  1. The PC Poll Trolls don’t get up before 2PM Eastern. You’ll have to cut them some slack.

  2. next on the list of racist/derogatory/stereotype team names:
    Browns
    Steelers
    Vikings
    Packers
    Texans
    Buccaneers
    Patriots
    Cowboys
    Chiefs
    Raiders
at the same time we can bring secularism to the names, and therefore need to protest the Saints. The cardinals will need to clarify that they have nothing to do with the cardinals of the religious type, and are only to be associated with cardinals of the avian type. The 49ers are clearly discriminating by age.

  3. Are you on their mobile site? I don’t believe you’ll find it there, desktop site, center of the page, about halfway down. Poll was at just over 79% for those not seeing a problem with the practice, 1500+ respondents.

  4. The name “Ottawa” is derived from the Algonquin word adawe, meaning “to trade”. How many places in Canada and the U.S. need to change their names?
The name Canada comes from the St. Lawrence Iroquoian word kanata, meaning “village” or “settlement”.
    raaaacist!

  5. The Marxist’s went after Religion, now they are going after SPORT traditions & Hero’s
The Penn State debacle of going after a much loved, and respected Coach because he didn’t use his influence MORE to prevent Sandusky from abusing players in a program run by Sandusky & Governors.
It was not Joe’s team or his players.. Why destroy a Coach & the Penn State football Team? Makes you go Hmmmm
This will become a battle between Black Athletic Millionaires, who make their living playing football.. against the small minority of activist Indians. Football ownership will not be as desirable and revenues & salaries will drop.

  6. I noticed that at 11:00 PM they air a program called “The Irrelevant Show”.
I find this to be redundant.

  7. Many moons ago, in my hometown in Manitoba,we had a very good Intermediate “A” hockey team, named the “Tigers”, that played in several different leagues over the years.
In the early 1960’s, we were in the Parkland Hockey League, which included teams from both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
One Sunday, our opponent was the Kamsack “Indians”. I attended the game and in the pre-game warm up was surprised to see that the Kamsack team WERE Indians, real Indians, dressed in dark blue uniforms, with a picture of an Indian head and the word “Indians” across the front of the jersey.
I asked one of the players why that name, he just smiled and said it was their little joke.
It was a good hockey game, don’t remember who won. This was in the days before the political correctness pandemic hit.

  8. It’s always a good idea to have someone make note of how the poll’s been going…
Did anyone ask the Navajo “Code Talkers” of their opinion on this when they were honored at the game last year?
    Oh yes, yes they did…
    http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2013/11/28/navajo-code-talker-says-redskins-name-not-derogatory/
“A leader of the Navajo Code Talkers who appeared at a Washington Redskins home football game said Wednesday the team name is a symbol of loyalty and courage — not a slur as asserted by critics who want it changed.”

  9. North of Kamsack, just a few miles, is the Cote IR and the Keeseekoose IR, together they have about 7000 members, about half live on reserve, while Kamsack has about 2000. It’s a pleasant enough little town and was always our last stop on the way to Duck Mountain Provincial Park… so I’m just sayin’ if they took an actual vote as to what they should name the team…

  10. 84.87% for don’t think it’s a problem
now I have to look for some unsuspecting fool using GYPSIE in a name, just so’s I can sue:-)))

  11. I cast my vote – I agree, 84.84% no problem seems like “Going Right”!

  12. Just bought my official Washington Redskins hat (at $29.99!) – it is a beauty! Young sales staff said I could probably get it cheaper if I wait until the new name is picked. Told them they may be worth more afterwards. Also suggested that a goodly number of Natives may corner the market on what is left.

  13. P.S. – I’ll be sure to where it at many of the protests expected over the pipeline approval! Only I will be the other side of the protest signs.

  14. I believe the ‘going wrong’ aspect is viewed from the perspective of the CBC.

  15. The same foolishness prevailed at Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon. The offensive name, “Redmen” was changed to “Redhawks” by timid school trustees in order to pacify the overly-sensitive grievance collectors and guilt-ridden Caucasians.
All three of my children and one grandchild all graduated from this school. Oddly enough, although the school had a large native component, none of my kids could recall any controversy over the teams’ name. Apparently, trouble started to brew as my granddaughter was in her final year. According to her, the supposedly offended were not native kids but a very small but vocal group of white students who she aptly described as “losers who had no life.”
    Why am I not surprised?

  16. But who will remember their names in the wider world outside of their reservations?
“For they left names with me that seem to sing
Names like Mohawk Mandan Kickapoo Cree Yacoma Seminole Crow Shawnee
Choctaw Delaware Fox Paiute Winnebago Cheyenne Blackfoot
Navajo Ute Comanche Quapaw Creek Apache Sioux Chippewa
Ardua Hupa Shoshone Mow Hicano Sage Menomini
Shinouk Arapaho Nez Perce Iroquois Pony Cutenai
Flathead Chickasaw Pueblo Yuma Pima Pomo Caddo”

  17. I asked at SC playoff time how the Chicago Blackhawks seemed to escape criticism. Some people said since Chief Blackhawk was a respected, historical figure well represented by place names throughout Illinois, there is no problem. Others that hockey has a low profile nobody cares, or people in Chicago don’t give a shit.I suspect they just haven’t gotten around to them yet, there is that slight problem with the tomahawk shoulder patches…worth keeping an eye on.

  18. What’s the name of the Ottawa CFL team? The Red Blacks? Wat dat?
    Playin’ it safe in autawa.

  19. Red Blacks? Would that not be a double offense?
    No words are safe anymore.

  20. I seem to recall hearing that Redskins wasn’t the original name of the team, they adopted it to honor an aboriginal fellow team member who died of cancer.
    Yesterday’s honor is today’s insult?

  21. Re: Changing the names of sports teams.
    Another Beavis and Butthead moment.

  22. Anytime you run into a PC person they just need to be told firmly to STFU and mind their own business.

  23. And CBC Radio/Manitoba airs a show called “Red Man Laughing”. For real. Isn’t that Racissss and demeaning or something?

  24. The name “Ottawa” is derived from the Algonquin word adawe, meaning “to trade”.
Ottawa is actually an Algonquin word which means, ‘people who can’t drive’.

  25. CBC had some twaddle spewing political correct wiener that Claimed teams with racist names should be “forced” to change their names. Team owners fined etc. Is that not facism?

  26. The odd thing is that me, being somewhat of an expert in racial slurs, have never heard the term Redskin used as an insult. I seriously doubt I have ever heard the name Redskin used on anything other that 1930s and 1940s Dusters. While the N-Word packs a punch, the confrontational value of the term Redskin is minimal, perhaps childish. Why is it that you really can’t racially insult say English people because they know that you are wrong and racially defective yourself. Maybe some people should simply present a little backbone instead of reacting to insults like tweenage girls.

  27. It is thus necessary for that you enroll in your house theater magazine if you would like entertainment directly in your own personal
living room. Maybe you were chilling to some classic rap beat and you realized it wouldn’t be challenging to
produce tracks like that. If the photos are incredibly old, consider copying
them in white and black for scrapbooking family history.
