WASHINGTON — Justice Sonia Sotomayor on Tuesday temporarily blocked the Obama administration from forcing some religious-affiliated groups to provide health insurance coverage of birth control or face penalties as part of the Affordable Care Act.
O’Keefe has exposed corruption at the heart of Obamacare ( where gov. paid navigators advise people to lie on their O’care applications to get cheaper coverage ), and the scummy tactics undertaken by a US Attorney , James Letten, which led to the resignation of the Attorney from government ” service”.
If the US turns itself around, it will be due to the actions of patriots like O’Keefe, and like minded patriots who are philosophically oriented towards the Tea Party ideal of Constitutional government, not the Republicans, who simply want to make as much money as they can as lobbyists, after a short and disgraceful career of voting ever larger government.
Re: Gun Free Homes (in video)
As much as I love guns, I’m glad I live in Canada, a country where in most areas, we’re quite safe.
My sister and her husband and kids were near Houston a couple of years ago. In what appeared to be a nice roadside motel, in the middle of the night, there was a shootout on the parking lot between rival drug dealers. The next day, one of the Texas Dept. of Public Safety (Texas Rangers) officers told my sister that shootouts occur at least once a month. Yet the area across the highway was a residential zone near a high school.
Who wants to live in a mess like that??

“As much as I love guns, I’m glad I live in Canada, a country where in most areas, we’re quite safe.”
The mistake in thinking here is that there is some connection to legally owned guns in Law Abiding citizen’s homes vs. Gangbanger shootouts.
This False Perception is much promoted by MSM Propaganda led an assortment of total fools on the far Left, and so is understandable.
The Facts prove over and over that this association is a Lie.
We have Gangland Style Shootouts here in Canada along with Cuban Style Gun Control. We have Gun Registration of Handguns and Military Looking Long Guns and currently are in the process of dissolving a decade old Long-Gun Registry.
Are Canada’s Gangs better organized and that’s what keeps the shootouts down?
The Old Scientific Standard: “If It’s True, You Can Prove It”, applies here. Otherwise it’s bull.
So where is the proof?

So, the Obamacare program is being administered by the same people who brought us Occupy Wall Street?
Americans will have to travel to Mexico to buy health insurance coverage or maybe to Cuba. 🙂
As for the gun crime story. The U.S. homicide rate is 5.4, but 70 percent of the homicides occur in 3 percent of the counties/municipal districts.
Subtract the 3 percent high crime counties and the homicide rate for the 97 percent of the U.S. , where incidentally, there are much higher rates of gun ownership.
It has a homicide rate of 1.62.
Canada’ homicide rate is 1.8.
So, one is safer where?
Canada’s restrictive gun control program is a fraud.

France’s New Year’s Tradition: Car-Burning
Follow @TIME
For much of the world, they became iconic of France’s worst social ills: the burned-out carcasses of thousands of cars set ablaze during nearly three weeks of nationwide rioting in 2005. But as yet another orgy of automobile arson on Wednesday demonstrated, the torching of cars in France has not only become an everyday event; it’s also now a regular form of expression for disenfranchised suburban youths wanting to make sure the rest of the country doesn’t forget they exist. And their fiery presence is never felt so strongly as it is each New Year’s Eve — the day of France’s unofficial festival of car-burning. (Read a special report on the 2005 French riots.)
According to figures from the French Interior Ministry, 1,147 cars went up in smoke on New Year’s Eve — a 30% rise on the 879 autos torched the same night in 2007. As often is the case, the worst-hit areas were the disadvantaged neighborhoods that sit beyond the suburban peripheries of most French cities. A total of 422 cars were burned in Paris-area housing projects, compared to 12 in the relatively well-policed Parisian intra muros. Other cities whose unemployment-racked, racially tense banlieues also lived up to their reputations for frequent car-burning included Strasbourg, Lille, Toulouse and Nantes.

Two questions: where did you get your data?
And if you subtract Canada’s worst 3% does that homicide rate drop significantly in cda as well?
The homicide rate in Canada (2102) was 1.56 per 100,000.

Yes Gord and Rizwan, Larry is comparing apples to oranges.
But the Fact still remains; the number of guns in the hands of law abiding citizens in the area makes no difference to the murder rate. It does however, make a difference to the crime rate; it is lower, and that’s a Fact.

Gunny99 (1:00 AM), Plainzdrifter neither said nor implied that there’s any connection between law-abiding citizens who own guns and gangland shootouts, so I’m not sure why you’re asking him to prove that there is. He was just pointing out that things are a little bit quieter north of the border. He’s right: in 2012 Canada had a homicide rate of 1.6 per 100,000 people, while the US rate was 4.7.
As Larry noted, though, a whopping 70 percent of homicides occur in just three percent of the US’ counties/municipal districts. For whatever reasons — cultural/racial? — we don’t have as many –or any — absolute “no-go” areas like they have in Detroit, Chigago, East St. Louis, Cleveland, Stockton, Oakland, etc. There are areas in these cities that you wouldn’t even want to drive through, especially at night. By way of comparison, Hastings Street, (for example), the absolute armpit of Canada, isn’t really perilous for innocents — you might have to hold your nose, and step over people, and say “no” to people asking for change, but you’re not likely to be in any danger if you’re just passing through.
Things are a bit crazy in select locations in the US, and that’s what Plainzdrifter was – personally and anecdotally, not statistically – referring to. In Detroit, for example, the homicide rate in 2012 was 54.6 per 100,00 people (five times higher than Mexico City), Oakland was 31.8, and St. Louis was 35.5. Toronto, home to the notorious Jane & Finch area – run for your life! – had a rate of 1.56.
Anyway….merely noting in a non-contentious, anecdotal way that Canada (and one could add Switzerland, for example, where just about every household has a gun) is relatively peaceful, and that there’s less *illegal* gun-play here, isn’t a shot against law-abiding gun owners on either side of the border.
It’s not really about guns, it’s about certain…demographics.

I didn’t mention in my comment that the Texas officer in Question (who interviewed my sister hoping to find license plate numbers etc.) had relatives living in Owen Sound, Ontario, and told her in plain words. “You’re darned lucky to be livin’ in Canada.”
I believe that the murder rate in Texas is approx. 5 times of what it is in the worst places in Canada.
I was raised near the Sask-Montana border. I had good friends in the Glasgow Sheriff’s office. (Valley County.) Gunney99 needs to talk to US law officers.

EDB, Plainz; not really disagreeing with anyone here. Just get fired up when I see US and their higher overall crime rate and Canada compared like we’re saints or something. I think most of this is perception by the beholder. I don’t need to talk to any police officer, I have my own experience late at night in Vancouver,s downtown, alone, kicking used syringes out of my path as I walked. And yes, most of the locals were too doped up to bother me.
But no gangs, and there’s the difference. The gangs were in the train stations and shopping centers.
Comparing homicides; Montana vs. Saskatchewan; 2.7 and 2.69 for 2012. Not much difference.
And yes EDB, the US problem is demographics; at least that’s what the qualified scientific studies (and FBI)tell.
My worry is that Canada seems to be trying very hard to mimic those demographics through, heavy immigration of unemployable’s plus settling them in common areas.
And our grandchildren will inherit this mess along with a pacifistic justice system as per the UK.
