Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I think the comment at the very bottom says it all. Buddy better pipe down about how helpful his religion has been to him, his main customer doesn’t hold “Xtians” in high repute these days.
Yes ixnay on the esusjay.
Word gets out you have a lifestyle like that and your shop will be really kaput this time.
You might be underestimating the benefits that come from not dealing with people who will be put off by his beliefs.
If you think a little Christianity in the business is a bad thing, read Buck Knives’ warranty sometime. Same warranty now as when I bought my first knife fifty years ago. Thing is, hiding your religion makes you look weak, and then you get picked on. You can probably think of your own examples.
Perhaps you didn’t read the whole thing. His shop has contracts from the government or government agencies. My comment was firmly tongue-in-cheek but since the Big O and his minions live in a topsy-turvey world you never know what their reaction might be.
Big O thinks he is a king, JC is a KING!!King of kings and Lord of lords!
JC Penny is king, who’da thunk!!
Yes, I thought you might mean the government thing, and it was part of what I meant, too. There are potential downsides to doing business with the government. Especially if it’s a government that would set against you because of your religious beliefs.
Honest people can easily get burned when working for government when they don’t understand the real intent of the programs and unfortunately focus on “mission statements”, speeches, and the rest of the marketing spin.
Thanks for the comment. Every job in my machine shop we ever dide has been private.
