  1. Hello Lance;
    Below is a comment I posted to SDA back in June when I felt the Rough Riders would be lousier than the Eskimos. I’m here to let you know I’ve been eating some crow. Clearly, I was wrong. As an Eskimo and Oiler fan the only bright spot in my dismal fall of discontent has been that the Oilers, in the last week have finally gotten more wins than the Eskimos had this season. Actually, Graham Delaets run in the Fedex Cup and at the Presidents cup was an up moment as well.
    Anyhow, I’m going to try to show a little humility when the Tiger Cats make hamburger out of the Rough Riders on Sunday. I was lucky enough to have lived 30 minutes from Hamilton when the Rough Riders won the 1989 Grey Cup. As a westerner living in the belly of the beast I cheered for Saskatchewan that year. As a westerner now living in the armpit of Rider Nation my sentiments have changed. Go! Cats! Go!

    Lance,
    You remind me of Lance from Suckskatchewan that I met at the UofGoo.
    I am a born and educated Suckskatchewaner (Shirley this explains my spelling prowess?) but have always cheered for the EE and EEE. And firmly believe football and politics always go together.
    I hate to burden the discussion of the Suckskatchewan Ruffriders ephemeral sucksess with facts, but, have you ever compared stats on preseason results with those through the season and post season? Neither have I, but, you may wish to hold your predictions if you do.
    I’m Shocked and Confused.

  2. I’ve lived most of my life in Toronto and Montreal, but I’m enormously cheered by the appearance of both the Riders (guess you don’t have to call them the Green Riders anymore, eh?) and the Ti-Cats in the Grey Cup. Saskatchewan may be soaring and Hamilton may be hurting, but both have teams to be proud of.
    I’m hoping for the usual close and entertaining game. Won’t pick a side; don’t want to! I’ll be happy whoever wins. Have a great weekend everybody, on what was referred to in my youth as ‘the Grand National Drunk’!

  3. This could be the greatest of all Roughrider Grey Cup victories. But, with all the beer being swilled the big question is will their fans remember it on Monday.
