  1. Re: Nanos Poll–Stephen Harper leading Justin Trudeau.
I heard a comment at coffee today that said that Mr. Harper’s sudden jump in popularity is due to Trudeau’s lack of support for our mission in Iraq.
The way they were talking, the CPC was ahead of the Liberals. Does anyone know what poll that might be??

  2. Afghan Opium Cultivation Rises to Record Levels
…under the careful watch of the Husein Obama Regime.
KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan opium cultivation again rose to historic levels in 2014, United Nations officials reported on Wednesday. And in a sign of how deeply entwined drug trafficking and the Afghan political system have become, the officials said the protracted elections this year were at least part of the cause.
“With the presidential election ongoing, there was a huge demand of funding,” said Jean-Luc Lemahieu, a senior official with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. “And that funding is not available in the licit economy, and that money has to come from somewhere, so they turned to the illicit economy.”

    We’re not racist, we’re bigots.
We hate all arrogant/asswholes equally, race has nothing to do with it.

  4. Harper being ahead of Trudeau should come as no surprise. That being said, considering PMSH’s record versus Trudeau’s utter uselessness, the fact that the gap isn’t as wide as the Grand Canyon is somewhat puzzling.

  5. Traces of Fukushima Radiation Detected Off California Coast

by Becky Oskin, Senior Writer | November 11, 2014
Extremely low levels of radioactive cesium from Japan’s 2011 Fukushima nuclear meltdown are present in ocean water offshore Northern California, researchers announced Monday (Nov. 10).
In seawater collected about 100 miles (161 kilometers) offshore of Eureka, the amount of cesium-134 was 2 Becquerels per cubic meter of water (a unit of measure based on the number of radioactive decay events per second per 260 gallons of water). That’s about 1,000 times lower than the drinking water limit set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

  6. Anyone with half a brain knows this landrieu is only posturing once electing she will blow with the wind on any subject so long as she gets her paycheck her pension and keeps her in office/power. Like every single liberal i know. Just simply power hungry.

  7. The Mathematician Who Proved Why Hipsters All Look Alike
    http://dyspepsiageneration.com/?p=108008

Jonathan Touboul is a mathematician and a neuroscientist. He holds a PhD in math from France’s prestigious École Polytechnique, where he won a prize for his thesis on how to simulate neurons in the brain. He publishes papers with titles like “Pulsatile localized dynamics in delayed neural-field equations in arbitrary dimension” and “The propagation of chaos in neural fields.”
Recently, though, Touboul has been thinking about hipsters. Specifically, why hipsters all seem to dress alike. In his line of work, there are neurons that also behave like hipsters. They fire when every neuron around them is quiet; or they fall silent when every neuron around them is chattering.
Because he is a mathematician, Touboul began to look for a way to explore this idea using equations. In other words, he constructed a mathematical model. His key insight is that people (and neurons) do not instantly perceive what is mainstream. There’s a delay. And in situations where the delay is large enough, the contrarians can inadvertently synchronize with each other.
“In wanting to oppose the trends, there actually emerges some sort of hipster loop,” Touboul said.

  8. Agreed..
Landrieu knows she lost the midterm election, I’m thinking it was 44% for her challenger,
    and 39% for her,
other candidates took the remaining 17%.
She thinks if she does something wonderful for Louisiana, Keystone pipeline,
she can cross that 50% threshold.
Or at least tie up the election or send it to the house of Representative,
or get stuffed ballot boxes, dead voters, trick voting machines, etc.etc..
After the election, she can tell Canada to kiss off..

  13. Interesting story at the CBC.
A few months back there was controversy over a decision to forego ‘ white’ man’s medicine for a more natural cure. The native child and her mom went down to Florida and paid big bucks to a holistic naturopath ‘doctor.
It turns out the guy is likely a shyster and the young girl is dying.
Apparently this man targets the uneducated and the desperate to make a buck.
” The family of Makayla Sault, who is the same age, has the same type of leukemia and lives in a nearby First Nation made a similar decision to leave chemotherapy earlier this year.
Both families travelled to West Palm Beach and paid more than $18,000 each for Clement’s “Life Transformation Program” at the Hippocrates Health Institute (HHI). ”

“Harper now 6th longest-serving PM in history”
“On Thursday, Harper marked his 3,203rd day in office, eclipsing the length of time Brian Mulroney spent as prime minister. That puts Harper sixth in length of service among our 22 prime ministers.
Last week he surpassed Robert Borden, the Conservative who led Canada through the First World War, which means only one other Conservative is ahead of Harper on the list. His name was Macdonald.”
