Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

This is as bad as those French 3-cylinder cars!
That just screams hipster db to me.
Reminds me of the South Park It Bike.
Season 5
Episode 11
Gay
weird. I didn’t see him going up any hills.
Perfect.. ball busting eco-friendly luddite transport. It should be manufactured from hemp for a public bike-sharing program by unionized communist lesbians.
Personally I don’t think its a good idea to be part of the bikes superstructure. From back to front, tied with a seat belt. Than hit a car or other object with no chance of parting with the bicycle. I’m no engineer of course, but it just doesn’t sit right with me. He is not sheathed in metal-plastic like a car.
Warren. ☺ .. Yeah an ICY hill.
Looks progressive. Like a Jolly Jump Up on wheels. Did his mom tie him in?
As if nobody ever had a broken chain 10 miles from home?
The solution is to repair or replace the chain … not build a two wheeler that cannot use the pedals/cogs/chain/cogs.
Care to bet this is an arts student/school of design?
Can you say acid reflux?
My gonads are sore from just watching that.
I was trying to come up with a innovative complimentary word for this technical breakthrough, but the only word that fit the bill was….stupid. Pajama boy would probably buy one. The Prius of bicycles. Would be admired by people like this:

Palate cleanser..
No. He has two dads.
exactly, Dance:

Still better than flying and no dropped carryon bags!
palate cleanser?
i drive a diesel powered camper van and ride road and mtn bikes as often as i can.
puking diesel exhaust onto cyclists climbing a long hill is just a douche move.
kinda funny at first glance but seriously?
what’s the point?
p.s. i don’t do lycra…
Comments section under the video shows people still have a good sense of humor.
Example: “This advanced technology has already been patented though, by the FLINTSTONES!!”
Back in the day when “penny-farthings” were vogue….that device would have been called a hobby horse.
Funny thing, anyone familiar with medieval history or horses, would be aware that Hobby-horses were a class of small Irish warhorses, generally only about 14 hands, the ideal mounts for light calvary….much more mobile than the heavy horse calvary in hilly or marshy ground. These hobbies were also the ideal mounts for dragoons…mounted infantry.
This is really just a sexed up version of the Dandy Horse, or Laufmaschine, first patented in 1818. Then someone invented the pedal bicycle.
Darwin Award contestant. Tied to a two wheeled vehicle on a public road, sheer genius. Also some vicious frame-flex there, hope he doesn’t hit a large pothole. The tank-slapper and subsequent loss of control would be epic.
Max, your Palate Cleanser video is completely evile and wrong! You’re supposed to roll coal in the open windows of SMART CARS, not waste it on cyclists!
BICYCLE IMPOTENCE
Almost all bike designs, including this one, damage reproductive health. They cause impotence in men, and somewhat similar problems of blood flow and sensation in women. There is a lot of research evidence about this that the pro-cycling advocates are trying to keep buried.
Think about it. The rider sits on a long, narrow seat, putting most of their weight on an area about 2 square inches, between the rider’s legs. This part of the body is called the perineum. It is loaded with blood vessels and nerves. These are important physiological connections, and they are not designed to bear weight. Feet are designed bear weight, but not the perineum. Many studies have been done on bicycle police, and long distance cyclists. Most studies were done on men, and a few recent studies on women.
The news are bad. The damage is dose-related, meaning the more time spent on the bike, the greater the damage. The damage is most obvious on men, who suffer impotence. The damage is less obvious in women, but it still occurs. In both cases it can take a long period of ‘bicycle abstinence’ to recover full reproductive function.
So when I see an advertisement showing a breezy, happy, and Eco-friendly couple enjoying a cycling trip together, I smile. How deep is our self-deception!
It’s not so funny when I see real people on bikes. It’s sad. They are probably having private reproductive health problems that they (and their doctors) think are emotional or psychological. If I told them on the street what was happening ‘down there’, they would think I’m crazy.
The cycling community is trying to bury this research and vilify the researchers. But anyone who understands that part of the body would naturally question the safety of putting so much eight on it for so many hours. By the way, motorcycles do not seem to cause problems like this. The seats are larger, better-padded, and the actual body weight rests on the bum, not the perineum.
Search terms like ‘bicycle impotence’ give more info, and detailed info is on Google Scholar.
Interesting yet logical. Could also explain why real men and women don’t ride bicycles and it’s the main mode of transportation for the green weenie and health nut crowd. I’m for anything that diminishes their ability to breed, so it’s all good. Disclaimer…I used to enjoy the occasional bike ride and that ended when helmets became mandatory, but I never saw it as a form of transportation…..or birth control. Learn something every day.
