  1. Even the CBC has noticed that things aren’t quite right with the new government in Albertazuela. Because nothing says no conflict of interest quite like having the Premier’s office return calls that are to you.
Premier’s office returns call made to Lou Arab’s cell phone

Premier Rachel Notley is facing renewed questions about connections between her government and her husband’s job with the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Lou Arab works as a communications officer with the union.

On Friday, CBC News left a message on his mobile phone requesting comment about a press release sent by CUPE earlier this week under his email account.

Notley’s press secretary Cheryl Oates returned the call. CBC News has confirmed that the cell phone is not connected to the Alberta NDP or the government of Alberta.

Here’s video of Notley trying to explain the email. She sounds as pathetic as Hillary Clinton.

Hey, at least Prentice wasn’t sleeping with any oil company executives.

  2. Not that there is anything wrong with that, sleeping that is.
Other than that this is not surprising as government employee unions are merely extensions of the NDP and vice-versa. The new Alberta government should work out well for CUPE. All for one and one for all sort of thing…keep it in the family.

  3. Still there is something rather disturbing about a Premier that needs to have the ethics commissioner on speed dial.

  4. Government literally in bed with the unions. God help us make it to the next election.

  5. With the guts of the country’s economy in the hands of the NDP causing Mulcair to feel like the fox shown the path to the hen house, we may well become the basket case of the G7/G8, whatever.
For an example of union power look at Ontario where all the services, firemen, the police, the teachers, etc were told to vote Liberal returning to power the worst government in the province’s history.

“Greece: A Ponzi scheme with no end in sight”
“More loans won’t fix Greece; the opposite in fact. That’s because the creditors’ treatment of Greece constitutes the greatest Ponzi scheme on the planet (sorry Bernie Madoff). Mr. Tsipras knows that too, which is why Greece is barrelling toward default – he has said as much. The big question is whether some political and financial fudge will allow it to remain in the euro zone and the wider European Union if it does stop paying its debts.
Greece is insolvent, bankrupt, illiquid, economically dead – the sovereign version of Monty Python’s parrot.”

  7. If you live in Ontariowe don’t laugh. With Alberta in the hands of the NDP/Unions added to Ontariowe’s mess Canada could become another Greece. All we need to finish us off is an NDP federal government.
