  1. Thanks to everyone who helped the Lethbridge Herald get a good response to their poll. Would be such a shame if people never replied to their poll. ☺
To everyone who is on track to get a blast of winter, stay warm, safe and be well.

  2. THE US RUINED LYBYA
[ Just three years have passed since an American-led bombing campaign destroyed the regime of Moammar Khadafy in Libya. At first that operation felt like a victory for peace and freedom. By bringing down the dictator, we presumed we had “liberated” Libyans and that they would quickly settle into pro-American democracy.
The speed with which we have been proven disastrously wrong, however, is breathtaking. So is the sweeping scope of unintended consequences that have flowed from this intervention. Not even those who opposed it imagined how far-reaching its effects would be. This is likely to go down in history as the most ill-conceived intervention of the Obama era.]

  3. How can you possibly have a polar vortex when all the polar ice is disappearing ?
    We call it “winter”.

  4. I would advocate for caution on the writings of Mr. Kinzer. Wikipedia, for example, yields the following:
“Kinzer has opposed interventionist U.S. foreign policy toward Latin America. In a 2010 interview with Imagineer Magazine, he stated:
‘The effects of U.S. intervention in Latin America have been overwhelming negative. They have had the effect of reinforcing brutal and unjust social systems and crushing people who are fighting for what we would actually call “American values.” In many cases, if you take Chile, Guatemala, or Honduras for examples, we actually overthrew governments that had principles similar to ours and replaced those democratic, quasi-democratic, or nationalist leaders with people who detest everything the United States stands for.'[2]
In Overthrow: America’s Century of Regime Change From Hawaii to Iraq, published in 2006, Kinzer critiqued U.S. foreign policy as overly interventionist.”
He worked for the NYT before his “academic career” and he currently writes for the Guardian. Sort of says it all, doesn’t it? Seems like he would fit in nicely with the Justin Trudeau blame-the-victim foreign policy set.

  5. Mark Paredes, A Mormon Bishop, in a Wednesday blog titled “Good Riddance to Harry Reid, the Mormon Senate Leader,” expressed his belief that Democrats’ support of same-sex marriage, abortion rights and gambling runs contrary to church stances.
He called Reid an “embarrassment” who isn’t “a man of serious religious faith.”

The universal response to this information in my generally well-informed household was, “Who knew?”. Supposedly, this item has been up on the Mother ship’s — er, Mother Corp.’s — website for a couple of days, but no one here knew anything about it.
Still, it’s nice to the Canadian branch of the Walter Duranty media group-think society produce something other than stories about themselves and alternative-universe puff pieces about Justin Trudeau.

Ezra’s correct, of course, but he might have gone a little further.
Pardon the cats-and-dogs metaphors, but a key element in the collapse of LPC support in the post-9/11 age is a desire on the part of many Canadians for the de-pussification of Canadian foreign policy. The Monty Python sketch about how the Canadian lumberjack becomes a cross-dresser is a pretty scathing parody of Trudeau, Sr.-era foreign policy. Obviously, Trudeau, Jr. and his apologist, J. Chretien, don’t see the problem.
Beyond that, while Ezra notes Trudeau’s attempt to schmooze “the Muslim vote”, he might also have mentioned Trudeau’s attempt to schmooze “the Quebec vote”, as well. I certainly don’t think that very many people elsewhere are very willing to go back to the tail-wags-dog days of Trudeau, Sr. Obviously, Trudeau, Jr. and his apologist, J. Chretien, don’t see the problem here, either.

The media traipses around as if it’s the most natural thing in the world for Kathleen Wynne to make outrageous demands for more “infrastructure” cost-sharing by Ottawa, and about how forward-looking it is for Trudeau to cave in to her.
This Goldstein article offers the perfect rational antidote to the collective delusions, and reflects what Joe Oliver seems to get: the Ontario Liberals are the poster children for how to waste other peoples’ money, and what ever is provided by Ottawa will never be enough.

  10. Saturday morning, Saskatoon received between 2 and 3 center enters of light fluffy snow, at best. At 8 am I traveled down Idlewyld street thru the downtown entered the freeway and drove as far as Stonebridge. There was not 1 granule of sand or salt the entire way. People on the freeway were going 40 km per hour. One hour later I left the dentist and returned home. Clarence Ave as you approach the freeway was so iced up that cars could not navigate the small incline and we’re stuck on the ice. A city of Saskatoon light and power truck was spreading gravel by hand bombing it onto the road. Mayor Don Atchison was out spreading gravel with the light and power crew. WHERE THE HELL ARE THE ROAD CREWS AT 9 AM ON A SNOWY MORNING. THE CITY MANAGER MURRY TOTLAND IS RUINING THIS ONCE GREAT CITY.

  11. Kathleen Wynne was a big part of McGuinty’s Green crazed plot, put he name to it which has wrecked Ontario’s economy, put us in have-not status, and is continuing on the same path as leader. Many people, home owners and small and medium businesses will not be able to afford the humungous raise in power and energy, her only recourse is demand more from the Federal government and lay blame on them…..the last vestige of a scoundrel, always the fault of somebody else.
This could affect the economy of the whole country and given the stupidity of the Ontario voters, accept lies as facts we could have one colossal mess if voters remain stuck on stupid and give us a Trudeau government with some twit like Chrystia Freeland as Finance minister.
    Be afraid.

  12. I just thought of something here………..
The story is that on Tuesday October 28, 2014–in Hamilton Ont.,–moments after the funeral mass for CPL Nathan Cirillo was over, Justin Trudeau boarded a bus. While on that Bus.. allegedly…an NDP member of parliament came forth with allegations that one of Trudeau’s Liberal MPs had sexually harassed her.
The Ottawa Citizen reported as follows: ”After the funeral, Trudeau was on a bus on his way back to the airport to fly to Ottawa, when an NDP MP approached him to share an allegation of misconduct against one of the Liberal MPs.”
I wonder if there was a security camera on the bus, and I wonder if the camera may have recorded the identity of the passengers.. Wouldn’t that reveal who was (really) sitting beside Trudeau?? That story just seems too ”convenient!”
Think carefully! Following one of the most notable funerals in Canada’s history, an unidentified woman ”just happens” to be sitting beside Boy Trudeau on the bus. She ”just happens” to be an NDP MP who ”just happens” to (allegedly) have been sexually harassed by one of Boy Trudeau’s MPs. And at a time when Boy Trudeau’s popularity ”just happens” to be dropping because the CBC, the CTV and the other leftist networks can’t hide his ignorance any longer.
I think this ”just happens”, to be too much coincidence to swallow!
    Twas just a thought…….

  13. We’ll just have to wait this one out and it could get pretty messy for Kid Trudeau if the women refuse to come forward and lay charges for these alleged “sexual assaults”. If it’s not worth laying charges why is it worth ruining the political and possibly the personal lives of the two Liberal MP’s?

  14. I never could understand why the BIG banks were giving money to the Obama machine.
    I understand now…..

  16. I can see how all these coincidence coming together all at once stretches the plausibility that it was just a coincidence.
Justin’s response was a reaction of someone that only see’s one possible outcome.
Meaning he doesn’t know his own MP’s well enough to trust them, or hasn’t taken the time to get familiar enough with them to establish trust.
    And
He assumes that any woman making claims that she is a victim would never lie.
    Inevitable outcome, Justin panics easily.
The severity of the accusations aside I expect the political operatives both inside the LPC and in other parties are realizing where Justin’s achilles heel is.
