  1. Nearly all oil and gas wells are hydraulically fractured to some extent; some rock types like shale require heavier fracking than sandstones, for example.
The anti-frackers love to lecture us on how evil it is, though when asked, most don’t know very much about it, but their social media friends say it’s bad, so they do too. Anti-fracking defines who they are and makes them acceptable in their social milieu. They can’t change their views on fracking, and they don’t welcome any new data that challenges their preconceived notions.

  2. It’s ironic that they continue to consume the products and services that wouldn’t exist without fracked petroleum wells. They use plastics, ride the transit, drive vehicles, ride airplanes, heat their houses and hot water… the list is endless; all derived from fracking to some extent.
They continue to consume products from countries that emit the greatest amount of toxic pollution and those evil GreenHouseGasses they believe are causing catastrophic GlobalWarmingClimateChange. Like with fracking, they’re not sure about the details, but their farcebook friends say it’s bad, so they do too.

  3. The countries they like to buy stuff from contribute half of the world’s GHGs that they’re so concerned about. However the oilsands operations in the wilderness of Northern Canada is evil because it contributes 0.05% of the world’s GHGs, not 50%.

  4. The countries that dump half the worlds GHGs are OK because they make the phones, the solar collectors, the windmills, and all that fabulously disposable stuff they love to shop for.
There is a term for the condition when someone’s actions are inconsistent with their stated beliefs; it’s called hypocrisy.
In common terms it’s called NIMBYism, ie. “it’s tacitly OK, but Not In My Back Yard. You do fracking somewhere else, not here”.
They’re also going to vote for the Lieberal candidate, no matter who it is in the next election, because they want King JT as PM. They’re not sure why, but their friends say vote for him, so they will.

  5. If the stupid word filters on this forum worked correctly one wouldn’t have to do that. It could only be posted in pieces — that’s retarded.

“Canada sending two cargo planes to help deliver weapons to Kurds”
” Canada is sending two military cargo planes to Iraq to help deliver weapons to Iraqi Kurds who are battling Islamic militants, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Friday.”
“Two Canadian air force transport planes – a Hercules and a Globemaster – were on their way to Iraq along with a 30-strong military crew, he said in a statement.
“Canada will not stand idly by while the Islamic State continues its murder of innocent civilians and religious minorities,” he said.
“We continue to monitor the situation in Iraq and are prepared to provide further assistance,” he added, but gave no details.”

  7. Meanwhile in Canada’s courts we have Hiva Mohammad Alizadeh pleading guilty to terror plot, a charge of possessing explosives with intent to injure…how gentle is that? Now what? Well he gets 18 years at our expense and will be eligible for parole in nine years. Beautiful.
We’ll see what happens to the rest of his terrorist thugs who were in on the plot. If he holds dual citizenship he should be sent packing, if he holds a Canadian citizenship it should be revoked, these sick freaks of humanity should be set adrift

  8. Deja vue all over again or same sh*t, different day. I’m reading the hullabaloo in the press about some RCAF techs robbing (that is the term) parts from a recent museum piece in order to maintain the aging C-130 Hercules S&R aircraft. You would think this was desecrating a grave or something. Truth is, this is a common practice, as it getting parts from Mountain View (by Trenton)Depot or some other storage facility.Back in the late ’70s we got a pallet of radios from storage to pick apart and salvage what we could. I have even seen Canucks visiting an USAF bone yard to get a missile part while we were deployed down south.
The point is while our military don’t go to U-Pick-A-Part per se, they do make do and get the job done with what is available.

“Obama delays key power plant rule of signature climate change plan”
“Barack Obama applied the brakes to the most critical component of his climate change plan on Tuesday, slowing the process of setting new rules cutting carbon pollution from power plants, and casting a shadow over a landmark United Nations’ summit on global warming.
The proposed power plant rules were meant to be the signature environmental accomplishment of Obama’s second term.
The threat of a delay in their implementation comes just one week before a heavily anticipated UN summit where officials had been looking to Obama to show leadership on climate change.”
