  1. Sesame street was good at one time long ago.
One day I came back from work and marvelled at how a 4 years old could read. Nobody was teaching him. He watched the sesame street.
There was no ideology at that time, they just wanted kids to have some fun and learn something here and there.
His father put things in perspective.
Not everything that glitters is gold, was the hint.
The sons had a really free thinking life from early on.
The position here was that they need to know the enemy of free people.
Once travelling to Yellowstone park, Rush came on, they had real fun listening to. Did not know they actually would listen and have a comment. On the balance of things, they liked what they heard, while having fun. They were 15 and 11.
Today in their +- thirties, I have to wrestle with them over the propaganda although they do have certain sense of fair balance.
The one working for the city did say that the socialists in the administration are littlebiters they tell him he is not compassionate following the rules of the city.

Apparently a Prime Ministerial apology is not enough, let’s dredge this up again and keep working on the rationale for Native crime being dealt with outside our courts, and hopefully kill the First Nations Financial Accountability issue while they’re at it.
Here’s the head of the Assembly of First Nations reworking it from “DID practice cultural genocide” to “IS PRACTICING cultural genocide for more facepalm-inducing madness:

  3. De blasio was elected for his great socialist policies. A man of the people much like Bloomberg the control freak he replaced. Now that he’s elected he really can’t be bothered with the useful idiots that put him in power. Of course he will love them again in time for the next election. Until then he will run New York with the same competence all Democrats are famous for.

  4. Over half of those “subsidies” are actually payments for services rendered to NASA. SpaceX has been resupplying the ISS for about a year now, at a far lower cost than anyone else. Twelve Falcon-9 launches cost the same as one space shuttle launch.

  5. My mother worked at Oak Ridge Tennessee during the development of the atomic bombs.
Very few people knew what they were working on, just that the paycheck was three times more than an average worker in 1942.
One time I asked her how she felt about killing so many Japanese at the end of World War 2.
    She said:
“Son we saved millions of lives because of the peace the atomic bomb created.”

Somehow I doubt the taxpayer has ‘saved’ enough to pay the other billions in subsidy…and just how much profit was generated to the taxpayer by these launches? Seems to me the only one profiting was Musk.
He’s just another parasite who allowed circling the money around the drain at a slower rate.

Generous taxpayer subsidies will be cut off earlier than expected, effectively preventing thousands of turbines from being built, under plans being considered by Amber Rudd, the energy secretary”

  9. That is really nothing to celebrate. It is as bad as “celebrating” being gay. On another thread people are shaking their heads as the population drops due to the difficulty of women having children once they are past 30. It is time for a wake-up call (not celebration) if we are concerned about the survival of the culture. I suspect that childbearing is still pretty rampant is non-Western cultures. Still, a dumb thing to celebrate.

  11. Michael Hugh Anderson — What bothers me most though, is that all the men and women (both religious and laic) who spent the best years of their lives helping these children, are now totally forgotten about, even though most of them were overworked and underpaid (many having taken vows of poverty) and despite the fact that few of them even knew about what little acutal abuse was occurring, will be forgotten and disgraced. Of course, God knows the truth, but one would think that the Churchs would go out of their way to mention this fact to the world, but don’t seem to have the guts. Then again, they are afraid of being taxed into submission. As Marco Rubio has mentioned, the various religions are close to becoming illigal entities!
