  1. Da plane, da plane, boss.
    No dummy, I said PLAN.
Expect new climate change plan soon, says Alberta environment minister

Alberta’s current policy, which puts a $15-per-tonne levy on heavy carbon emitters, was to have expired last December, but the deadline was extended six months by the former PC government. At one point the Alison Redford regime considered doubling the carbon levy, but successor Jim Prentice appeared to back away from the idea.
Environmentalists said doubling the levy would be a start, but it needs to be increased dramatically to change behaviour, and more stringent emission reduction targets are also required.

And if that don’t work, just double it again until climate change stops.

“”When we took off from China two days ago, we thought we could go through the front and reach Hawaii. Now, we see the front has closed. It’s active. There’s rain, there’s icing – everything that’s dangerous for our aircraft. So we’ve decided to stop in Nagoya and wait for better weather to continue.””

But a developing cold front over the ocean is blocking its path and pilot Andre Borschberg has decided to play safe by putting down in Nagoya.”

“This is his sole legacy: a massive post-traumatic stress disorder.”
“The “small people”, the “rank and file”, the “loyal soldiers” of the narcissist – his flock, his nation, his employees – they pay the price. The disillusionment and disenchantment are agonizing. The process of reconstruction, of rising from the ashes, of overcoming the trauma of having been deceived, exploited and manipulated – is drawn-out. It is difficult to trust again, to have faith, to love, to be led, to collaborate. Feelings of shame and guilt engulf the erstwhile followers of the narcissist. This is his sole legacy: a massive post-traumatic stress disorder.”

  5. Former Premier of Quebec and P.Q. Leader Jacques Parizeau dead. As I said in the Gazette, he was a well educated and articulate leader. Too bad he never read Friedrich Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom or Ludwig von Mises The Anti-Capitalist Mentality.
And I believe it was Parizeau who tired of a journalist’s use of ‘tu’ the informal Quebec manner of addressing people said if he or she didn’t stop, he would be forced to use an obscure tense like the imperfect subjunctive.

  6. Another native self-flagellation process underway, the release of the “Truth(!) and Reconciliation” Report.
Of course, it seems to be another reason for the natives to think they are getting rich. No doubt there were issues with these Presbyterian, Anglican and United Church run facilities.
But why does a kid today quit regular school in Grade 9, when he never went near those places? Again, bizarre reasoning from the gimme gimme crowd.
Sorry, my home and native friends, but I don’t feel guilty for your bad decisions, and neither do most of my friends and acquaintances in normal society (non-reserve), but if the lefties of the world want to pay, they should.
The natives need to fix their own society first before, once again complaining to everybody else. But the CBC will pizz and moan all day long

  7. True, but the conspiracy theory anti-GMO earth muffin crowd made comments to this article, and as well to other linked glysophate articles in the Producer. Is there no publication that these morons do not scour in order to diss non-organic farming practices.
    An example below.

It seems everything from wheat to AGW to LGBTOHNYRVDPKL (who knows how many da*m letters) has a crew of fanatical adherents ready to imprison mentally and physically anyone who disagrees with their idiocy. Our society is going mad.

  8. ” The Commission defines “reconciliation” as an ongoing process of establishing and maintaining respectful relationships. A critical part of this process involves repairing damaged trust by making apologies, providing individual and collective reparations, and following through with concrete actions that demonstrate real societal change. Establishing respectful relationships also requires the revitalization of Indigenous law and legal traditions.”

    Individual reparations, really???
Does that mean we will be legally obligated to give up our spare change on demand?
They also want all schools to teach courses on their ‘plight’, and the funding to the CBC be left in place, and of course, the UN Declaration must be adopted.
    And so much more…

  9. I’ve been going through the summary of the TRC. It is extensive.
There are many “Calls to Action”. Some are reasonable, some are not, but that is only my opinion. Your results may vary.
    Here are three;
    62) i. Make age-appropriate curriculum on residential schools, Treaties, and Aboriginal peoples’ historical and contemporary contributions to Canada a mandatory education requirement for Kindergarten to Grade Twelve students.
    80) We call upon the federal government, in collaboration with Aboriginal peoples, to establish, as a statutory holiday, a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.
    84) We call upon the federal government to restore and increase funding to the cbc/RadioCanada , to enable Canada’s national public broadcaster to support reconciliation, and be properly reflective of the diverse cultures, languages, and perspectives of Aboriginal peoples, including, but not limited to:
    i. Increasing Aboriginal programming, including Aboriginal-language speakers.
ii. Increasing equitable access for Aboriginal peoples to jobs, leadership positions, and professional development opportunities within the organization.
iii. Continuing to provide dedicated news coverage and online public information resources on issues of concern to Aboriginal peoples and all Canadians, including the history and legacy of residential schools and the reconciliation process.

The CBC has 5 articles up on their ‘Canada’ page about the TRC.
Things are not going well in the comments. They have already flushed one complete comment section down the bowl, leaving one open, for now.
Apparently the tongue bath going on between native activists and progressives is not resonating with Canadians.

  10. HAH, in the few minutes that I spent posting the above comment, the CBC has scrubbed the last comment section.
A billion dollars a year, what a waste!
