W. exactly. This fellow is blinded by his hatred of anyone who opposes his agenda.

  16. OK Tom. This is the (NDP) view for Shawn Dearn to have Verbal Diarrhea run off at the mouth as long as its against the Catholic religion. His personal view could have and should have been expressed in a better manner but this SHIT mouth appears to be OK with you. Shawn your views haven’t changed just your willingness to stand behind your views.Hmm your gonna fit right in Congratulations from all the other parties who will benefit from Toms lack of moral obligation to do whats right. Heads up Canada we have a liar in politics ha ha ha.
