  6. It would be nice if you could add a drug search along with a house inspection when buying a place. There is a commercial by the real estate board about a swat team busting in on a couple only to find that the confused owners didn’t go through a real estate agent. Kind of like getting a legal document saying no UFFI (foam insulation that turned out to be toxic) was ever in the place.

  7. It is my sincere wish that Canada can get Alberta OIL sands or Sasktchewan oil to tidewater refinery in the EAST via pipeline and get Europeans out of Russian OIL stranglehold.

    Let the festivities begin.
    Yes, the official Trudeau family ‘last week of December’ card has finally arrived.
    On the front there is a square that wishes us all “Season Greetings”. That is surrounded by 5 (yes FIVE) photos of the Trudeau kids being adorable. The back has another 5(yes FIVE)photos of the kids along with Mom and Papa being adorable.
    On the inside there is a huge photo of the whole family being adorable. It is great,it is wonderful, but …
    … It has absolutely nothing to do with the “season” and even less to do with Christmas.
    11 (yes ELEVEN) photos and not a lick of snow in any of them. I doubt if any of them were taken during the winter months in Canada. Possibly they were taken in Cuba in January. I don’t know, but I suppose that would qualify as a seasonal shot.
    But,
    I’ve saved the best for last.
    The inscription inside reads;
    ” Let’s celebrate our faith in a better world… ”
    They sign it ‘Justin and Sophie’ and Sophie adds a couple of kisses. That is it,those 8 words, nothing else.
    I’m worried.
    What is this ‘better world’ stuff ?
    Is JT severely depressed ?
    Is there a mother ship hovering above?
    Did that ISIS recruiting video have an impact on his young impressionable mind ?
    What is “our faith” ?
    All in all though, it is just more pandering,patronizing pap from the ponce of Papineau.
    The man is nauseating.

  16. Pissedoff: Re: Wind farms.
    I won’t dispute the fact that wind farms would depress residential or commercial prices. And I do believe that the ”bird” and ”noise” stories are grossly exaggerated.
    I do however dispute the building of wind farms at the expense of the public coffers. Wind generators should be purchased by individuals who believe that the intermittent source of power is beneficial for their personal needs.
    My Dad was a telephone lineman in the early 50’s. He often got called to replace brushes, governors etc. on Jacobs and Winpower generators. They varied from 12v to 110V DC. Because of the intermittent nature of wind, they all required a backup gasoline powered generator. They were a lot of fun to watch, and they did light up our farms for many years. The Grid however was much more reliable.

    He was going to do politics different.
    But, that was as empty as his suit or his ‘ fair and open’ nomination statement.
    JT’s travel expenses for the first fiscal quarter of 2014 are listed on the Liberal website.
    On the Parliament of Canada’s website,which has the final say, they have nothing listed.
    It has been 6 months now, what is the hold-up?
    It should be pretty straightforward. The taxpayer pays for legitimate parliament business. We do not pay for partisan travel and we do not pay for fundraising travel.
    Most other MPs of every party have their expenses listed. JT’s have apparently not been approved.
    But, the Liberal party website has them up. Something is not right.

    The student was portrayed as obsessed with shoes, and her favourite company was Tiffany’s.
    I can agree that the extra characterization is gratuitous, but it’s not any more “sexist” than some of the more outrageous comments made by feminists, including the one that all men are potential rapists.
    Would the critics be as outraged if the student were a man? A man who was football-obsessed and who wanted to work for the NFL? A woman who was football-obsessed?
    How did this non-story manage to take up valuable newspaper space?
    It reminds me of the tempest in a teapot a few months ago regarding a McGill student who sent out an online document that included a link to a spoof video of Barack Obama kicking a chair. This was interpreted by the leftist lunatic fringe as something called “microaggression”, which basically amounts to racism so small you need a microscope to see it. Eventually, cooler heads realized that genuine racism was being trivialized, and the student’s forced apology was deemed unnecessary.

But they omit the best argument for diversity in a capitalist society: that failure to consider all potential candidates, not just the ones who match the ethnic or other profiles of the current board membership, will likely result in the omission of some of the most qualified candidates, to the detriment of the company.
    Above all, the authors omit to say why the corporate board diversity issue is any concern of the state in the first place, which is the elephant in the room.

  24. Fox News reports that a few days after black teenagers beat Bosnian-American Zemir Begic to death with hammers, another Bosnian, this time a woman, was forced out of her car at gunpoint by three African-American teens and beaten unconscious.
    Apparently there’s been a spike in violent crime in the St. Louis area following the Michael Brown shooting.
    From the Fox News report:

    “It is common for African-American teens to walk in the middle of the street and block in cars at intersections,” said the (Bevo Mills resident), who has lived in the neighborhood for half a decade. “We have been stopped at intersections in Bevo and our car attacked by teens who pound on the car — laughing at us.”

  33. Ontario the Poor continues down the path of poverty as Energy Minister Chiarelli basically tells us the Auditor’s report re the “Smart” meters is flawed, ditto for Orville Redenbacher’s look alike Premier Wynne.
    IMO there needs to be an uprising in Ontario and a demand for some resignations. The energy minister avows himself to be an honest man, if that is true why am I reminded of Richard Nixon’s famous declaration, “I am not a crook”? Lying is a big component when hiding costs and when crooked deals are made to retain power.

  36. Invenergy wind turbine contract terminated

    NORTH PERTH – Opponents of a proposed wind turbine project in Elma and Mornington can celebrate Christmas a little early with news that the Invenergy Canada project has been cancelled.
    Information surrounding the plan to build up to 26 industrial wind turbines in North Perth and Perth East has been limited since the Ministry of the Environment deemed the application to be incomplete in August 2013, but an inquiry by The Banner to Invenergy LLC director of communications Alissa Krinsky confirmed on Monday that the Conestogo Wind Power Partnership and the Ontario Power Authority have mutually agreed to terminate the Feed-In Tariff contract for the Conestogo Wind Project.
