  1. Even facts are off-limits to the left:

Late-night comic Conan O’Brien tweeted Friday night: “Marvel Comics is introducing a new Muslim Female superhero. She has so many more special powers than her husband’s other wives.” The predictable self-righteous firestorm ensued…

  2. I’ve been following the Rob Ford story closely. Ford’s worst enemy is the CBC. What the CBC is doing is introducing facts and figures that are totally irrelevant to the real story. What is the real story?? Rob Ford has not been charged with anything, thus he shouldn’t be removed from council. As for the evidence that is being brought forth against Ford, little if any would ever hold up in court. The reason is simple. Judges are always hesitant to convict anyone who is a drug addict or an alcoholic–simply because the condition is considered to be a disease.
Then When Canadians make comments on CBC.Ca that are in favour of Ford, the CBC censors simply disable the comments.
    Need I say more??

  3. I guess the Toronto Star must think that video is real. After all, they brought out “experts” to say the drug video could never be faked or altered. Apparently nobody at the Star has seen a Hollywood movie in the last 30 years.
They probably think ET is ral and that guys head really did explode in scanners.

  4. Was looking like Rob was enjoying himself at the game – good to see! The fans seem think he was just fine as well. Keep on keepin’ on Rob!

  5. peterj; I would like to see a 3D gun actually fire as opposed to a youtube vidseo of one. High Pressures and strain on any moving parts require high strength hardened steel. Yes, some of the non functional parts could be ordinary plastic but damned few.
    Just call me from Missouri.

  6. Ezra Levant’s column “Trudeau two-step” is about the recurring pattern wherein Justin Trudeau commits a gaffe, and then the Media Party not only covers up for him, but spins the story against the Conservatives. Well worth reading.

  7. Someone should have reminded the Greeks in 1973 that their children were their future…
…which was why Greece was doomed to be one day be a German colony.
Several thousand people took part in a march in central Athens on Sunday afternoon amid tight security to mark the 40th anniversary of a student uprising against Greece’s junta.
According to estimates, between 7,000 and 10,000 people participated in the rally, which began at Athens Polytechnic, where the military dictatorship crushed a student uprising in 1973, and ended at the US Embassy.

  8. Re: Trudeau two step.
Sorry EBD but I don’t think the mainstream media has that much influence anymore.
Even the Rob Ford story is dying down now, and sooner or later, common sense through social networking and the web will rule!! And I don’t think Justin Trudeau is anywhere near as popular as he thinks he is.

  9. The MSM has become the progressive outhouse..
It stinks and nobody wants to use it..
Let them pump the Pony and slag Rob Ford..
Election day is coming and nothing says Schadenfreude quite like a third term for Stephen Harper and the triumphant return of everybody’s favorite mayor Rob Ford the Ninja..

  10. Why ? It was in excellent taste. Even Rob Ford would have laughed. Apparently he has a good sense of humor.

  11. That should have read 100,000 downloads, but there is overwhelming evidence the 3D guns work on low velocity shells like 22cal. I sure wouldn’t try it on a 45 cal. or 44 magnum.

  12. Just wondering. What percentage of people that mock and hate Rob Ford would watch that Nancy Pelosi interview and think she’s perfectly legit and in fact was bullied by all the negative questioning.

  13. The ultimate goal here is obviously to destroy freedom of speech and expression, and part of that is to get people to self-censor.
A related issue is that of “blackface”, which is also considered racist, even on Hallowe’en, as a few notables found out this year.

  14. Laugh of the day comes from Tommy Mulcair, leader of NDPQ who said Stephen Harper’s “cozy” relationship with Rob Ford will hurt him in the next election!

  15. While everyone watches the ford and the circus show.
Harper is signing your rights away behind closed doors.
If everyone knew, what he was doing, there would be riots in the streets. But seeing as though its done behind closed doors, and we are not even allowed to know whats going on, he’s made sure that wont happen.
What am I talking about is the TPP or The Trans pacific Partnership agreement.
We can only get glimpses of what is going on, through wiki leaks and other sources, Which in itself is a crime, as this will radically change your life as you know it. This has nothing to do with free trade, as we are lied to. But an attempt to strip all your rights away and create a new world of corporate monopolies that are above the law in any country, immune to prosecution.
Communism was when the government ran everything, in this case it will be the 1% essentially the same thing.

  16. But according to the Red Star he parked his car illegally after the game. No kidding-an entire article on an illegally parked car.

  17. peterj, I think it was a reference to Kate posting her video without noticing that EBD had posted the Ford model.

“Orangeville Wind Farm operations suspended after turbine blade breaks”
“ORANGEVILLE — Operations at the Orangeville Wind Farm have been suspended as a precaution, after a wind turbine’s blade broke Sunday morning.”
“Each of the wind farm’s turbines is about 430 feet tall, and will have a generating capacity of 1.6 megawatts. The blades themselves weigh about 20,000 pounds and are about 160 feet long.”

  19. All part of the insanity that has taken over the province of Ontario with the permission of the stunned stupid voting public.

  20. DO SDA readers know that Warren Buffet with a Financial partner Bought the USA HEINZ Food processor and are closing out a hundred year old Canadian plant in Leamington Ontario in JUNE 2014 leaving over 700 Canadian employees on the street, as well as the area Farmers whom supplied the tomatoes to that Leamington process Plant without a Canadian market for their produce.
Meanwhile the USA buys Canadian produced oil at reduced prices compared to World Prices they pay the ARABS and Venezuela.
And the MSM assholes zero in on a Toronto muff diver as the “BIG” issue of the day in Canada!

  21. That heinZ plant has been hanging by a thread for decades.
Ancient facility, very high labour costs and power costs. Probably should have been done quite a while ago.

  22. High labor and power costs…..
That says it all, not only for Heintz but for hundreds of others as well.

  23. The tide may turn way left for Rob Ford, his brother Doug says Rob is actually a social Liberal and likes Obama! I think the Ford brothers are having fun at the expense of their detractors who are looking more and more like the bigger jackasses as they continue to cover Ford’s every move and keep the silliness alive. It that’s what they want he’s going to give it to them. Latest is he was illegally parked when he attended the football game he was told to stay away from.
If you want to stop the sideshow one would think the thing to do would be to ignore him but they can’t. He’s being used now to tar the PM who has nothing to do with any of this…well, Tommy Mulcair thinks he’s got a cozy relationship with him to add to the silliness.

  24. No question about “high labour costs” etc, but the fact that there is no CANADIAN processor, even a lower scaled operation to replace THE LEAMINGTON ONTARIO food processor!
Heinz leaving Canada does DAMAGE CANADA and Ontario in particular.

  25. Joe MOlnar
    “high labour costs”
This is a bit of a misconception, as I call it, the right wing lie. I was on a board of a billion dollar factory that closed and moved to china. We were told that they couldn’t even buy the steel for what china could make the finished product for. In fact they said if the employees paid them, they still couldn’t compete (China was buying our steel at the the time). Labor was at the bottom of the list, things like dumping your toxic waste anywhere you want, no safety standards ect. was at the top. The company closed its doors because the Canadian owner sold out, and the new corporate investors only cared about dollars and cents. They didn’t care that we were making money, only that they could make more, and to get more of it, closing down and moving.Free trade is at the heart of the problem, what we need is fair trade, with more and more deals being signed every day, I suspect things will get a lot worse.

  26. The damage was done over decades by government subsidy. The Heinz, Leamington operation was a dinosaur on life support even back in the 70’s.
Much like most of the Canadian manufacturing infrastructure, government support and subsidy enabled the businesses to avoid making the sort of long term investments in their own operational infrastructure that would keep them viable. Essentially, they took the easy way out and just milked the cow until it died.

“Harper is signing your rights away behind closed doors.”
Is this your opinion or do you have any links to actually verify this ?

  28. “Greenpeace ship’s medic” is a Russian.
    Now there is a re-branding: Arctic 29.
The Arctic 29 should apply for Russian citizenship. That would allow them to be bailed out. Da.

  29. I spent considerable time answering their questions and then pressed “Continue” and got a server error so it was all for nothing.

  30. Yes they are cozy, that is why Ford is taking one for the team. Brillant play by Harper / Ford to distract.
Prediction: after next election Harper puts Ford in the Senate.

  31. Go, already. Leave before it’s too late. This article from the NY Times and the accompanying comments are breathtaking in their stupidity and self-obsessive grandstanding. Have we ever in history been able to share in so much of humanity’s collective knowledge, only to arrive at conclusions that are so frightfully, devastatingly ignorant, self-important, and devoid of practical logic? Ever have so many deluded fools willing to sacrifice both civilization and mankind itself in deference to “Mother Earth”?

  32. Okay Rob Ford has his issues, and a LOT of haters. And lots of fans, me included.
But my alltime favourite sleezy c**T was a canadian LIBERAL solicitor-general,from the 70’s.
You must remember, the one who FORGED his consorts husbands signature in order to abort his love-child.
THAT my friends was, and still is the lowest manouver I could imagine. We should commemorate that Anniversary…
Last I heard he was still a lawyer….

  33. I can see Harper agreeing to put Ford in the Senate for his timely service to the Party but I’d be surprised if the Prime Ministership itself was on the table.
Maybe Harper has agreed to give him a cabinet position in the deal which Ford would like as a stepping stone (the Senate not being a good path to 24 Sussex).
Timing works: re-elected Mayor in 2014, resigns from this powerless post to run in 2015 federal election, becomes Toronto’s member of federal cabinet.
He is a young man, time is on his side to become PM.

  34. Conspiracy theories teem with the weather changes.

    (reuters)
    …-

  35. Liberalism: Flushed.
    …-

Rob Ford now more dangerous as a celebrity than as a leader”
“Growing array of ‘flushable’ products wreaking havoc on Canada’s sewage systems”
    …-
    “Will Liberalism Implode?”
“Over the past few weeks, depending on where you sit on the political school bus, you’ve probably either had (a) a stream of guilty “I told you so” happiness; or (b) a dreadful, stomach-sinking horror while watching Obamacare, the president’s oft-labeled “signature achievement,” make its national debut.
It has been, in short, an epic disaster. It is a drunken, hair-mussed, ill-shod debutante tripping and tumbling down one of those long, open, curving, red-carpeted staircases, and then, at the bottom, plowing directly through a gaggle of gasping society ladies.
And that was just the website.”
