  1. EBD, thanks for the link, great article and great news. I for one would like to see an overhaul of the entire tax codes. As I am someone who at an older age (37at he time) chose to finally enter into a trade and achieved my Journeyman certificate, I was disappointed that upon completion a large portion of the money I am now earning is going to Federal income tax.

  2. Well, the increased income tax revenues didn’t come from me as I’ve been unemployed all year.
    Anyone need an electronic engineer?
Personally, I just do not believe government stats, and I am a Conservative.

  3. As soon as you become self employed you will discover that a large portion of the money you are earning is NOT going to Federal income tax, but instead into your pocket. The tax system is set up to screw-over employees.

  4. Last night I commented on the ISIS mission and the parliamentary vote on CBC.Ca. Of course I sided with PM Harper and the Conservatives, and for whatever reason my comment was disabled.
Two days ago, a poll was released that shows that 65% of Canadians are in favor of sending CF-18s to bomb ISIS. I would ask that some of you look at the comments that are allowed to be made public on this following story.
    http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/isis-mission-mps-approve-air-combat-role-1.2790189
Then ask yourself if those comments represent 65% of Canadians.
Question: How many comments were disabled??

  5. Re: Civil Forfeiture laws.
I can see why the Brits must revel at this!
Isn’t that why the Yanks fought with the British in the first place?
And isn’t that why they wrote the Declaration of Independence??

  6. CDC: Ebola can only be caught by contact with body fluids. Scientists: Not so fast
Dr. C.J. Peters, who battled a 1989 outbreak of the virus among research monkeys housed in Virginia and who later led the CDC’s most far-reaching study of Ebola’s transmissibility in humans, said he would not rule out the possibility that it spreads through the air in tight quarters.
“We just don’t have the data to exclude it,”
In late 1989, virus researcher Charles L. Bailey supervised the government’s response to an outbreak of Ebola among several dozen rhesus monkeys housed for research in Reston, Va., a suburb of Washington.
What Bailey learned from the episode informs his suspicion that the current strain of Ebola afflicting humans might be spread through tiny liquid droplets propelled into the air by coughing or sneezing.
“We know for a fact that the virus occurs in sputum and no one has ever done a study [disproving that] coughing or sneezing is a viable means of transmitting,” he said. Unqualified assurances that Ebola is not spread through the air, Bailey said, are “misleading.”

  7. National Post, Tuesday, Oct. 7. A letter to the editor (near the bottom) helpfully reveals the full, possibly heretofore overestimated, extent of the Adscam looting:
    http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2014/10/07/todays-letters-the-politics-of-war/
[In its entirety]: “Conrad Black says that ‘a hundred million’ vanished in AdScam. The commission of inquiry, however, found $2-million in improperly bid contracts and $1.75-million paid for work that was never done. That’s $3.75-million, and in Canada. We don’t round up to the nearest 100 million.”
That’s a bit more than the $90,000 involved in the so-called “Duffy scandal”, which cost the public treasury $0 rather than $3.75-m, whether the PM knew anything about it or not.
Come the 2015 election, if nothing else the Conservatives can encourage the public to understand the difference between $3-75-m (yet to be paid back, so far as I know) and $0.

  8. The msm and their academic-leftie programmers have achieved what earlier primitive fascists could only dream.
The neutering of the decisive force for good on the planet, at arguably every crucial step on the bloody slide to planetary theofascist hegemony:
“There’s a valley to the south-west of Kobane that had 2,000 Isil vehicles in it for 11 days, yet the Americans have never targeted them. It’s as if they only want to scare them or do a little damage.”

  9. Obama Quietly Scrapped Quarantine Regulations 4 Years Ago
By Kellan Howell – The Washington Times
Many health and transportation officials are calling for stricter quarantine practices in response to the growing threat of the deadly Ebola virus being carried in by travelers from West Africa, but in 2010 the Obama Administration scrapped a set of regulations that might have prevented the disease from entering the U.S.
