Forward!

Fundamental transformation, all systems gone;

It’s difficult to say what’s more striking about President Obama’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) regulation: its breathtaking radicalism, the refusal of the press to cover it, or its potential political ramifications. The danger AFFH poses to Democrats explains why the press barely mentions it. This lack of curiosity, in turn, explains why the revolutionary nature of the rule has not been properly understood. Ultimately, the regulation amounts to back-door annexation, a way of turning America’s suburbs into tributaries of nearby cities.

  1. It amazes me in Ontario throughout rural areas the roads are now repaired by installing signs that say “RURAL ACCESS ROAD”. Apparently it is much cheaper than actually repairing the roads. Potholes do not get filled and; surprise! surprise! it seems to only happen in the Ridings of the Opposition Parties. Similar to the plethora of unwanted Wind Turbines.
Naturally there are very few wind turbines in the Liberal Party Ridings. I do wonder when the Suburbs that do not fall into line by voting Liberal will start receiving Signs instead of having their roads repaired.

  2. The HUD nightmare is going to be further discombobulated with uber-regulation of AFFH.
This reminds me of the Soviet system of fighting the Cold War. As a US Navy friend recounted the Soviet’s required all their supply requisitions in quadruplicate. The Soviets would have lost after the first shots were fired; as the bureaucracy was guaranteed to screw up the supply lines.
The AFFH promises to be so hopelessly lost in regional comparison and intractable adjustments that it will fail under the weight of it’s own bureaucracy. It will just take a little while to get there.
    Suburban defoliation by bureaucratization.
SOVIET cities of the USSA UNITE! …because Detroit is working out so well. 🙂

  3. So, will the local AFFH have a block leader, residency permits, and will the local kommitee check to make sure no one exceeds the 5 square meters person?
    Slowly but surely.

  4. The left feel no qualms about making radical moves – pushing depts to far overstep their boundaries – knowing the soft-headed leadership on the republican side in the house and senate are so fearful of losing the race for POTUS in 2016.
The GOP if they win the presidency should feel no restraint after what Obama/pelosi/Reid have done.
They need to eliminate HUD, defund and if possible eliminate obamacare the doe, gut the EPA and nhtsa and the state dept. Leave the UN and cancel the lease on their building and on. And on.
In essence take the federal government back to the jurisdictional boundaries is has under the consitution. (As pmsh and the cpc are slowly doing in cda)
Somehow I don’t think Jeb is up to the task. Walker and kasich (who has no chance for POTUS but is almost a stone-cold lock for vpotus) and Rubio maybe. Cruz without question. But the rank and file need to make their voices heard (see trump and his popularity)

  5. Mark Levin was raging about this right out of the box last night. If you have the time, podcast his first hour. Really good stuff.

“Bringing the hood to the suburbs so they can all enjoy dodging bullets”
You beat me to the crunch Northern – the reason people worked extra hard to buy homes in the suburbs and pay the extra taxes associated with suburban location, is to escape the street crime in the city.
IF this fed subsidized migration of inner city culture to the relatively peaceful ‘burbs’ brings inner city gangs and criminal tribalism with it, I can see vigilance committees and a lot of dusted hoodies attempting to live the racist/criminal hoodie lifestyle in the wrong place – the burbs are armed and now have a back to the wall “castle” mindset towards inner city transplants (think Trayvon and Zimmerman here).
Alternatively, because every place the hood rats are given to live they turn into a crime ridden cesspool, there may be a migration of middle class from the burbs to small towns and the country.
Inner city welfare culture is parasitic, tribalistic and dissolute, now the Whitehouse Marxists want to make it a locust culture – migratory and destructive.
The number one priority to move to the burbs has been broken – that being clean up your act and be successful, burb living is the reward for that. I do not see what Obama hopes to gain by deincentivising that prime motivator for success.

  7. OK. Nobody else will say it. The Chimp-in chief is bringing n111gertown to your neighborhood. Welcome to Africa. Should of picked your own cotton.

  8. MikeSr – coming soon to Alberta, too. This was a common NDP way of “saving” money in northern BC when I was growing up. When the chip seal put in by the Socreds reached the end of its 5 year effective life, the NDP would plow it under and turn the road back to gravel. “Savings” of $100,000 or so per kilometer if I remember right. And you’re right, too, that it seemed to happen more to ridings that didn’t vote for them.
And people here in Alberta wonder why I’m down on the NDP before they had a chance to actually do anything….

  9. The only real place for Obama and his entire cabnet is Sing Sing or San Quintin for life for their acts of treason

  10. I’ll bet Nenshi is just loving this shit…He with the grow UP, bike lanes, traffic calming Agenda 21 mentality.
….I’m down on the NDP before they had a chance to actually do anything….
As am I…Having had the Rae day experience personally (my Wife), I hold ZERO hope out for the next 4 years…except for maybe a bus flying over Head Smashed in loaded with you local Edmonton Marxists in power.
    One could only hope….

  11. When they flee the cities, it’s white flight and it’s racist.
When they return to the cities, it’s gentrification and it’s racist.

  12. I wonder if they’ll be building low-cost housing next to Jane Fonda’s place.

  13. I doubt that any of Fonda’s homes/estates or the homes/estates of American elites are in suburbia.
While subprime loans are still being issued in America, it should be noted that none of these estates are going to be bulldozed and replaced with tract housing, plus no subprime loans are going to be issued to people who cannot afford the monthly/annual taxes on estate properties.
In summary, the Prog elites are, as always, insulated from the policies which they champion.
View things from an elite standpoint. They have X number of homes/cars/private jets, yet the middle income groups can get nice homes/cars and are raising their standard of living.
The gap in living standard is/was narrowing.
How do the elites remain elite? Do they buy more homes/cars/ jets? No.
They remain elite by widening the gap and ruining the standard of living of the middle income group.
