  1. We Are All Border States Now
    by Mark Steyn
The federal government does not bother to inform the states on whom it’s dumping these “children”, many with diseases unseen in decades. The President has appointed himself Coyote-in-Chief, express-tracking illegal immigrants from the shores of the Rio Grande deep into the country – until, as Sheriff Hodgson says, we are all border states. My own informal impression – going by the Spanish you hear from conversing chambermaids in hotel corridors, the names in the local paper’s police blotter, the budget issues facing school boards from a sudden influx of “diversity” – is that the parallel Latino sub-culture is well-established in northern Massachusetts and quite a long way up I-87 to upstate New York. So the fast-shrinking gap between the northern border and the southern border is about two hours.

  2. I watched the CBC’s National tonight to see how they would handle Justin’s support for Israel.
They didn’t. They may still be torn between their dislike of the Jews and their love for JT. Also, it would not go over well with their progressive base. Best to pretend it did not happen.
But they did have an 9 minute puff piece on the troubles of fasting during Ramadan.
It wasn’t the same puff piece that I saw last week, or the one I saw about 10 days ago, so I did a bit of a google search.
There are at least 5 done for the National, and a few more local pieces. That is this year only and there is still a couple weeks to go. I’m pretty sure that the CBC’s mandate does not include promoting religions.
    Google ‘cbc player ramadan 2014’.

  3. Last Friday, Brian Lee Crowley in his Globe and Mail RoB column (now under digital lock and key) wrote about the café he and his wife ran, in which baked goods were made from scratch every day using long-time family recipes. Then a government inspector came around and told him that they were not allowed to call their wares “homemade”, but had to call them “homestyle” or “housemade” instead. He gave them a week to shape up.
Fact: The economy cannot sustain the burden of unproductive regulators for long. Fire the parasites!

    Re: CBC
You have to see their number on Youtube and how the CBC obtains their information. Watch Evan Solomon warp the reality of prostitution, and ignore the real issues concerning Bill C-36.
You would think that a national network would go out and research the real problems associated with street workers, and the ravages they create when they enter a neighborhood. If you like condoms on your lawn, needles on the sidewalk and johns circling your block at all hours of the night, then support the CBC and the NDP-Liberal stance on prostitution. And lets not talk communicable diseases.

The gist of the article is that western nations aren’t so quick to defend Israel these days. He says that his own vocal support of Israel ended when the Canada-Israel Committee (now absorbed back into its parent organization, the Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy) decided to send “two anti-Muslim fanatics” (not named) on an expenses-paid junket to Israel. This apparently was enough to cause him to “sever[] all links with pro-Israel groups”. And apparently the existence of a few such “anti-Muslim fanatics” is enough to cause western support of Israel to vanish.
He does acknowledge the hundreds of missiles raining down on Israel and agrees that it has the right to respond. But the article has the tone of “moral equivalence”, as if a few vocal, possibly misguided, souls on Israel’s side are enough to counterbalance thousands of violent fanatics on the other.
I think it’s just another tedious attack on what he perceives to be the “right wing”.
