  1. That article at that Yahoo link is quite possibly the biggest load of absolute nonsense I have read in a very long time.

  2. CDC Raises Response to Highest Alert Amid Ebola Outbreak
The CDC’s “level 1 activation” is reserved for the most serious public health emergencies, and the agency said the move was appropriate considering the outbreak’s “potential to affect many lives.” The CDC took a similar move in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and again in 2009 during the bird-flu threat.

  4. It’s not enough Ontario gets equalization as a have-not province thanks to gross mismanagement by the McGuinty/Wynne Liberals, they’re now demanding big bucks for infrastructure and blaming the Conservative government for their problems. Never mind the scandals, the lying, the billions spent to cancel gas plants to buy them two seats, that’s gotta be the Harper government’s fault too of course.

  5. I can’t wait for his biography next year – he’s a man of such great accomplishments.

  6. Recently finished a short biography of this amazingly prescient Jewish founding father.
Didn’t know that Bibi Netanyahu’s father was Jabotinsky’s secretary!
This link contains some remarkable passages from his (Jabotinsky’) writings that are exquisitely apt for today. One wonders if the heretofore squishy Bibi has been reading up too.
Maybe so, as he has apparently told Barry and the Ketchup-gigalo to STFU and stop second guessing him.

  7. First of all it should be called Lies From My Father Seconly the premise of Common Ground is that conservatives are divisive and that Liberals are not. But I well remember the Liberals pitting the East versus the West. I also remember Ignatieff and possibly Dion going into Eastern Ontario and pushing for official bilingualism for local signs and thus encouraging the Office de la langue française regulations that so strangle Quebec.

“Leaders were invited to the White House for the first ever US Africa summit
Included were dictators and despots with shocking human rights records
Obama’s speech barely acknowledged the oppression rife across Africa”

    Red-Green = Red Khmer.
“The great lesson I gathered from my experience this week is that the Green Party of Canada is a watermelon. With a new crack on its green façade, we clearly saw the socialist red of its true nature appear.”

  10. “Eric Morse: The threat of global chaos”
“… an international state of chaotic paralysis that may prove more destructive than any individual crisis on its own.”
“The Caliphate agenda is: Shias first, Jews and Christians next, everyone else third. They are not doctrinaire about those priorities. The question in a situation like this is whether the neighbouring states can give up their habitual quarrels for long enough to save themselves. The record is not hopeful, but it would not surprise me at all to see some very unlikely defensive combinations in the near future, as for instance Israel and Hezbollah, in the name of sheer survival.
In Ukraine, full-scale invasion certainly seem to be on the table. it’s just possible that Putin has overplayed his hand so badly that he may be past zero-sum and into goetterdaemmerung mode. He cannot hold East Ukraine by force, but he can certainly take it. How far he might go and what the results might be is unfathomable.”

“Globalism as Sacrificial Crisis: Jean-Pierre Dupuy’s Mark of the Sacred”
“Dupuy goes so far as to argue that the secular, rational project that nowadays goes under the name of “globalization,” that utopian dream of integrating humanity in a single planned unit, is but a delusory misperception of the impending catastrophe itself. As Dupuy puts it:
“Globalization – a cultural ‘valley of death,’ as it may be called – is… less an economic or legal or political phenomenon than it is a religious phenomenon.” To understand just how “globalization,” one of the best terms for the totality of converging short-term miscalculations, is “a religious phenomenon,” one must recur to Dupuy’s Prologue.”
