Earlier today Fußballspieler Mario Götze scored twenty-three minutes into extra time to defeat Argentina in a sternly contested match and give Germany it’s fourth FIFA World Cup. Tonight, accompanied by images of nicely rebuilt statues and edifices, the quintessentially German Heino rubs the victory in the noses of every other nation on earth with his unrelenting rendition of Das Lied der Deutschen, aka Deutschland über alles.
If that’s too much to take, watch a recap of the 1966 World Cup instead. Pip-pip!

Edmonton entered the world of high-tech on-street trash compaction this fall with the addition of five new solar-powered bins… The $4,200 bins are each about the size of a mailbox. They can handle five times the amount of trash normal bins do because they automatically squish the garbage inside as they fill up. The solar panel on top runs the trash compactor on the same amount of energy per day it takes to make a slice of toast, and it sends a text message to waste management staff when it needs to be emptied… locations are now much cleaner, and staff have reduced garbage pick up to every three days from daily.
Matt Volpi, spokesman for BigBelly Solar, which has been producing the bins in the U.S. since 2003, said 1,000 cities and post-secondary campuses now use at least a few of the containers, with Philadelphia, Chicago and Boston having the most high-profile projects.
Philadelphia wrapped theirs in bright colours designed by local art students, and saved $900,000 during the first year of the project on reduced garbage pickup.
This is odd. Apparently the Ottawa Citizen has cleared their archives of ALL political stories that are more than a year old.
I have linked to a couple of Ottawa Citizen pages on my site.
They are both gone.
Justin’s list of speaking engagements which could once be found here (SDA) on June 17th, 2013 under ‘Oh,Shiny Pony’ now leads to, ” We’re very sorry. It appears this isn’t the page you were looking for. ”
Justin’s HofC attendance record, which shows that once he declared his intention to run for the Liberal leadership was an astonishing 6%, yes six percent that is not a typo, leads to the same.

There may be a logical explanation for this, but I cannot think of one.
Revising history for the global agenda? Who owns the Ottawa Citizen?
CBC ombudsman ‘explains’ biased media coverage:
http://bcblue.wordpress.com/
This is a concerted effort by the Liberals and their fellow liberals to suppress any of the embarrassing comments Trudeau has made since becoming leader.
Remember when the MSM forbade the Conservatives to use any images from their TV clips or stories,a few months back, claiming copyright?
This is a continuation of that exercise. By the time the election comes around, all negatives by Justin will have been expunged by the MSM,and he will look less like the mediocrity he really is.

Thanks for your explanation. I`m getting old–I was thinking 1960,s and Perry White at the Daily Planet (Superman–DC Comics) going through the letters to the editor and saying” To hell if I`m going to print that.”

Oops, I thought the glowing report about BIG BELLY SOLAR had a bad smell to it. Too good to be true? Yeah…
Philadelphia’s $4,000 Big Belly trash cans a messy waste, city controller says
* Crews said they were not trained to operate and care for the new machines, which replaced $100 wire baskets. Crews did not have operating manuals and were not performing the recommended maintenance. They did not even have the tools.
* During a one-month observation, compactors were emptied on average 61 percent of the time, even though the alert status said they “do not need to be collected.”
* The night trash collection crews did not have access to the system that wirelessly reports when each trash can is full. They serviced each trash can each night anyway.
* Daytime crews that responded to trash can full alerts said the alerts are often wrong and hours old.
* The city may have exaggerated the savings. During a two-month observation, crews collected trash from Big Bellies 10 times a week on average – more than double the anticipated frequency.
* The city did not factor into its savings the extra time it takes to empty the machine compared to the old-style baskets. It also takes time to clean up graffiti, which seems to be invited more than the old baskets.

Hmmm … didn’t Justin announce something about open nominations a little while ago?
You would think that the former “journalist” running for the Libs or the current “journalist” that is hyping the Lib candidate would notice the hypocrisy, but apparently not.
What was posted is the only problem found at the search suggested. One user had start-up problems, and fixed them as they continue using the system. Others have adopted the system with no reported problems.
New technologies usually have start-up problems to be worked out. That’s how the aircraft industry developed; because the Wright Brothers and others didn’t give up and quit when there were problems.
“Too good to be true” comments demonstrate a biased agenda, and are factually incorrect. The system obviously works.
Good science and engineering are objective.

Mexico and Guatemala have reached an agreement that is intended to make it easier and safer for Central Americans, including unaccompanied minors, to enter the United States illegally.
Though largely unreported in the U.S. mainstream media, the two nations agreed on July 7, in a presidential-level meeting in Mexico, to make it legal and safe for Central American immigrants, including unaccompanied minors, to cross Mexico’s border with Guatemala and transit Mexico en route to the U.S. border at the Rio Grande.
The agreement apparently does not recognize that the result of such trips – entry into the United States – remains illegal.
But to facilitate the program, the Mexican government announced plans to issue a new “Regional Visitor Card” that will provide documentation for the Central Americans to remain in Mexico as long as it takes to get to the United States.

and as the second movement from Haydn’s Op. 76, No. 3 string quartet, known as the “Emperor” or “Kaiser” quartet. Haydn originally composed the piece as a birthday anthem to Holy Roman Emperor Francis II.

U.S. man contracts the rarest and deadliest form of plague from the family dog
Sonali Basak and Jennifer Oldham, Bloomberg News | July 14, 2014
A Colorado man is infected with the rarest and most fatal form of plague, an airborne version that can be spread through coughing and sneezing.
Colorado officials recommend that residents keep pets away from wildlife, especially dead rodents. The plague can spread from animals after a large die-off of prairie dogs, when fleas with the bacteria seek new hosts.

They wouldn’t even teach us the first verse of Deutschland über alles in school in Berlin in the ’50’s. It was considered a propaganda piece from the Nazi area indicating the superiority of the Aryan race. So we just started with the second verse: “Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit für das Deutsche Fatherland….”

Those who say they are concerned about the prospect of climate change consume more energy than those who say it is “too far into the future to worry about,” the study commissioned by the Department for Energy and Climate Change found.
That is in part due to age, as people over 65 are more frugal with electricity but much less concerned about global warming.
However, even when pensioners are discounted, there is only a “weak trend” to show that people who profess to care about climate change do much to cut their energy use.

I think it’s important to know the brand name of these hard drives, clearly some sub standard quality control.
“House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Monday made yet another request to the federal government for details about a crashed hard drive that may have contained information allowing criminal charges to be brought against a federal official.
Issa’s newest letter concerns the hard drive of April Sands, a former employee at the Federal Election Commission who resigned in the spring after admitting to violations of the Hatch Act. That law puts restrictions on the ability of government officials to conduct political activities while on the job, or from government offices.”

“The FEC is an independent agency, but Sands’ emails clearly indicated she favored Obama’s re-election in 2012. Before the election, she tweeted things like:
“Our #POTUS’s birthday is August 4. He’ll be 51. I’m donating at least $51 to give him the best birthday present ever: a second term.” In another tweet, she said anyone supporting Republicans is her “enemy.”
“The bias exhibited in these messages is striking, especially for an attorney charged with the responsibility to enforce federal election laws fairly and dispassionately,” Issa wrote.”
